Lovely location but take your time on the road into the site as it is a very narrow road. Very helpful owners/staff and a shop providing the basics. The situation is equidistant(aprox7 miles) from Lawrencekirk, Inverbervie and Montrose, the latter providing excellent shopping and other facilities if you want away from the tranquillity of the site.

Toilets and other facilities are excellent and spotless, a credit to the staff. Pricing is fair but this would have to reflect that a shower costs £1 over and above the fees.

If this bay had a sandy beach it would be heaven on earth but unfortunately the beach is pebbles which also restricts walking any distance. Well worth a visit and we shall certainly be back.

We camped here for 2 nights with two other families. 8 kids in total age from 7-13

This campsite has many positive qualities. Excellent modern and very clean toilets / showers. Good Kabin with TV, pool table and board games,Piano, fooseball table, small playpark (with sand pit and basketball net, on site shop and animal farm. The location is amazing right on the seafront. From where there are lovely coastal walks. Campsite is also very quite. They also have a fully function kitchen costing a £1 per day per person to use.

The main drawbacks we found were the restrictions for the kids. The were not allowed into the Kabin or shop without a parent, and were not encouraged to go near the animals without a parent. These rules were actively enforced. Also showers were £1 (2 x 50p) for 8 minutes.

I would recommend this site if you had kids under the age of about 6 or older teenagers. (or no kids of course). However if you like to give you kids the freedom to roam and explorer and use ALL facilities without restriction I would think twice about visiting this site.

Johnshaven is within walking distance and has a great pub for meals and a lovely craft shop. Montrose / Stonehaven a short drive away with open swimming pools, plenty of shops, play parks, castles and places to eat.

Wow! First class. Owners were fantastic, always on hand but not obtrusive. Small site, fair distance from anywhere but that was the point for us. Went myself with the 3 kids (10, 12 & 13) and they had a ball, small park on site, well equipped and all felt very safe. Stayed in our 5 man tent (£15 a night).

Very well looked after site with free range animals to make things a little more interesting! Small shop on site that sold the very basics.

Toilets/ Showers/ Twin Wash Rooms/ Baby Changing/ Disabled Shower/ Toilets were outstanding and extremely clean, they have obviously thought about the kind of people likely to visit and have catered for them perfectly. Grounds were also kept very well maintained with a Kabin in the centre (like a hall) with pool table, football table, piano, chairs, tables, games, books etc etc for when weather gets really bad.

Heard from a few of the regular campers there that the owners don't put up with any nonsense (swearing, disruptive etc etc. And people will be asked to leave if they do - that's a thumbs up in my book!) Felt like a very family orientated park to relax and switch off for a while - not however, somewhere to go if you're after city life nearby.

Wish every park owners were as thoughtful about the people they are catering for!

We have used Milton Haven a few times over the last 4 years and love it. There is loads to do on site with a pond, ok kids park, beach with sand and rock pools, and lots to do in the local area around Montrose. There is a fruit farm with an amazing park, a beach park at Montrose and a swimming pool. There are lots of good chip shops in local villages and Stonehaven has an award winning chippie as well as the heated outdoor swimming pool which is a must visit. The new shower block is great and always spotless, the old ones don't work very well. It is a small site and only a few pitches and every Saturday they have Bingo in the cabins-but not Bingo as you know it. There is also a pool and football table in the cabins. Every morning the shop sells duck eggs which are a must for breakfast. Well worth a visit

A very pretty, quiet, secluded, grassy site with friendly, helpful staff. You are asked to arrive after 2pm as it is a single track road which would cause problems if two caravans needed to pass. We stayed for 3 nights and were beside the duck pond. We had lovely fresh duck eggs from the shop for breakfast.

The showers are located in new wooden huts where you get an 8 minute shower for two 50p's in the meter.

There are also Kabins for your use with a seating area at a TV, pool table, and an upright piano. Children are welcome and must be supervised at all times.

The beach is rocky and pebbly with a sandy area and rock pools when the tide is out. A few miles down the coast is the beautiful sandy expanse of St Cyrus beach with its nature reserve at one end.

We would visit again.

Stayed here for a weekend of mostly good weather in June. The reception was very friendly. There is a small shop stocked with a few basics.

A space is set aside for four motorhomes and campervans by the sea, and we got one of these. You may need a long cable to reach the hook-up. Toilets are in two new-ish wooden 'wigwams' and these were very clean. Two 50p pieces are needed for an 8 minute shower.

A pair of portakabins on site provide a lounge and play area, with plenty of books and videos. There is a pond with ducks and the adjacent field contains chickens, goats and a pony. The owner provides barbeques and toy tractors for the kids, if you want them.

St Cyrus is about two miles away and offers a small shop, hotel and tea shop. Montrose, 7 miles, has a large supermarket.

There is an informal, friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be back.

This is a nice, friendly site. The views are very pretty, especially over the ‘duck pond’ (which is more of a lochen than a pond!). There are picnic benches scattered over both the paddock (with EHU) and the verge (tents without hook-up). Pitches are not marked, but there was no crowding. Ground is good – few stones and not too sandy.

We went with our two young girls (3 and 1), who loved the animals – especially the ducks which kept settling down next to our tent. We tried the Saturday night bingo at the Kabin, and were warmly welcomed. Lots of fun, even for complete novices, and the profits go to the charity of the week. (Don’t go if you have noisy children though.) The Kabin has a free foosball table and a pool table that costs 20p. Sunday morning was a guided tour of the wooded wildlife area they planted a few years ago, followed by a coffee morning (again for the weekly charity).

Next door to the Kabin is the old wigwam kitchen (the wigwams are now gone). A small dining room and a kitchen with 2 electric hobs, a microwave, fridge, and all the pots and pans, crockery, cutlery that you’d need. This cost £1 per person extra if you want to use it. I’d recommend paying the money in bad weather, just for the washing up, as the kp sink is outside, totally exposed to the elements. Please note that the hot tap does work, it’s just marked as the cold tap!

There are two toilet wigwams in the paddock. One has a toilet and sink either side, the other also has a shower either side. There was never a problem getting a shower, as you have to pay £1 per 8 minutes of hot water!

The coastal walk runs right past the site. Getting onto the sandy park of the beach is a bit more difficult than we expected – most of the beach is shingle, with some steep parts. Sure footed adults and older kids can get down with few problems, but it wasn’t the ‘beach on our doorstep’ that we wanted for our young children to play in. That said, the small playpark is in a giant sandpit, with buckets and spades provided. There are also some peddle tractors by the shop that the children can borrow.

Word of warning about the Bervie Chipper – it’s worth it for the excellent fish, but don’t sit in – the mark up from takeaway prices is a bit silly.

Wonderful overnight stay - motorhome pitch looked over the sea. Children spent lots of hours playing at beach, cycling and around the wooded areas. Beautiful site and spotlessly clean and well kept. Animals provided an interesting aside. Shop has basics and staff friendly and helpful. Will return before summer is out.

Just spent 3 nights at this lovely site with my family, the owners Cath &Stewart couldn't be more friendlier. Views were spectacular. Luckily we got great weather. Plenty of friendly animals which my kids loved. Coastal walk was a dream. The caravan we stayed in was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Plan to go next year only this time for a longer stay. I found the 3 nights just weren't enough. I just hope you give it a go.

Spent the autumn holidays at this lovely site - stayed for the full two weeks, this is the third time we have stayed here and the longest. It was very quiet and often we were the only other people in the 'paddock' where the tourers go. This was probably due to the rest of scotland being off on holiday the last two weeks in october rather than the first.

Great site for children - loads of animals which you are allowed to feed, execpt the ducks who just pester you for more! The play park is ample and in the middle of the statics.

Dogs welcome and the beach walks are great and it is literally a stones throw away.

The toilets, showers, laundry are all spotless and cleaned regularly and also have a homely touch to them with proper hand towels and loo roll!

Cath and Stuart are very friendly and helpful making you feel very welcome as are the static owners and I would definatly recommend to make sure your visit ties in with the Kabin for Saturday Bingo -it's an experience never to forget or to miss. There is loads to do in the area I could go on for a lot longer

In summary: A gem of a place and one we will be going to again and again.
