Wow What A Grate site. We were first time Campers and Enjoyed it. Weather Was good sunny & warm. Toilet block was a bit of a walk away but only 5mins (Night time assess by security Code) but clean and tidy. They had a Coverd swimming pool & two Tennis courts which we used both. There was 4 hook up for Electric to use. But we didn't. The Club house over looked a Lovely Harbour with Yachts in & Clean toilets & Showers accessed 7AM-12AM. The Village had a Tea room, Cafe(We Used lovely Breakfast)Butchers, Hairdressers, Londis, Bakers & Pub. We went to East & west Mersea Walking along the Beaches. Went into the Club house one night drinks were reasonably Priced & Have Evening dinner Menu if so wished. We all Would come Back again.

We have returned today from 2 nights at Tollesbury Marina, this was our very first camping break so we didn't have anything to compare the site to. Everybody at the site are very friendly and helpful, toilets and showers are clean (although a fair walk as others have mentioned in reviews), lovely restaurant/bar and the swimming pool was great for the kids! The marina itself is beautiful, so calm and quiet. The only downside we found is that there isn't anywhere close that you could go out to eat. We would return in the future though.

Very relaxed campsite, able to pitch up wherever you wanted, 2 electric points with four plugs at one end we didn't need electric so less crowded for us at that the other end of the field, swimming pool was great for the kids, the clubhouse/bar/bistro very pleasant, very nice atmosphere, facilities clean shared with the boat people so busy at times, we were able to put our ice blocks in the marina shops ice cream freezer, very relaxed about arrival and departure times, the shower facilities were a bit of a trek from the camping field but no a great problem, camp fires and BBQ allowed,

The only draw back we found was although dogs were allowed on site they weren't allowed into the grassed pool/tennis court area, we understood that not everyone wants dogs around but this did split the family up, if the kids wanted to swim then one of us had to sit outside the clubhouse with the dog. Someway around this would be good.

Also a discounted price for a pup tent would be good especially with older children in the group, £20 per tent regardless of size is a bit steep if you need to off load a teenager into smaller tent.

The marines shop was well stocked, we only needed to buy crab lines and bacon

All in all a very nice little campsite.

We loved it here. It is very basic and quite a walk to the toilets and showers, not a problem for us but maybe for the campers. There were no washing up sinks again not a problem for us and the campers just seemed to take it in their stride and make do.

We were the only motorhome and all the campers had open fires which created a lovely atmosphere. Children were playing out late at night, it was lovely to watch them doing what children should be doing enjoying the outdoors.

We were able to have visitors. We were told we could stay as late as we wanted to on departure day.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere but you probably do need to be quite easy going.

Some excellent walks and beautiful views. A very nice beach area with bar b q.

We will definitely return.

We visited Tollesbury Marina in August and stayed for a week. The marina is a lovely place to stay and staff were very polite and helpful. My daughter loved the indoor swimming pool and the salt pool and spent a lot of her time swimming. She also enjoyed crabbing and there was plenty of room for the children to gather and play on the field.

The Marina was a wonderful place to stay and close to shops, cafes and Maldon town centre. The showers and toilets were very clean and the water was nice and hot.

Overall a great week and we hope to visit again next year.

Great site. Very friendly and laid back staff.

The site is tucked away and in a nice location close to the marina. I would highly recommend sitting out the front of the Harbour View Bistro & Bar having a drink on a summers evening.

As the other reviewer said, there are 2 hook up points but they are both at the front of the field so if you camp near the back you will need a long extension lead.

Toilets and shower facilities are clean with code access out of hours.

We used the swimming pool with our 2 children and it was great. No one else was in there and it was warm too. Great fun! Maybe they could add a small play area for children?

I would also like to say the email correspondence I had between myself and the site was always very quick and clear. When we arrived they gave us an information pack too.

A really well organised site!

All in all I would highly recommend camping here.

We have just had a fantastic weekend at Tollesbury with 5 other families. We have had an annual group camping weekend for the past 4 years and this is now the favourite. This is a very laid back site which allowed us to set up where we wanted. This was also reflected in the staff that could not have been more helpful.

The field for the camping was well maintained and had 2 hookup points, each with 4 plugs. These were at the entrance to site so you will need a long cable the further away you are.

The swimming pool was warm and well maintained and the tennis courts were great.

The only downside was quite a long walk to the toilets (which were clean and I have high standards) and a rubbish bin by the field would be good.

We will definitely be back!
