We were disappointed with the value for money of this site.
The facilities are adequate but a long way from the camping field.
The field itself is not particularly well cared for, nice and quiet, but not worth the £40 we paid for a small two-person tent for one night.
The ground was lumpy and I was pleased to have an airbed as if I only had a roll mat it would have been rather uncomfortable.
There is a swimming pool but we were only there overnight and it closed at 6pm so we didn’t have a chance to use it.
There are shops fairly locally and a restaurant on site.

Arrives on Thursday afternoon, booked in at reception and given out pitch number (17) with electrics. Initially thought the area had not been maintained to a good enough standard, very uneven ground and grass not cut. But having found an area away from
The fence line, we managed to get set up. The site was smaller than I’d expected, whoever 1 to 18 for tents with four pitches for motor homes was perfect.
The pitch numbers don’t seem to run in any order as you drive in 18 & 17 are immediately on the right hand side, with 1 to 6 running along the fence line to the right of the field then sequential numbering back to 16. Please note our pitch (17) was the closest to the water hole and electric outlets x 4. With only one other 4 way lee tricL outlet between 14 & 15.
Others arrived with aggro from the start, as a party of six separate pitches required power, this was simply resolved by the owners running a splitter box along the fence. However the next day others arrival Ed thinking they had booked pitch No1 with electricity only to see others on the site for at least another two days! I think the owners managed to get them set up in MH No1 pitch, obviously some confusion booking, I’m only glad I booked and confirmed back in March.
Now the good stuff, site perfect size if you have small children. Our fist night we’d booked a meal in the Bistro three adults two children. Very nice surroundings, waited about 40mins for our starters to arrive, this didn’t matter too much as we had nothing but time on our hands. Enjoyed the haddock & chunky chips and my lads had the mussels which must have been at least 50 each very nice indeed. Two kiddies meals plus wine came to around £160, I think we also had a beer each so not too expensive.
The indoor heated pool was a real success with the kids, in it every day for at least two hour twice a day.
We also spent two days at the salt water pool & beach area, the weather was around 24 degrees so perfect. I had previously stayed onboard the lighthouse boat ‘Trinity’ some years back with Havering Mind charity, so knew the walkways through the salt marshes, well worth a walk to see.
Crabbing with my grandchildren around 5pm as the tide came in was a perfect end to any day.
Fortunately for us we had a really good group of people staying some with children others as adult groups but a very nice experience.
On a separate note the toilets and shower facilities are just a short 5 minute walk for the camp site, compact but very clean. The Bistro also has two shower cubicles which we were told could be used if others were busy or being cleaned.
This was our third time camping with my two sons and grandchildren, last two sites were over in Kent, but we all agreed this was by far the best so far. We will be going back next year for our ‘Turner Boys’ camping 2025 👍
Thank you so much to all the staff, look forward to seeing you again next year 😉

The campsite itself looks nice, small, but pitches are a good size.
The pool is a nice addition however, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to to it. You then have to walk back through to get to the showers. Very strange and awkward set up. There are plenty of places where you could get another access point.
Pool itself was clean and warm, which was great.
No washing up point was again strange. Could be very easily solved.
Toilets, so far away from the camping that if you need the toilet in the night it's extremely difficult.
The toilet and shower block was dirty and not cleaned for the first 24hrs, we had to go and tell them it hadn't been cleaned. They explained they had a new cleaner but the next day it wasn't any better. Shame as the toilets and showers look quite new and could be very good.
The area is lovely, walks for the dogs and access to a little beach pool area.
Unfortunately we wouldn't return.

Great location within the marina, facilities include toilet/shower block and elsan point.
There is also a swimming pool covered by a sort of plastic cover you’d normally find in a large garden.
There is ehu available though there appears to be more ehu pitches than actual connections (8) and you may need a long lead.
The bad point is the price, I paid £40 (midweek) for one night which I think is excessive, this may explain why I had the entire site to myself.

Probably the worst site I've stayed at.
Elsan point is a death trap and the tent/motorhome spacing was probably illegal.
Toilets and showers are ridiculous and too far away from the camping field.
Showers flood the whole toilet facility and the body odour smell is revolting
Entrance to field is completely obscured by an overgrown tree
The site supervision seemed careless at best
Dogs running around freely on site
Restaurant on site is excellent
Location is very interesting and great for exploring
Local cafe was closed on Sunday even though it advertised as open
Local shop had run out of milk on Wednesday (we were there on Saturday /Sunday)

Very expensive.
There was a live band outside at the restaurant. So 800 metres away. So not much sleep….
But, was there for a birthday party for a boat in the marina.
Was ideal location for it.

Set in field behind Marina, great access to walks.
Free use of warm swimming pool, club house and tennis court.
If arriving mid week after 5, ensure you ask for toilet codes ahead of visit.
Small toilet block with showers 300m from field.

On arrival at the campsite we found it to be very poorly signposted. We asked a few people and eventually managed to find where we were supposed to be.
After a short check-in, we set up our tent. We were then confused by the swimming pool information, which appears to be out of date in line with covid rules. So, unfortunately, the kids missed out on swimming on the day we arrived. This needs to be updated.
Then we had the worst shock, which was the distance of the toilet block from the campsite. It is ridiculously far through the large marina carpark and boat storage. Then up a hill. We feel this is completely unreasonable to expect people to walk this far when it's dark.
I would like to suggest perhaps a porta loo in the actual field. Had we known how far the toilets were, we would not have booked this campsite and will not return or recommend it especially to families.
They would also benefit from a freezer and washing up area but this we knew before booking, so it was not too much of an inconvenience.
The swimming pool once we worked out how to get to it was brilliant. The campsite was tidy and pretty quiet in the evenings.
It is also very close to the wood up salt water pool area.
