If Carlsberg made touring sites this would be it. The owners and their children were great. The site level and clean.
Overlooking a valley. Good Digital reception. Water easy to get to. Leccie easy to plug in to.
Very friendly place lots of people chatting. Shower toilet elsan all great. Call ahead and they will even stand on the road to wave at you to guide you in.

Just returned from a weekend at the site. Had a phonecall from Joanne on Friday afternoon explaining that our pitch had been moved due to weather.
When we arrived we were met by Joanne who explained that due to the weather they had switched our pitch and because it didn't have electric hook up at that spot they had had a special lead made for us that afternoon, this just shows their commitment to looking after their guests.
Such a friendly campsite, lovely views of rolling hillsides. Toilets and showers kept very clean, as people have said before there is just one shower however we didn't have to queue.
The washing up and information house is lovely too. There is a Co-Operative store 5 minutes drive away in Menston and The Chevin pub up the road is lovely for a nice drink looking over those rolling hills.
This will definitely be on our list to revisit.

We stayed here as a group of 6 tents and 1 caravan for 3 nights, the site owner could not do enough for us, even put a play house out for the kids!
Although there was only one shower and two toilets, we were never waiting, and they were spotless. The site was kept spotless, and the planes didn't bother us after the first couple went over. Dish washing facilities were great and very clean.
The Chevin pub nearby looked very nice but we didn't think it was suitable for young children, so we went to the wacky warehouse a bit further up the road which was great.
You are central for so many things
We will definitely be back next year, if not before!

This is a small and pleasant camp site at the side of a fairly quiet road. The views were great as the site is half way up a hill, but the pitches were all level as the site had been specially shaped for rows of campers.
If you book ahead, your spot is marked on a board as you arrive so you can pull straight in without waiting around. The owner is very welcoming and polite.
We couldn't see any children's facilities, but the few children there seemed to be having fun anyway.
The site is directly under the pathway for aeroplanes taking off from Leeds Bradford airport. This didn't really bother us as they finish about midnight and start again about 6am, but if you're a light sleeper and like a lie in or early night, take some ear plugs.
The toilet blocks and showers are basic but very clean and close to the camping area. There is only one male and one female shower but as the site is small this seems quite adequate, and the water was nice and hot.
We don't normally use the washing up facilities but we were so close to them that we did on this occasion. There are two sinks, which are spotlessly clean within a small wooden summer house type building surrounded by flowerpots.
A walk through Chevin forest is quite challenging, with very steep inclines. Sturdy walking boots are essential!
Otley is roughly two miles away from the site, but it feels longer if you take the forest route! However, it is a very pleasant little town with many pubs. We went into The Old Cock, which is recommended by CAMRA as it serves a wide selection of quality ales and is very friendly with a good atmosphere. If you fancy fish and chips in Otley, I heartily recommend Bondgate Fisheries. They serve the usual fish and chips options as well as a range of less typical choices for a chippy, such as salmon fishcakes with parsley and lemon, and various other dishes. There are also many other restaurants and supermarkets in Otley. We felt the price of a taxi back to the site was very reasonable, at just under £4.
Back at the camp site, The Chevin pub is only a two minute walk up the same road. We didn't eat there but the meals being served looked delicious and of good quality.
All in all, this was an enjoyable overnight stay and we would visit here again.

Booked in on the move after leaving Scotland in a blizzard!
Owner very helpful and accommodating. Lovely little site with good level pitches and beautiful views over the valley. Fantastic pub with great food just up the road and a short drive up onto the 'Chevin' for superb dog walking!
OH found some good fishing on a commercial fishery 10 mins drive away.
Plenty of supermarkets and shop within a short drive.
Very central for the Yorkshire Dales. Will be returning!

From our aspect, I would consider the campsite, family run, as being extreemly good in most respects, apart from the toilet/shower area. The location is a worthy winner.
There is aircraft overheard from time to time and busy local traffic, but all melt away as the hours drift away.
The owners are helpful and welcoming and have done a great job in the overall improvement to the site. They are actively making more improvements. I wish them well for the future.
I would heartily recommend Clarion Lodge campsite for a short or longer term stay.

Just returned home after a 3 night impromptu stay. We were made to feel very welcome from the start on this small site with 10 hard standing pitches and 2 areas for tent pitching, all good level pitches. The shower block was adequate for the size of the site, however only having 1 shower in each side may cause a short wait in busy times, it is also a little dated, but, truely was fine! A short walk from the site is a lovely country pub 'The Chevin' which has special offers on food during the week. Waitrose, Asda, Sainsburys are all just a short drive away into Otley. There are plenty of walks in the area, although we found it was better to drive up to Chevin Forest Park than walk from the site as it is straight onto the road. The views are beautiful over the valley and as the site is tiered, all pitches can enjoy them. As people have already mentioned on here, the site is under the flight path taking off from Leeds/Bradford airport. This didn't bother us at all, in fact I found it quite fun watching them going up and into the sun set!

Needed some well earned peace and quiet from the stresses and strains of everyday life and got exactly what the doctor ordered.
The site is small with all the basic amenities, toilets, showers, wash area, electricity and well kept pitches etc. The site is tiered to allow all campers the enjoyment of the stunning Yorkshire scenery.
We had two dogs with us which wasn't a problem as long as they were tethered or on a lead on site and cleaned up after.
We found the site owners very friendly and helpful especially with advice on places to see and places to walk the dogs.
The only down side was not having enough time to see all the area has to offer, but that gives us a good excuse to return next year.

A very warm welcome from the site owners upon arrival. The site is fairly small and quiet, which was a nice change from the larger and impersonal sites we have experienced in the past. Lovely views of the Yorkshire countryside can be seen from all pitches, truly breathtaking.
The toilet blocks are clean and adequate for the size of the site. There is a local pub within a 5 minute walk, which serves good food and also has fantastic views from the beer garden.
The site owners know the area well, and were more than happy to point us in the direction of local attractions, of which there are many.
It's a dog friendly site, with great walks nearby, which our dog loved.
If you want a peaceful, back to nature break, then we can't recommend this site highly enough. Looking forward to returning next year.

Lovely little site with beautiful views. The owner is friendly and welcoming and the site is small and basic but friendly.
The pitch was level and had plenty of room. Site was clean and well kept. Hot water, clean toilets and showers, plenty of hook ups.
The site is 5 minutes drive from supermarkets and the town centre and has a pub just over the road, about 2 minutes walk away. We have a dog and there are plenty of good walks immediately out of the site.
Very good value for money. We will be going back next year.
