Very friendly and relaxed site.
Fantastic play area for children
Clean toilet block Only 2 toilets and one shower in the ladies but we didn't find this a problem.
Large pitch and units not crammed together
We had no problems finding the site from directions given. (As you enter site don't turn left towards reception or else you may have to reverse!)
Great value for money.
We will definitely be returning

Visited site for 2nd time and it was still immaculate, great place for kids, regulars all very friendly.
Our plan was to set up and then shoot off down the pub to watch the football (World Cup) but the owner said he was setting up a large screen TV for anyone who wanted to watch it. We took our beer along and at half time someone came out of nowhere with snacks for everyone. Absolutely magic, pity about the football.
Cannot fault this site or the owners who are always on hand and mix in with everyone. Having looked at some of the other reviews I cannot understand why they say there is only one ladies shower, the 2nd ladies shower is also the disabled shower.
Looking forward to our next visit as this is a real gem !

First time visiting this site and we were not disappointed. Pitches and site are very well maintained, trees and shrubbery add character with numerous picnic tables dotted around for campers to use if they wish. Small, family friendly site with play area and ball games encouraged - our 10 year old son loved the football and basketball.
Good facilities for washing-up the pots and pans, with plenty of hot water. Toilet and shower facilities were adequate and, again, there was plenty of hot water. Handwashing facilities in the Gents loos could, however, be improved and made more hygienic by replacing the single bar of soap with anti-bacterial liquid soap dispenser(s), as provided in the Ladies. We did buy some from the local TESCO and left it in the Gents for all to use but it mysteriously 'disappeared' not more than 36 hours later!
Apart from that, the site is well situated for visiting the local market towns of Whitchurch, Shrewsbury and Market Drayton and we enjoyed a cycle ride along the nearby canal. There are other cycle routes, along quiet country lanes, in the area too. We're looking forward to our next visit. And hope the weather is as kind too!

Lovely weekend at Green Lane Campsite. The site is clean - grass short,no litter, recycling points etc.
Nice children's play area and football pitch around which the caravans and tents can be pitched.
There were 3 children in our group ages from 2 up to 7. All enjoyed the play equipment and roaming the site safely. They kept themselves amused for most of the day.
The toilet block was clean enough although did need to buy liquid soap to leave at sinks as none available to wash hands after using toilet. Water was hot in the shower. There was no extra charge to use the shower either. Could have done with x 2 showers in the ladies though. Only down side of toilet and shower block was that the light and warmth did seem to attract the May Bugs- we crushed them as not pleasant creatures but still there the next morning so not sure how often toilet block cleaned. But block was roomy and modern so shouldn't moan really.
The ice cream man visited and this went down well with children as no shop on site or nearby. There is nothing we can fault regards the site itself. Good value for money at £15-00 per night with EHU and other campers friendly and quiet. Only down side is that the site is quite close to main A41 so road noise at night was very noticable when trying to get to sleep in a tent!
Owners very helpful and allowed us to choose location to pitch. Also provided blocks to sit disposble BBQ on to prevent burning the grass and noticed other visitors using firepit which was well off the ground.
All in all pleasant stay - with lovely weather that really helps.

I would like to say a big thank you to the lovely owners of this site.
I booked a one night break for my family, 2 children, hubby and dog. I am a fussy camper when it comes to choosing location and facilities and I was not disappointed at all with this site. I loved it. The park was in the middle of camp, 'brill' the toilets were warm and very clean with nice big shower area. The pitch we stayed on was big! just right if we had put the awning up as well. Even the dog was relaxed and chilled out as any other dogs on site were all tied up to (finally found a site that insists dogs are on leads at all times) 'thank you'
The fee's were excellent as well, £15.00 inc electric and the kids and the dog!
I hope to be going back there very soon. I cant remember the name of the lovely chatty chap I spoke to who showed us were to pitch, but he was so friendly, I did knock at the door before we left but no answer, I just wanted to say 'a big thank you'

Stayed for the weekend here and was a lovely site.
Good points :
Quiet, nice new clean toilet block, clean good kids park. Quite easy to get to. Few miles from Whitchurch which has a Tesco. Friendly owner, short grass, decent size pitches, well laid out. No bright lighting at night (very dark so take torch!)
Now the few bad points:
Only 1 shower for women and 1 toilet for men but 2 showers? Was a bit confused. Limited electric voltage, we were told not to use our electric kettle. Was very cold at night so had to turn 1 heater off for a cuppa! Not really a prob though.
Apart from that its a good site and we will visit again.

We stayed here the last week of their season, leaving on their last day. We were assured that this was okay when we booked. However when we arrived we were made to feel very uncomfortable by the owner (not the same person we spoke to on phone) as there was a 'family and regulars' halloween / bonfire party and that the pitches were needed.
Basically we were told our booking should not have been accepted - so you can imagine how uncomfortable we felt. We stressed we would be leaving very early on that morning but this did not seem to help. Overall we were made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. There seemed to be a definite 'click'.
The site itself was good with decent shower and toilet facilities.
The site is well placed to visit the attractions in the area, which are numerous.
However due to the welcome we received (we also had a need to ask a couple of question as fairly new to caravanning and were made to feel a nuisance - maybe it had been a long season?) this will be one site that we would not visit again!

We have just enjoyed a lovely weekend at Green Lane. The site is immaculate - grass cut short,no litter, shrubs and trees to provide privacy between the pitches. The pitches are situated around the edge of a square field (reckon there must be approx 24) but earlier reviews mention that the middle grassed area also gets used for camping when the site is busy.
There were four children in our group ranging in ages from 2 up to 8. All enjoyed the play equipment and also making dens amongst the trees. They kept themselves amused for most of the day.
The toilet block was very clean and very warm (September nights are a bit chilly!). Water was scalding hot and water pressure in the showers was fantastic. There was no extra charge to use the showers either.
The ice cream man put in an appearance nightly (he also sells crisps, drinks and choc as there isn't a shop on site). All in all a great stay. There is nothing we can fault regards the site itself. We did wish that there was a family friendly pub nearby (but there's nothing they can do about that!) so instead we ventured into Whitchurch (10 mins drive) for fish and chips which were delicious. On the second night we tried the local Indian called Peppers - highly recommended as the food was very tasty and good value for money. We will return.

Lovely site, well laid out with hookup and hardstanding pitches round the edge and room for tents in the middle. Good clean toilet and shower facilities. Good for children too so expect to be woken early. Not so good for dogs - no where for them to have a run near the site - I did find a couple of footpaths but they were too overgrown to venture up. Owners very friendly and accommodating. No pressure to leave early!

Great site for just relaxing and watching the kids play freely without any worries. Set up ideal, immaculately kept, owners always on hand to help. Toilet block is one of the best we have seen with large flat pitches. Very friendly site, a real gem. Definitely returning. Could not fault.
