Tollesbury is a lovely village. The cafe has been open a couple of weeks serving good food
The campsite it’s self is really just a field with two electric hook ups and one water.
It does have a swimming pool covered over, so you can sit round it.
But all closed down at mo COVID 19
Just a 5 minute walk through boat yard you can get to the Harbour, which is beautiful. There is a lovely restaurant called The Harbour looking out at the water.
A little bit expensive site really, cost us £100. 00 to stay Friday Saturday and Sunday
When really only offering a field, toilets located in the Harbour pub

Really enjoyed staying at Tollesbury Marina Campsite with our friends, liked being near the boats and being able to make a group booking!
The harbour masters are fantastic guys and do a great job of taking bookings and making you feel really welcome.
Keep up the good work,
See you again soon!

Limited electric points - we ended up in the car park as there were insufficient available
Facilities are good though and the Harbour View food is excellent.

We had a great time in very hot conditions. The swimming pool was a godsend due to the heat. A good sized campsite with no vehicles allowed [please obey this rule] meant for a peaceful stay where there was ample room for children to play in the middle. 16 pitches in total with trees around the site for much needed shelter from the heat.
Facilities were great with clean shower cubicles and toilets. Tennis Courts in good condition. Harbour restaurant nice but a bit on the pricey side with no lunch menu available [not that I could see]. A great cafe by the marina which served full English breakfasts, lunch etc. Cake shop also in the marina village.
A great social vibe with children playing in the middle of the campsite.
Trolleys are provided for luggage onto the field. Not having any cars on the campsite certainly made it more peaceful and eco friendly.
Customer Service when you check-in was excellent with very friendly staff.
The only downside I would say [some might say its a plus] is that the place is very remote and off the beaten track. Closest main town was Maldon [very nice] which was a 20-25 minute drive.
For £25 a night [Monday - Thursday] with the facilities including the clean pool with a diving board which my boy loved, was well worth the trip. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights, sorry to say despite the price it was a lot to be desired. Upon arrival we drove past overflowing bins, the field was full of rubbish and overflowing ash bins.
The rule of no cars on the site was ignored. When we went to the showers and toilets they were not very clean. In our opinion the site is badly managed and should only cater for tents and Not Motorhomes !
On the plus side great location with walks along the coast and into the village. Habour view bar at the marina was very good.
First bad review we have felt the need to write because it is expensive. Expected more!.

We were very disappointed with this site. The earlier reviews had created a good impression and the local surroundings were attractive. However, the reality of the site itself did not live up to the reviews. Motorhomes are parked on a thin roped off strip on the main camping field.
They cram six vans on this strip. When awnings and windbreaks are errected there is no privacy at all and the fire risk is obvious. Access to this thin strip is through a car and boat park. All campers have to walk past the vans to get to the entrance gate.
We could not find a waste water or chemical dump. The whole area is scruffy and unkempt. There are three showers in the restaurant - clean but not enough for a field full of tents and six vans. Also the restaurant itself is closed from 5pm on Sunday and all of Monday and Tuesday.
The salt pool has a thin layer of scum on top and the heated pool is just an outside structure with a plastic hood.
This is the worst review I have written but at £34 per night this was one of the most disappointing sites we have stayed on!

Lovely basic campsite but with added benefit of the pool and tennis courts on site. We made full use of these along with the beach and salt pool, the great bank holiday weather helped!.
Few small changes could make this site soo much better. A coded side gate to access the pool and tennis courts would save the long walk around and having to go through the club house/restaurant each time. An investment in separate toilet/shower block adjacent to the camping field and tennis courts/pool would also be a great addition for all.
We are a family of five (kids aged 9, 7 and 4), and we would return.

Just back from a lovely stay at Tollesbury Marina. Site is small ( 18 pitches), but the field is a good size. Electric pitches (8) are quite close together - they are grouped around 2, 4 socket posts so if you're on the outside ones, then you might need a decent length cable.
Toilets and showers in the clubhouse are excellent. No queues whilst we were there. Secondary toilets during the night are attached to the clubhouse and accessible via number lock - fine. Also in high season 2 portaloos on the field which get changed weekly, but are grim by the end of the week.
Food in the clubhouse is good, but recommend booking, as its only small and gets busy.
Tollesbury is a lovely village, although not a lot of eating options in the evening, so bear that in mind.
Activity wise, swim pool and tennis courts on site are excellent, there is a salt pool in the village with a small sandy beach which is great for kids. Walks from the site along the sea wall round the nature reserve are lovely. Further afield Mersea island is lovely, or for good beaches, an hours drive will take you to Clacton, Frinton or Walton on the Naze, which are all excellent.
Only downside for us was that the site had lost our booking when we arrived, and they told us they were fully booked. Fortunately, someone didn't turn up so we were able to be accommodated on an electric pitch. But I would definitely call to confirm bookings before arriving. The marina office is used for checking in, but out of hours, the clubhouse didn't seem to know muych about the campsite, so I would plan to arrive when the office is open. They are friendly and laid back, which is nice, but this attitude may have lead to our booking being mislaid. Just be a bit careful, is my advice.

Fantastic site. Good clean toilets and shower facilities, although a bit of a walk as are located in the club house. Which if you need the loo in the night is a tad annoying! However my 10 year old twin boys were safe to go exploring. We took a blow up kayak and our children used it on the small very safe beach. Some lovely walks straight from the site too. Would highly recommend for people with children aged 8+. We ate in the marina club house on the Saturday night, which served good food too.
