 Also known as Bracken Bay. An assault course play area was a great boon for our son, but unfortunately was too close to the tent pitching area,and we had a few early morning awakenings with children jumping on the chained logs at 7.00 am. The lounge and bar were very friendly, pool-table and fruit machines being the weekly entertainment.Friday night boasted a games hour or two for children and a disco for adults which was well attended. The Restaurant produced some lovely fare and is well worth at least one visit,excellent preparation and presentation,and delicious to boot.
The park is in easy walking distance of Farm Park,a great day out for the kids with animals and creatures great and small,quad bikes,high wire slides and a strange dry ski slope with rubber rings etc etc.A walk along the beach which was quite rocky took us out at Craig Tara(ex Butlins) ,where you can gain access from the beach and make use of the leasure pool which boasts flumes and variuos other water features.Buses to and from the campsite were few and far between.But if you like agood walk ,Ayr is only 5 miles away.All in all not too bad a place On site shop which was pretty well stocked with the usual necessities as well as many other items.Laundry with 2 wasing machines and 2 driers.Shower blocks were adequate with toilets and wash hand basins.
