What a wonderful campsite. It is right on the beach, which was really nice for a late evening walk watching the sunset.
The campsite has very clean facilities and benefits from an on site shop and takeaway cafe.
The town of Barmouth is either a short drive or long stroll away and is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Wales.

Fantastic site. Stayed here many times as a family. Close to the beach, clean facilities. Fantastic new shower blocks and toilets placed on the camping field so now we don't have to walk as far, as before the block was in the middle of the caravans.
Camping field is a slope so you have to try and find the flattest bits.
Shop is well stocked and fairly cheap selling hot and cold drinks, food and snacks.
Security is fantastic with a new security gate in place and one way system for cars.
Staff are helpful and friendly.
There's two ways down to the beach from both camping fields. We prefer the camping field at the back as there's less of a slope. Access to the beach here is over a train track but there are gates in place.
Dog friendly with a large dog run area but you do have to keep your dog on the lead.
Child friendly. There is a park and football field just down from the campsite. It's behind the boat park which is a bit of a shame as you can't really see the kids from the tent as the boats block the view. But the park is fun and clean.
Water taps throughout the field. Hook up at the bottom of the field which although is the flattest part, the wall blocks your view of the sea and your right next to the boat yard. We prefer to camp up the top of the hill so you can have a fantastic view of the sea and sunsets.
We've visited around 15-20 times in the last 5 years and will continue to do so as we absolutely love the place!

Our favourite place to stay! Next to the beach, not much on site but that's how we like it.
Sadly this time there were some very loud people til early hours who stopped my kids from sleeping but guess they were enjoying their stay as well.
Has a park on site for kids, new toilet and shower blocks which are lovely and kept clean. Staff are very friendly

Everything was perfect, the staff, facilities, location.
It was very clean, including toilets, showers and grounds.
The site catered for tents, touring caravans, pods and motorhomes.

Good location and friendly, well priced shop. Very unlevel pitches. Man hole covered with paving slab on my pitch.
Showers and toilets were last re vamped in the 1950"s. No covid restrictions, except for posters and hand gel. Sinks overflowing, 1 of 3 ladies showers not working for the whole of my stay. Lighting in toilet block very poor. Most definitely wouldn't recommend

Just got back from a few days camping at the site. Great location for Barmouth and lovely quiet beach that is dog friendly.
Walked into Barmouth along the road and walked back by beach (less hilly, but beware may have to jump or paddle through a few little streams - not deep but easy to get trainers wet!). Both ways took around 50 minutes but we did take our time, would say the beach way is probably the quickest. Very busy town in school holidays so parking can be a problem at times. So if your fit enough and like walks, walking into the town is a great option to have.
Toilets and showers a bit dated but perfectly adequate. We were parked on the lower field which was much quieter (less busy and less traffic noise), though further to the toilets / showers, but we didn't feel it was overly too far - we have been about the same distance away in other sites - just more awkward as you have to go between caravans.
Staff very friendly, nice play area for the kids by the lower field and another access point to the beach from there too. There is a railway line to cross to the beach so something to be aware of for those with children.
Perfect for us and will definitely be back.

I found this to be the most reasonably priced site in the area; some sites with really awful facilities were asking the same or more.
The gent in reception was welcoming and understanding, and allowed me to move my pitch without demur (it was very quiet at the time, surprisingly).
The 4 touring fields were in good condition and well mowed, but are all on a slope, quite steep in places. The top 2 small fields are near the entrance, next to the fast main road and one set of toilets/showers. The 2 larger fields are quieter and nearer to the central toilet/shower block. Water and rubbish disposal were good and handy.
I get the impression that the business is now mainly concerned with the more profitable static vans which occupy most of the site, and the touring side is being left behind. The showers and toilets are very old, with some of the stuff being on its last legs. In the top block there is hot water but no cold (?) in the tiny sinks. The male toilet was flooded. The capacious lower block is better and cleaner but still not good.
The views out of the site are very nice, over the sea to the Lleyn. The beach over the quiet railway line is excellent for a kids or dogs holiday- miles of it.
It is 2 miles straight into Barmouth with its real and touristy shops (the Coop by the railway station is popular), and all the traditional seaside fun and parking charges. There are a series of advertised walks in the steep hills behind the town, but most are a bit much for a casual walker.
The wider area is lovely for scenery, with views extending from Anglesey to south west Wales if you go high enough and it's clear. Taking a ride inland from Llanbedr is stunning, but take someone to open and close the gates.

Perfect in every way. A true gem we happen to stumble across this campsite and I felt that it was the best we have visit since coming to Barmouth since the 90's. Great location a stones throw from the beach.
