I have just come back from this site after spending the bank holiday weekend here camping. The site was as to be expected, extremely busy, but this didn’t have any effect on our stay. It cost £22 per night for 2 adults and 2 children, we did think this to be a little pricey as we didn’t have EHU, and there was no on-site club. All of the camping pitches apart from one or two were on a slope but not a problem to be honest. We were pitched on the third camping field without electric hook up, which had the most magnificent views over the beach and the sunset was just outstanding. The access path to the beach was 1min walk over the train lines, and the beach was lovely and clean, my little one loved watching the trains that passed a couple of times a day and this added to the character of the site. There is a small children’s play area, on site shop stocking most things and a take-a-way also on site. About a 5min walk was a pub and a fish & chip shop. The showers and toilet block leave a little to be desired, they were rather dated and it was 50p for a 4min shower which took 2mins to get to a reasonable temperature, they were a bit of a trek from the camping pitch, but for a long weekend it was tolerable. Also in this area was the laundry and dish washing area which I was surprised to find for such a big site had only 2 washing up areas so sometimes there was a bit of a wait. They did have a dog walking area but we did notice that some owners didn’t clean up after their dogs even around the camping area but that I guess is down to the people and not the campsite owners. On the whole we had a wonderful time here and would definitely consider visiting this site again.

Just returned from this site. I took my wife for her first camping experience and it was excellent. The staff were very courteous and friendly, and would go out of their way to help. The site itself is immaculate with superb views over the beach and the bay. Although the toilets and shower block are a bit of a trek (approx 5 mins walk) this is the only downside to what is otherwise a beautifully kept site. I would recommend this site to anyone, although not to everyone as I WILL be visiting again and I want to make sure that there is enough space for me!

A great site that was found by accident. Fantasic views, laid back atmosphere. Lovely pubs close by and its a lovely walk to Barmouth via the beach. The only downside Toilets and showers are a fair walk away and at extra cos but I would recommend this site over other campsite nearer Barmouth.

Just had half term from here. The site is in a nice location, situated right on the beach! about a 1 minute walk away! We stayed in a caravan (nothing on site was open as it was out of season), the caravan was immaculate had all the mod cons. It is a fair trek away from Barmouth however, but on a nice warm night you could always walk down the beach to Barmouth! I'd go here again!

August 2003 Have been to this site many times for Bank holiday weekends. We arrive on Friday nights to get a good space as Saturdays can get busy and you might end up camping in the middle of the field rather than sheltered by the wall.
Site is clean and only 1min walk to the beach. There is a small play area for the kids and a large empty field for them to play in. Only thing I complain about is the long walk to the toilets from the camping area. Toilets are in the middle of the static caravan area, takes a good 5 mins. Toilets are kept clean, showers cost 50p but you do get a good shower for 50p. Shop is well stocked but a little pricey. Also close to the pub and the chip shop. Chip shop is very small, busy and quite expensive but very nice. Barnmouth is about 10 mins drive away but you can walk along the beach if the tide is right out.

July 2003 Good clean site, but camping areas are on the hill so few level pitches. Shop onsite a bit expensive but that's what you'd expect miles from the town shops. Definitely recommend the bacon butties and breakfast trays from the shop too.
At the bottom of the site is an access road over the railway line straight on to the beach, with a separate dog-walking field adjacent.
Best of all is the Wayside pub, just 100yards away. A good decent family pub with good meals, good beers and a children's play room (table tennis, video games etc). The Wayside also has an attached fish n chip shop to save on cooking.
Fees in 2003 were £5 per adult in our tent, not sure if it's more for caravans etc.
This is a nice family site and is well suited for Barmouth, 40mins walk or 5mins drive.

August 2003 Wash rooms are 5 min walk from camping area. Showers cost 50p for hot water, the cold water you get for free. The sinks have free hot water. Toilet's are clean but basic. There is a well stocked shop on the site but expensive. The staff were very friendly. I found the distance is too far from Barmouth for young children to walk. The camping area is situated on a slight slope and although there are some walls around the edge of the camping area the wind can blow down fron the hills quite strong.
The Caravan area is very well kept, I did not see any litter on the site.
The walk to the beach takes only minutes, but I did notice people walked their dogs in the field next to the beach and left dog poop everywhere.

August 2001 Stayed here 2 years ago and many times since. Superb site, clean facilities, though a 5 minute walk to wash rooms. Good quality, friendly owners with on site shop (quite expensive). Would recommend to anyone, lots of static caravans on site with jet skis. Based on beach, about 30 minute walk to Barmouth along beach. Thoroughly enjoyed this site and would stay there again.
