Stayed here for 3 nights during our 3wk cornwall tour.
Site as fore mentioned is lovely, facilities ex & not over priced, quite centrally located to get to the whole area inc landsend & lizard point & based on this we would recommend.
Super farm shop 1/2 mile away.
We weren't that keen on hayle & found st. Ives too busy. There are a number of pubs in the surrounding villages but we struggled to find a beach side pub in the eve, but we did find a lovely pub at praa sands overlooking a lovely beach & we made this our haunt during our stay.
Area not particularly dog friendly, most if not all beaches are closed for dogs before 7pm, so ruined our day with 3 lively boxers to entertain & for this reason we probably wont be visiting this part of cornwall again for a while, beaches north of perranporth are fine.

Just returned from a week at Trevaskis, where the high standards mentioned in previous postings are being maintained.
Friendly, welcoming people, pitches that are spacious and well maintained, and washing facilities that are spotless.
The park is well sited for visiting Penzance, Lands End, St Ives and the Lizard, There are beaches nearby, including dog-friendly beaches at Gwithian (after 7pm) and Long Rock - on the way into Penzance. Having said that, there are some pleasant walks along the pathways near to the park, plus some good pubs nearby.
I've posted about this site before, and am happy to say we'll be back again.

We chose a lovely week to be in Cornwall and wow what a nice campsite. We were greeted with a warm welcome & shown to our spacious pitch by Duncan on his bike. I must say of all the campsites we have been to this was the probably the cleanest.
Hot water on tap all the time, the campsite was very well organised with cleaning cloths & mops available to use, not once was there any shortage of soap, loo roll etc or any rubbish around. There is a children's play area away from the tents also a small footie pitch. One night two ladies from a local restaurant came to the site & cooked Paella under a gazebo which was a nice touch.
The site is very well situated for the beautiful beach at Gwithian, also near by you have Penzance & St. Ives. There is a nice farm shop just up the road.
We will definitely stay at Higher Trevaskis again and recommend it to all good campers as it has a wonderful feel about the place and is run by such nice, friendly, hardworking and organised people.

Just returned from a weeks stay and what a fantastic site. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and kept the site very clean.
Wouldn't like to say how many times a day the toilets and showers are cleaned and re-stocked, they were immaculate all week.
Showers were always hot, and the pot washing facilities had constant hot water no matter what time of day/night we used them.
Beautiful beach at Gwithian, a 5 minute drive from the campsite. There is a Tesco store in St Ives and a very good COOP in Hayle.
We ate at The Bucket of Blood pub in Hayle and had a very enjoyable meal. All in all we had a great week and can't wait to return.

We stayed here for 2 weeks, including the Diamond Jubilee weekend and were really impressed by this site. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The showers and toilets were always immaculately clean and there was plenty of hot water in the showers.
We took our two dogs at no extra charge - there were quite a few dogs on the site but they were all very well behaved.
There was a play area for younger children and an area for older children to play ball games. It was a very quiet site and the pitches were a very good size.
The site is well located being only a short drive to the beaches and shops of St Ives, Hayle and Penzance, as well as Camborne, Redruth, Truro and the Lizard Peninsula. The Gold Centre at Portreath is free and dog friendly.
One tip is, if you fancy going into St Ives, which can be extremely busy, the traffic can be horrendous and parking can be difficult and expensive, you can use the Park and Ride at Lelant Saltings and catch the scenic coastal train into St Ives. The service usually costs £8 for group travel including parking and train tickets.
The 'Trevaskis Farm Shop' just down the road has a good restaurant and the desserts are absolutely fantastic, with huge portions. We went there for Sunday lunch and even breakfast one morning. They also do good food at the 'Table Table' restaurant at Camborne. 'Salt' bar and grill in Hayle is dog friendly and is a great place to eat and drink, or even just enjoy a coffee. If you prefer fish and chips I recommend 'Becks' in Carbis Bay, closely followed by 'Sanders' in Hayle. For pasties 'Philps' in Hayle is very popular, with long queues out the door if you don't get there early enough, the pasties are really big.
Overall, this site is well worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

My family & I have been coming here since 2004, the year of the Boscastle floods. I left a positive review in July 2008, and am pleased to say the high standards Duncan, Johanna and Linda were providing then haven't diminished!
Lovely site, well positioned for trips to St Ives, Penzance and the Lizard. Spacious pitches, very dog & child friendly-there's usually a 'dads & kids' football match on Wednesday too! Toilet/shower/laundry block immaculately clean. Beaches are a short drive away, including 'dog friendly' beaches.
Friendly, helpful people, quiet, well run campsite. We'll be back! :)

We spent 9 days camping at this wonderful site. Everything is very well kept and the owners are helpful and friendly. After showing us to our pitch they left us to get on with things but were always around if we needed anything. The pitches are flat and of a generous size.
The on site shop stocks basic items such as milk, bread and a few tinned items and has two freezers for ice packs. You can also order your daily paper.
The facilities are clean with plenty of hot water in the toilets and free showers.
There is a separate field for ball games and a small area with swings and table tennis table.
The site is not too far from Hayle, which has a good selection of shops and a well stocked Co-op and the beaches of Gwithian and Godrevy are only a short drive away.
Highly recommended. We can’t wait to go back.

This is a really excellent campsite. We stayed here for 10 days and are now planning to return.
Even when the site was pretty full, there was plenty of space on the pitches, it never felt crowded and the toilets and showers were kept very clean at all times.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful or efficient and were a constant friendly presence on the site. There was a very nice family atmosphere all round, with peace and quiet ruling after about 10pm.
The location is good - within easy distance of both the North and South coasts of Cornwall with excellent beaches. The site has an area for ball games for the children and a small shop, with an excellent farm shop just down the road, and supermarkets a short car ride away.
The ground was well drained (although consequently in places a bit hard to get larger pegs in!) and level.
This was one of the best campsites we have stayed at over the years and we and our children thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We chose this site after reading it's reviews. We were not dissapointed, spotless facilities, lots of hot water, never had to queue for a shower.
The owners Duncan & Johanna are very friendly and helpful, not forgetting Linda who was always cheerful too!
I would say this is a first class site. We took our 3 dogs who loved the sand dunes and beach at Gwithian, some good bridle paths to walk dogs on close to site.
The farm shop is worth a visit for pick your own or try the restaurant, the cakes are amazing !
Have booked to go back later in the year and also next year.

I can only agree whole heartedly with the oustanding reviews that I read about this site prior to visiting it.This is a little gem of a site.Situated within very easy access of the A39 and ideally located for anyone wishing to visit West Cornwall in general but the Hayle / St.Ives area in particular.
The grounds of the site are immaculate tended to daily by the site owner Duncan who is very approachable and extremely helpful. The shower/toilet block is one of the cleanest that we have visited and hot water was readily available.
The site has different levels all easy to tow into. Our unit is a twin axle and we had no trouble whatsoever. Will we be using it again - definitely. And if you go be on the look out for the site cat 'Mr Prince'. A real character.
Local supermarkets and farm shops are within a mile of the site but the small site shop stocks essentials and was priced very reasonably.
