Faultless; this family owned site was superb in every respect with spacious pitches and a quiet relaxed atmosphere, even in the half term we were there! It has excellent, clean amenities which is a prerequisite for us, friendly staff and a nice safe playground for the kids. Our eldest (9 years old) believes it to be one of the best site we have stayed on! There are 40 acres of woodland to explore owned by the site for walking with or without dog. A great countryside setting with lots to do in the area if you're prepared to drive.

I found the site extremely quiet (got there on the Monday) Very Clean with friendly staff. Large pitches. It has its own fishing lake and stretch on canal just a couple of minutes to lake and about 5 mins to Canal. Its the sister site to the Ranch in the Broadway. Good clean loos no swimming pool. 2 pubs within a 1-2 mile radius reasonably good food. All within easy reach of Ellesmere, Whitchurch, Wem, Oswestry, Shrewsbury. We will definitely go again. The shop is not open for long and nearest shop is about 4-5 miles and for some reason they do not have any washing up facilities which I find strange if they had I would have given it a 5 star rating. My BBQ is too big for the Caravan sink, hence the moan, but well worth another visit.

A really lovely site. We normally don't like sites, that have a lot of pitches and have statics and children's play areas. But the adults only area sold it to us and we were pleasantly surprised. Although the site is large, it is well thought out and peaceful. We stayed over a bank holiday weekend and it still didn't feel noisy or too busy. The adult only field is on a slope and so take your ramps (although there is plenty of bits of wood around that you can use to 'prop' your van up). We backed onto the privately owned woodland, which is great for walking. It also leads onto the canal, which again is lovely and peaceful, and you can sit and watch the barges go by. There is a fishing lake on site, and the whole area is geared up to 'get back to nature'. The owners have clearly put a great deal of thought, time and money into the site. The only tiny thing that lets the site down is the toilet and shower areas. They are clean, but a bit old, but don't let this put you off. We shall visit again.

June 2005 We have just returned from a two night stay at Fernwood and we had a great time. The site is very quiet and is beautiful, well kept clean and tidy landscaped gardens around the pitches with lots of trees and plants. The pitches are good with plenty of room and plenty of space between them. There is a small shop which sells all the basics and a nice childrens play area. The toilet block was a bit dissapointing,it was clean but old and basic not what you expect after seeing that the rest of the site at such a high standard. There is a beautiful fishing lake on the site which is perfect for a relaxing walk and you can also get to the canal.
Ellesmere is just a short drive and is a nice little town with not many shops but all you could need, bakery, butchers post office, chemist, cafes, pubs etc. From there we went to the Mere(a huge lake)where we bought a bag of duck food for 30p and fed the ducks, swans and geese which our 8mth old daughter loved! There is a cafe on the Mere where we had a lovely lunch,it was puite posh, you were shown to your table and waited on,but the prices were very resonable and the food was really nice with plenty of choice. Wem is also just a short drive away. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

2003 Really lovely site, showers spotlessly clean. Staff both around the site and in the shop really helpful.
As there was only the two of us, we were put on the adults only field, which, although not against children, having one ourselves, it was nice just to have the peace and quiet.
Some really good pubs in the area for meals, and Shrewsbury is not that far away which is a really good shopping centre.
Would return again, and we are thinking of trying it's sister company, Ranch.

April 2004 We visited the site over Easter 2004. It was our first outing since purchasing our caravan. Our son loved all the open space and woodland walks, the shower facilities were excellent - lovely and clean, the staff were frendly and I would recommend this site. We are planning to visit again later in the year.

April, November 2003 A really pleasant site with fantastic walks (Woods and lake walk available) and really quiet at the times of year that we visited. Seperate adult and family fields. Showers very clean and a shop on site. I would recommend this site and plan to visit again this year.
