We are hoping this will be our go to place for bank holidays, had live entertainment, fishing, woodland and canal walks with my dog.
My only niggle would be that the shower was cold when I used it and the water didn't seem to spray out - not much pressure, however we used the caravan one so this wasn't a problem, the shower blocks are new and clean.
Judith the lady who greeted us was friendly and the site is quiet. We shall definitely return.
There are a few good pubs locally with good food.
We brought most of our food with us, so did not use a shop nearby.
We stayed on the site to walk and fish so didn't visit the local area.

Beautiful well laid out site, comprising of touring pitches, seasonal pitches and holiday homes (static caravans).
The whole site is set in about 60 acres of mature woodland, with a large fishing lake and canal side walks, perfect for dog walking. The woodland paths are wide and easily navigable.
Everything about this site is perfect, the pitches are large and well spaced, the facilities are spotless. Judith and her team are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
We were travelling with dogs and asked for a shady spot and that's exactly what we got. This site is a real gem and we'll definitely visit again.
The site is situated approx. 4 miles from Ellesmere, where there is range of shops and local amenties.
It's well signposted and the access roads for towing a caravan are decent.
Probably the only thing the site lacks is an on-site shop for essentials.

Fabulous site - staff really friendly and welcoming. Shower & toilet block have been refurbished and are excellent and kept spotlessly clean.
Stayed on a fully serviced pitch with hard standing. The dog loved the woodland walk down to the canal and around the site pond.
Even though there are quite a number of caravans on site it was super quiet.
Some great places near by Ellesmere, Chirk and Llangollen- can especially recommend the Boathouse at Ellesmere - Greta food at a reasonable price
Would definitely stay here again

Loverly site, created with super happy and helpful staff.
The site is very clean and well kept and maintained. The shop on site is very small and needs more products in, the shower and toilet block for the tourers and motorhomes is excellent and super clean.
The fishing lake looks stunning and I cought lots of small fish, if I had a moan about it I would say could do with a lot more carp and medium size fish putting in.
Overall this is a fabulous site with plenty of woodland to walk round and we shall definitely stay again soon

A well kept, peaceful site. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch which was level and near enough to the facilities block.
There are pleasant walks through the woodland and around the fishing lake. The staff were efficient and very friendly and, as the site was not busy, we were able to choose our pitch.
We ate out in Ellesmere where there are some lovely old pubs and cafes.
There is also a Tesco and a Co-op for grocery shopping.
Our first trip this season and hope to return later in the season.

What a lovely peaceful camp site. The staff are friendly and helpful, pitches spacious enough, we had a serviced pitch. Woodland walks and a fishing pond.
Can’t comment on the shop or showers as not yet open again yet, but I’m sure they will be great given how neat and tidy the campsite is.
Our daughter stayed in one of the static vans they rent out and it was immaculate and only 12 months old.
A site to be recommended. A nice well kept playground in the middle of the site too.

Don't hesitate, go and stay at this park, it will leave you relaxed and recharged. It is beautifully kept with lovely walks and pitches.
My children loved the site, the woods and the play area. Ok, it doesn't have WiFi, maybe this is something the site should consider adding, even if they charged for it, then its up to the individual to decide if they want it or not. So many things now rely on wifi including Google search.
I would consider this one of the best sites I've ever visited in the four years of caravanning we've done as a family. Thank you Fernwood.

Safe, secure, friendly and clean 😊
Had a two night stay, didn’t use any of the facilities as we were self sufficient.
Very calm, peaceful and very quiet by 10pm
