My partner and I visited this camp-site last weekend, just for one night. We only lived a few miles away from the site but fancied a night away. The site is in a perfect location, up on the hillside to keep the rain away and the views are stunning. We arrived early afternoon and the site was about half full. The owner came over immediately and could not have been more helpful, she was ever so friendly and showed is where everything was on the site and local amenities. The site has toilet and shower facilities, both clean and close by. Only one shower in each block though which could be a problem if the site was full, we can't comment as we didn't need it with only staying one night. The only tiny area that could be improved on was that the toilets had no facilities for drying hands other than the toilet tissue. A dryer or paper towels would come in handy but nothing major! There is a small log cabin that has sinks for washing up and plenty of hot water. One major advantage, which may not be for everyone - this campsite has free wifi, we found this a great addition as we watched a film in our tent. The site is quite small and by evening it was full. If you want space when camping then this maybe isnt the site for you, we were almost touching both campers to either side of us with our cars parked as well, but again not a problem for us as it was just two of us. There is a pub within walking distance and Otley is a five minute car ride away. All in all a fantastic little site, we will definitely be back!

This is a fantastic little site. Perfect location for Otley and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales. We stayed in a Wigwam on the site for the weekend of the Tour de France Grand Départ and I have to say this site made the weekend for us. Joanne is a fantastic owner and really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and well looked after for Yorkshire's big weekend. The Toilet and shower facilities are spotless as is the camp washing up area which is located in a quaint summerhouse style building. Small but perfectly formed it has a relaxed attitude and stunning views. We have two young boys and because of the layout and size of the site we always felt they were safe due to the limited cars on the site. The Wigwam was the best stocked we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. We will be returning in our caravan as the pitches also looked fantastic. To sum up a wonderful, family friendly site with great owners. There is also a cracking little pub just up the road that does great bar meals and the shops are all within a stroll.

We booked in for the Tour de France weekend & asked if we could turn up early (9am) to avoid traffic, the owners were more than happy for us to do this. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who gave us a TDF welcome pack & helped us site the caravan while giving us plenty of information on the local area. The site has wonderful views in a great location for walking/biking & is 20mins walk from centre of Otley. We use our own facilities in the van so cannot really comment on the site facilities. Overall a very friendly site in a fantastic location & one which we will definitely be visiting again.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at this site. We have been using this site since the present owners took over in 2011. Over the past 3 years they have put their hearts and souls into the site and if you visited prior to 2011, you would struggle to believe it is the same one. I will often choose ' family run' sites as you think they will be well cared for, often I am disappointed to find that ' family run' means run by a manager and managed at arms length by the family. This site couldn't be more family run if it tried. You will be met by a family member on arrival and cared for by one of the 5 right through to departure. This was our first stay since they added the Wigwams, the owner was very kind and gave us the opportunity to have a peep in one. They look very comfortable and have all the basics for camping and I would Imagine great for walkers/ bikers who don't want to lug a tent around

The site is very pretty with great views over the dales. Lots of interesting places to visit either by foot, bike or car. A short walk will find you in the market town of Otley, with lots of shops of interest as well as the necessary supermarket and nice pubs. There is a pub just a 3 minute walk from the sight which does great food.

This weekend was of course The Tour De France, we congratulate the owners on a beautifully decorated sight and the Welcome packs were fab. They gave us not only maps and Itineraries for the race but flags and stickers to. As well as great advice on where the best views would be.

We will definitely be back again and again.

Thanks for a fantastic TDF weekend.

Well after reading the reviews we decided to stay here for 2 nights how we wished we hadn't.

Perhaps the noise from the Leeds /Bradford flight path didn't bother anyone else as there's no mention of it but it is overhead and you cannot hear yourself speak when the planes are passing right overhead this continues all day and into the evening also the park is on a busy road so be warned if you want somewhere quiet.

The saving grace was just by chance we walked our dog across a cow field (has to be on a lead) and met a local dog walker who pointed us towards the railway station where we caught a train to IIlkey and had a wonderful day out there otherwise we were moving on.

It was the most expensive of all 3 campsites on this trip and the showers and toilets were old and not as clean as everywhere else we stayed.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and although we didn't have time to try the local pub several of the campers said it was brilliant.

My wife and two sons travelled from Grimsby and first visited this campsite three weeks ago, staying for two nights. We fell in love with the campsite for many reasons, to the extent that we have just returned from our third weekend visit in three weeks!

Firstly, the owners are very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough to help us, especially this weekend when we arrived and realised that we hadn't packed our tent! Rather than let us go back home or find a b&b somewhere, they lent us one of their tents and actually put it up for us. Wonderful customer service (but please don't turn up without a tent thinking that they will do the same for everyone. This was a genuine foul up on our behalf).

As for the site itself, the toilets, showers and pot washing area are very good and never busy. There are electric hookup pitches available for tents, as well as caravans/motorhomes. The site is in a beautiful location, overlooking the Yorkshire countryside, and is very central for anyone looking to visit Ilkley, Skipton, Bolton Abbey and Harrogate, to name but a few places in the local area. There is also a local pub about two hundred yards up the road, which serves lovely food.

The size of site is just right, as it's not too big and busy. Fellow campers are very friendly and tend to abide by the request to keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.

It is suitable for young families, couples of all ages and even those wanting to visit on their own.

We would highly recommend this campsite.

Just returned after a freezing couple of nights at this little site. Made very welcome, nothing too much trouble, even though weather was rough to say the least. Snow!

The site has a fantastic view of surrounding area with plenty of things to do and see close to hand. Toilet block has had new doors and windows recently replaced, obviously the new owners (2yrs) have upgraded some facilities and great job too. Wash up area right next to pitches in a lovely summer house with hot water and a few sinks. Loo's & shower immaculately clean.

A walk into Otley takes around 25mins down main rd taxi back up about £4. Great market town with plenty of pubs shops and characters. We loved it, when we return must remember to book some sun

Had an enjoyable four night break at Clarion Lodge. It was suffering from the after effects of our 'wonderful' summer - so the grass was well waterlogged. The hard standings and accesses are crushed stone - but even these were quite mucky. A shame - because this has the makings of a lovely little site.

Of the ten pitches three looked like long term placements, whilst six out of the other seven were taken at the weekend. There is a small terraced tent area behind the caravan pitches. A small toilet block was adequate for the numbers there, and was kept pretty clean most of the time. Also two washing up sinks in a garden chalet.

Visited the local pub - The Chevin - just down the road - only for a drink. It's a locals pub; we won't be going again. On the other hand we had an excellent carvery meal at the Hare & Hounds down the road at Menston.

Otley is just down the road, and is a delightful little Yorkshire town. It has a lively market on a Saturday. Go early - car parking can be limited. Can recommend Victoria Plum's tea rooms on Bondgate. You can also get buses to Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley and local places from the bus station there.

As previously mentioned, the site is under the take off path from Yeadon airport. It's not too busy, but you won't need an alarm clock! The first flight out is 06. 30 hrs (to Amsterdam) followed by about another nine or ten flights over the next couple of hours. After that it calms down. The last take off is 20. 30hrs - if its on time! All adds interest.

We'll certainly go back in the future.

The little site with a big welcome.

An excellent, small, family run site, with level, hard standing pitches, easy hook-up access and a small but very clean shower/toilet block.

Breath taking views over the valley and the added bonus of a bit of plane spotting made an idyllic few days grow into a two week stay.

We were made very welcome by the family, whose three children spent every free minute they had playing with our two boys. We even got to visit the chickens so that the boys could help collect eggs.

We would recommend the Clarion Lodge Campsite to anyone wanting a peaceful, stress free holiday, close to all the amenities and with the added bonus of some excellent home cooked food at the Chevin pub. (5 minutes walk away)

We shall certainly return, this site has become a home from home for us when we are on our travels.

Lovely owners whom helped us with our brand new tent in the pouring rain, a great reminder of why camping is great!

The site was lovely, we will go again, all the facilities were good. Friendly site; again I can not say how lovely the owners were.

Very handy for Otley town Centre, it's great to find a site that's not too far out but feels a million mile away.

Very Scenic and peaceful. Had a great time.
