We stayed at Cosgrove Park twice last year for long weekends, even though we only live 12 miles away. But you could easily have been 200 miles away from home. Perfect for all the attractions and shopping of Milton Keynes centre with it only being about 4 miles away by road.
Despite the park having a lot of seasonal touring caravans on site, these understandably taking most of the lakeside plots. Activity in the park didn't ever seem over busy, despite there being a lots of touring caravans surrounding the numerous lakes, plus an equal number of park homes in their own areas. Children could safely be left to play in almost any area. There is an excellent dedicated play area with all the various swings and climbing frames any child could want.
Ample toilet facilities, water supply points and waste disposal points. Also, there is a brand new general supplies shop with fishing tackle shop included for 2008. All in all, as you can probably tell, we like it. A park that is clean and tidy, has very friendly/helpful staff, is well controlled yet very welcoming. In fact, we liked it so much we have taken a seasonal lakeside pitch for this 2008 season. The advantage being that we can still take the caravan off site whenever we wish and we have winter storage included. Can't ask for much more than that.

This is a large site and most things have already been said, I would agree that the showers needed curtains, you need to put your clothes in a cxarrier bag so that they don't get wet, there also needed to be more hooks, o.h. Said there weren't any in the mens, and a shelf to put shampoo e.t.c. On, had to put it on the floor Though the site is large, it was very quiet the only thing that kept us awake was the birds who seemed to think that it was daytime 24 hours because the site is so well lit. The pitches we were on were very close to the road and didn't seem to be very deep, most of the better pitches seemed to have been taken by seasonal vans of which there were a lot, which in my view made you feel a little as though you were intruding. There is a lot to see and do on this site and there is quite a large area around the lakes to walk the dog. The waterways museum is not far away at Stoke Bruerne, you can walk from the site along the canal but it is a few miles. The museum gives you all the history of the canals and local area and outside there are all the brightly painted narrow boats where people are only to pleased to talk to you and some will even show you around. There is a gift shop cafe and a couple of pubs right on the river. Though we enjoyed the weekend I don't think I would go here again as we like smaller sites.

This site is easy to find, but you may feel that you are going the wrong way depending on which way you are coming in from, as it takes you through a narrow village, very twisty and turny, not good if you have a caravan on the back. However upon arriving at the site, we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception, who checked us in quickly and efficiently. We also booked use of the Wi_Fi network £10 for a weeks unliminted usage. This site is very regimented in the sense that it is roadways all the way round with marked pitches, seperated by small bushes. Pitch sizes are ok and we found we had plenty of space for the caravan, awning, car, table and four chairs. There are lots of toilet blocks on this site, however the one I used, nearest the childrens playarea, had no locks on any of the doors, so using them was rather more difficult than it should have been. The showers were ok, however by simply putting in shower curtains would get rid of the wet clothes and towel when you step out! Other than those gripes they were clean and kept tidy. There is plenty for the kids to do, with an outdoor swimming pool, huge play area, plenty of fishing lakes, boating lakes, cycling, walking , playing fields and general chilling out, my kids were non stop the whole time. The fishing lakes, according to the friends I was with, were useless, they sat there for hours and did not catch a thing, four of them bored and fed up. After two days of nothing, they decided to jump in the car and head to some decent lakes about 20 minutes away. There is a great tackle shop on-site and the guy running it knows his stuff. There is a large shop on-site selling all your everyday essentials and for a larger shop there is an Asda about 10 minutes away. There is a cafe on site, although I did not eat there. This site is located near Milton Keynes, so good if you are going to a concert or want to go skiing or shopping, Milton Keynes is a fab shopping tiwn with Centre MK and so much more. There is no pub on-site and I did not venture to any in the area, however there is one, about 500 yards from the site entrance. the Wi-Fi signal was poor in the pitch we were on and would not work if we sat in the caravan, so had to work in the awning, not ideal but got the job done. There is a very strict 11pm no-noise rule, which the security enforced as they drove continuosly around the site. Would I go again, yes definitely, £20 a night though, but this site is all singing all dancing. A few simply updates, locks on toilet doors and shower curtains and this site would be spot on!

Mainly a site where people seem to live , even in tourers. The site is mainly static vans ( field after field - you know the type) By the time you get to the packed touring fields (deeper into the park) you can see that most of the tourers don`t tour. - looking at the length of the grass growing round the awnings & the fact that the vans are very old, some without wheels ,one held up with a car jack at a very odd angle.
After managing to pitch on the soggy mud rectangle we were given we took the long walk back to the play area, quite a way , so if you have two young kids like us.., think on. And we were one of the nearer ones , from the farthest field you need a bike, either way you can`t just let the kids out to play. This is the only play area.
When you read that a site has rules and regs ,coupled with the fact that it cost £19 a night (we booked in for two) then you expect the people on the site to adhere to certain standards - at least we do. So when the middle aged couple and their pals on the plot behind us started a drunken binge at 9pm we certainly did not expect the noise to go on until 3am in the morning! To top it all, at 2am the van in front decided to play classical music to drown out some of the noise!

May 2005 Have just returned from our third visit here and, although the expansion work going on looks like it could be impressive, the bathroom facilities are not enough for the amount of campers. Furthermore, as of April 2005 they no longer take tents!!!!!!!!!!!

August 2004 It was our first ever time camping. We thoroughly enjoyed it - apart from the Goose Poo! We have two children and we took our bikes. We camped in the far field and it was great. The kids loved cycling around and the bikes were very useful as it is a very large camp site.
The play area was excellent and the swimming pool was very well supervised - but cold! The fish and chips were very greasy. Overall impression was very good and we will definitely go back again.

June 2004 This is a nice site. When you arrive it can seem a bit offputting as you drive through the barriers (not literally) and go past the mobile homes for sale, and rows and rows of static homes and caravans. A bit further in and there are a few fields with tents, though the site does seem to have more caravans than anything else. For children, there is a brilliant play area, fenced off with plenty to go on. Also a swimming pool and the dreaded slot machine arcade. Traffic is slow around the site and it feels very relaxed. There is a lake where we watched lots of water skiers, also a field with football goals in and some paths for walks. The site is large and it's quite a walk if you are in the bottom field where we were and fancy some fish and chips. A bike would be handy if you just need something from the shop or takeaway, though some people were driving. For ladies the new toilet block is lovely, spotless and nice hot showers. It is worth the walk, rather than the kind of portaloo blocks elsewhere. If you have everything you need in your caravan or you're in a tent and don't mind walking then its an excellent site.

June 2004 Lovely site with great facilities (if you like fishing!). we took the smart move of arriving directly after a Bank holiday weekend, the caravan section was heaving, but we had vast areas in the camping field to ourselves.
The swimming pool had arctic temperatures (I had never seen children dive out of a pool before).
Excellent shop and takeaway, but the site needed more washing facilities. I needed to walk over half a mile round trip to use an electric shaver (the nearest toilet block was a temporary one with no electricity). Washing up was worse - probably 3/4 mile round trip and only two sinks for a site of thousands!
That said, it was a great site on balance.

27 & 28 May 2003 I have just returned from one nights' stay at Cosgrove with just myself and my teo boys aged 10 and 6 - my husband was left to go to work.
We went to the campsite twice last year as well. We find the site exceptionally good for the children as the play area is very good. They also have a field where they can play football. There is crazy golf, an amusement arcade and a swimming pool (but even though the weather was warm it was not open when we visited). This time though my boys found it fun cycling around the park - nearly a mile or so each lap and 18 road humps later we have done a circular trip. Unfortunately, we hadn't planned for the on-site fish and chip shop to be closed so we had to make a trip into Milton Keynes for dinner on Tuesday night as we hadn't brought anything for dinner - and there was no sign on the door to say if it was opening or not. The toilet and shower blocks were OK. The newly built one was a lot nicer.
I was a little anxious about going on my own with the boys but at no stage was I worried about security as there is a patrol at nights and a lot of people coming and going.
Well worth a visit - nice and peaceful but with attractions for the children.

Easter 2003 Have just got back from an easter break & have to say how much we enjoyed our visit there. The park was very spacious and there was plenty for the younger children (the play area is very good), although I could imagine that that it could be tiresome with teenagers. The shop was reasonably well stocked, but we tended to eat out at a pub in the neighbouring village (also with a play area). There is a lot of water on this park, so we did have to keep an eye on the children, but they thorougly enjoyed watching the water skiiers & feeding the ducks. Our toilets & showers were in a portakabin, with a newly built block just across the road not yet open. Given this, they were more than adequate. All in all, a very enjoyable experience which we would highly recommend.
NB Did I mention that my wife blew £250 on the credit card in Milton Keynes shopping centre!!!
