Visited this site on a weekend when the rest of Wales was getting soaked and the weather was in the main glorious!
Site is really clean and the tent pitches are good and flat. Wonderful views from the fields and very quiet, ideal for a get away from it all chill out weekend.
Toilets and showers spotless but 20p coin metered, £1 for a 10 minute shower is a bit annoying but you can't complain when a pitch only cost £7 a night for a 4 man tent so I guess it evens out against other sites.
Walk to Aberdaron is under an hour and you can do it by road or cliffs. When you get there great fish and chips and also good pub with a terrace that overhangs the beach. Parking in Aberdaron is difficult and clearly a local issue so would recommend walking rather than driving there in the evening.
Also only a short drive to Hell's Mouth for great surf.

Loved this site. Be warned thin track and a bit of 'fun' to locate gag one of you and you should be fine. Once there well worth it. You pull in to a log cabin reception with little shop and cafe wardens are lovely big bonus to the site.
In front of that is a stone built shower block very prettily decorated. Showers were fab. There are then 3 fields left in front and to right and with negotiation you can choose. It is windy you don't get a sea view but of hills for miles and the cliff edge is s short walk out of site to left and breathtaking ask for info.
Aberdaron is so pretty and we got 2 super welsh steaks and a dressed crab yummy beach gorgeous just love it! we actually sunbathed at whistling sands in April.
Got chatting to end hobby van residents and they lent us map which made our hols as we found all the cosy coves. A must area.

This is an beautiful and amazing site, that we had the pleasure of getting onto. This is definite a treasure worth finding. The views are breathtaking.
There were a couple of vans that came with us all family mixed adults, teenagers and kids. Ty Newyedd owners are very friendly and always around as they are in the cafe which serves food daily. It is a site that both me and my husband said that felt safe for your children, they were happy to roam around and play with the other children around the fields.
There are plenty of water points around, the chemical disposal is kept clean. Toilets and showers again kept spotless. Showers 20p meter, only 2 showers so could have to wait in the busier times.
We had a fantastic bank holiday, the weather also made it as it was lovely and sunny, but am certainly looking forward to go back (if we can get on that is!)
Oh just to warn you nervous drivers, the lanes to get to Ty Newydd are also abit breathtaking, but well worth it when you get there.

Many thanks to Marion for a lovely stay.
This is a clean site and well maintained with level pitches earmarked by longer grass in between so you don't take up too much room. A large touring area, seasonal area and tent field. Can be breezy but you are by the sea so expected. They all had awnings up.Dog field located behind tents. There is no playground. There is a welcoming reception area and cafe. Wardens are the nicest I've come across and seasonals were very friendly. Shower block clean enough but not heated. Shower £1 for 10 mins. Electrics may trip if you try to overdo it. We paid £11 pn v. Good value.
Lead up to site is narrow and not for faint hearted but you shouldn't let this put you off. DO NOT take road into Aberdaron head for UCHMYNDD! Please see website for map and once on lane to uchmyndd just follow the main lane don't panic you're lost keep going past lots of farmsteads you will get there!
Fantastic views 100 yards from site of cliffs and sea.
Aberdaron is a 10 minutes drive or 3-4 mile walk away with Spar with super meat counter, no alcohol go to papershop.Dressed crab from cafe was yummy.Very quaint village and super clean beach no dogs may-sept. 2 pubs one right on beach felt like I was abroad.
You will find dog beaches in summer ask Marion.
Whistling Sands has a cafe and is so secluded really breathtaking.
Very little to spend on as mentioned, we spent £30 without food!.
Not for those who want to be amongst it this is an 'in the sticks site' but this meant we had a whole touring field to ourselves until BH Friday then it was packed! Didn't like kids playing leather football in touring field but that's just me. They did upset someones table with the ball.
We visited Pwhelli nice beach, Llanbedrog gorgeous beach, Hells Mouth bit dirty tide line due to winds but super surf. Abersoch too busy for us.
This was our best holiday in 3 years we are going back in summer the area is just so pretty nicer than cornwall and we love it there. Highly recommend for tranquillity. You really come back feeling you've been away from it all.

All the previous reviews are bang on. Basic site, very clean, very friendly and in an amazing part of the world. It is one of the last pieces of UK paradise.
Pitches big some with decking, launched a boat from the nearby village. The slipway down to the beach is next to a hotel which has great food and a balcony overlooking the sea. Great fishing and dropped a few lobster pots, kids loved it. Nothing to really spend your money on. Wow
The single track lanes are not for the faint hearted with a tourer but worth it and don't trust the sat nav, follow the map and signs. Out the site and turn left and within minutes into great views and walks. A few minutes from fishermans cove, bought some shellfish straight off the fishing boat. Will be back. Nearest A&E is 50 miles! Fell climbing down to a small inlet, went back when plastered up and got a Bass, well worth it. 10/10

Arrived Friday in glorious weather - by the following evening rain and gales. The site is situated at the end of the peninsula so it does get windy - but the views make it well worth staying.
Despite the weather we thoroughly enjoyed this site. The landscaping is in keeping with the area, pitches are well spaced out, cafe serving food was excellent. Small pots of garden flowers for sale. All in all terrific site.
If you want to go anywhere you need to walk a fair way or drive. Aberdaron is lovely - but would say a good 30 minutes walk (maybe less for the fitter)- well worth the effort.
The only downside for us a few kids playing ball games in the middle of the touring field - no we aren't kill joys but having a football hit your windows on more than one occasion does become annoying.
All in all highly recommend this site - we will go back for sure

- A medium sized campsite which was well kept and situated right on the tip of the peninsula.
- AMAZING VALUE at £6.50 a night! We stayed there twice as long as we planned!
- Cafe on site with helpful, cheerful staff.
- Showers 20p a go, shower block outside decorated artistically.
- I enjoyed many walks to the cliff edge, overlooking Bardsey Island and the expanse of sea. One clear day I even saw the hills of Ireland.
- Lots of bird life, I saw Stonechats, Rock Pipits, Merlins and Gannets.
- We drove 3 mins to the highest hill where there was an old Coastguards hut, and outstanding panoramic views over the whole of the Llyn Peninsula.
- Shops, restaurants and beach a short car journey away at Aberdaron.

We chose this site for it's location & dog friendly attitude and weren't disappointed. The large caravan spaces and choice of position at this time of the year was an added bonus. The on-site cafe and friendly staff plus plenty of sunshine made our holiday very memorable. Site facilities i.E. Showers & toilets kept extremely clean & tidy. Plenty of room for ball-games etc. One thing to remember, if you are taking your pet on holiday, is that not all the beaches are 'dog friendly'. Some, quite rightly have a 'dog friendly' area but obviously those people who do not 'pick-up' after their dogs have created the problem.

Just spent a few days on this site but had to come home early as the weather deteriorated, but that's not the sites fault. The owners are really friendly & always available for help or advice, the site is divided into several fields one without EHU for small tents all the others have EHU around the outer edge with plenty of space in the middle for kids etc. The ground has a few stones in but nothing to cause a problem & for the most part is nice & level. The showers & toilet block are near the entrance but not far from any single pitch,as its a quiet site the facilities are good enough but I feel as word of this site gets around it may need to expand the blocks. Toilets are always clean with soap & paper provided & showers are red hot but 20p a go & you need 2 for a decent shower. There is also a chemical disposal point & washing up area, this is the only gripe as there are 2 sinks but only one drainer however the water is always hot & I found it easier to get hot water in a rubber trug & do the pots at the tent. BBQs are allowed on slabs provided to protect the grass but some clowns found this too difficult while we were there. There is a field at the top of the site where you can let the dogs of the lead for a run. The site also has a nice cafe that does Breakfast, dinner ,packed lunches & specials like a curry night. Though a bit on the dear side it is cheaper than driving somewhere & from what I could tell good grub. If you take ice packs in to the cafe they will freeze them for you & give you some in exchange. This is a very quiet site & is extremely cheap ,£8.50 a night at bank holiday for 4 adults a dog 2 cars & EHU. The only thing is when we were there the wind was up & comes straight off the sea but in summer with calm weather it would be a great little sun trap. 5 minutes in a car & you are in Aberdarren with a Spar papershop that sells beer, bakery post office & 2 pubs, one of which is right on the beach with the waves coming up to the wall. Would I go again??????, yes but later in the year as we went for the sea fishing & the wind made it dangerous on the rocks. I have to say though, this is probably the best value for money site we have stayed at so long as you dont want a holiday camp. One other thing, there is a picture on the toilet block wall of the local area, when you look at it , its a mosaic from broken tiles.
