Just returned from spending Easter camping with our 2 kids at this spectacularly scenic site. The views are stunning and you are far from the madding crowds. Our radio tuned into RTE from Ireland rather than BBC stations! The owners are friendly and helpful and the small cafe/shop on site could be particularly useful in bad weather since Aberdaron is quite a way off down very narrow lanes. The fields were clean, clear dry and level and the pitches generously sized as we have a whopping great big tent. The showers cost 20p and are a little temperamental but the facilities are clean. My only moan is that there are only 2 washing up sinks and one drainer so only one person / family can wash up properly at a time.

If you want a quiet break away from it all then Ty-newydd Farm is perfect, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The site is very tidy and well looked after, it has it's own shop / cafe which is very handy if you forget the essentials, we did not eat in the cafe but it seemed quiet busy so I'm sure the food must be good. Toilets and showers were very clean, however please be warned that there are only two showers so be prepared to queue. The site suffers from low water pressure, so if you've put your 20p in the shower and someone flushes the loo then the shower will go from a nice warm flow to a scorching hot trickle without warning. Despite the thing the water pressure in the showers we had a nice break here and would go back again in the future.

What a wonderful week's holiday we have just had! The campsite was very well thought out, a very natural feeling environment with loads of space allocated for each pitch, The children loved the open space in the middle of the field where they could play without affecting other campers, they totally forgot about their computers etc. they had left at home. We were so impressed by the friendliness of the owners and how hard they worked to ensure the site ran smoothly. The showers were always spotlessly clean and their unreliability was genuinely down to a temporary water pressure problems, which was out of their control. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site for a traditional camping holiday. We were lucky enough to have glorious weather and so relished the beautiful beaches and clear waters. This is the sort of place you can have a holiday, how you remember holidaying as a child, enjoy.

This campsite is beautiful! The views of Bardsey Island are amazing and if you get the weather there is no better place ! It is so cheap- we paid under 6 quid per night for two people, tent, car and a dog! In total! The previous review says the rest! Enjoy (there is nothing about the price that should make you suspicious- cheap as chips but spanking clean loos and showers, friendly, great pitches, fab location!)

We only spent 2 nights at this campsite, but we really enjoyed it. Ty-Newydd Farm is a family run campsite. The owners are nice friendly people, helpful and hardworking. They keep their campsite nice and clean and strive to make you feel welcome. Although there were only 3 toilets for the women and 2 for the men (plus a large urinal trough) they were always kept CLEAN and well stocked with soft toilet roll. In both toilet blocks there were 2 washhand basins with shelves and wallhooks and Shaver Sockets for the men. There were 2 large shower rooms(also very CLEAN) with a bench and wall hooks to place your belongings.Showers cost 20p and you had long enough to have a shower although you could not dawdle. There were occasional queues for the showers.
The owners have gone to great lenghs to make the ground level and are slowly dividing the fields to make smaller plots. When you pitch your tent i would advise that you pitch your tent correctly and use all your guy ropes. We had 2 beautiful sunny days with hardly a breeze, then at about 5am we were woken by a howling wind and driving rain (this was on the day we were leaving) fortunately for us it died down at about 11am.
There is a small shop on the site which has a few essentials. Some of their items are actually cheaper than the closest shop(SPAR in Aberdaron) There are 2 hills nearby, both within walking distance (1 you can drive to the top)with STUNNING 360 degree views. Both hills give you great views of Bardsey Island, the surrounding countryside, the mountains in Snowdonia National Park, sea views and on clear days you can see Ireland. On a clear evening you get to see some of the most beautiful sunset sky's.
There are 4 beaches nearby, 2 are about a 10 minute drive away. This is an ideal place for walkers, photographers, cyclists and families. It cost us just £5.50p per night for a large family sized tent. The only negative comment we could make is that there were no electric plug sockets anywhere for a hairdrier. We would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone.
