The first thing to note re older reviews is that this site has recently changed hands and so earlier comments re being rundown and not always clean are no longer true.
The site is small but well maintained, the toilet blocks were always clean, despite the awful weather.
The new owners have plans to move onto the site themselves and intend to build new washing up areas etc.
They are keen campers themselves so know what people expect of a campsite. We have had a lovely week there. The cost for a tent with hook-up is £12. 50/night which I think is a fair price.

Since the last review on here the place has changed hands!
All I will say is that our stay could have been so much better, firstly we had to pitch next to a wasps nest on a bank, and a stoney bank at that! so the owner put some hi vis barriers around it which made it look like we were pitched on a building site!
Then came the time the warden came around to collect his money, he wanted £12. 50 for the tent and £12. 50 for our gazebo/day tent and then complained as we had a toilet tent!
When we (had) to mention the need for a toilet tent due to my disability he was left searching for words! but to say ' well you have one tent there, one tent here AND you have a toilet tent, why do you need a toilet tent when the toilets are only over there was very condescending indeed!
The facilities are basic but reasonable for a couple of days.
Close to ilkley and a nice drive through to skipton makes the site nicely placed but you must remember it is on the flight path out of leeds / bradford airport so expect 6. 30 am wake up call from the clouds!
A reasonable weekend was has but the customer service has some distance to go

This is a basic site that was in need of an overhaul. On arrival our name was on the board and we were shown to the pitch for our two night stay.
There are 3 tiers on the site with a fairly steep bank from tier-to-tier. Fine for my lot but for toddlers that could be a hazard.
The toilets are in desperate need of a revamp. Being a small site the toilets can cope with the traffic but they were grubby and cold.
Very quiet site with awesome views.
All in all this is probably just about value for money.

After spending a long weekend at this site we came away feeling refreshed and rested. The site was well maintained and all grass areas neat and tidy. The toilet and shower facilities were clean to an excellent standard everyday.
The views on a clear day were spectacular!
The site stewards were more than helpful in giving directions and recommending local sites to see, their manner was both helpful and friendly. Our two children certainly made themselves at home! There may not be a children's play area but they soon relied on their imaginations and loved cloud spotting!
The location of this site is perfect for a gettaway as you feel like you are miles away from anything but only 2 minutes away from everything!
All I can say is this site is worth its weight in gold and I only wish there were more sites like it! My only critisism is that there was no electric hook-up for tents but this did not impact on our holiday at all!

Upon arrival I found the site an over grown mess. Tried to contact site manager, only to be told that they were away for the day. When I did make contact they were not very helpful.
Toilet block was not cleaned for the 3 days we were on site
What a shock I had when I was informed that the lady who used to look after this site has had a stroke and had to retire. This does show on the cleanness of the site.
Hope they make a full recovery.

Spent one night at this campsite, it is quite small but beautiful views.
Facilities were basic but clean and only one shower in each toilet block. There is no shop on site but the lady in charge is very friendly and will point you in the right direction for local shops, pubs etc. Chevin pub quite expensive but Hare and Hounds offer a two for one menu which was very nice!
There is no play area for kids and not enough room for ball games,(but this may be different when there are fewer tents/caravans on site)
All that said we had a lovely time and at £12 p/n for a large family tent was very reasonable.

Really lovely campsite, well-situated with great views down the dales. Facilities are very adequate - hot water, showers and clean toilet block. There's not much space for tents (which ensures the site stays quiet - a good thing) so book ahead if staying at a busy period. The owner is very friendly and helpful, coming to check we were OK each night, and helping to erect someone's tent after it blew down whilst they were away.
The Chevin pub is worth a visit for a pint or excellent meal (£9.95 for two courses if you get there before 7.00), and Otley is a walkable distance away. Further afield, Keighley, Bolton Abbey, Ilkley, Harrogate, Haworth and Skipton are all close by if with a car (or by train for the larger towns).
The only drawback is the flightpath for Leeds-Bradford airport 5 miles away. Flights seemed to stop at about 11.00 at night, but started quite early in the morning. If you can live with this, the benefits of the site more than make up for the occasional noise.

This was a lovely site, it is quite small, (we were the only tent on the tent area) and it has lovely views (which were even nicer at sunset).
The Chevin Pub just up the road (short walking distance) is friendly and also has lovely veiws and beer garden.
The toilets and showers are clean and well cared for.
The site itself is tidy and well kept and the stewerd is very friendly and welcoming.
It is situated in a flight path from Leeds Bradford Airport but hey so is most of Otley! The planes didn't bother us and don't fly during the night, even during the day it isn't that reguarly.
It is most reasonable (only cost £8 per night for our large tent!) and we will definitely go again, a great place.

A lovely site with wonderful views. Basic shower block cleaned daily. Some really good places to eat not far from site I recomend 'The Fox' excellent food.
The rates for camping were very cheap. Seems to be on main flight path for airport so be prepared for early mornings.

Nice site set on two levels, the upper level for tents only. Basic shower block but sufficient and cleaned twice a day by the on-site resident. Absolutely stunning views but be careful pulling out [remember to look right, quite a quick road!] Chevin pub two hundred yards away and a half hour walk away from Otley; historic market town with a beautiful, almost untouched victorian river area with childrens play area. A very peaceful, friendly place.
