As first-time campers, we found this an excellent site. We pitched out tent in close proximity to the children's play area, which though small, had plenty to occupy our 5-yr-old whilst staying within sight of our tent. The collection of animals at this site also proved popular with our daughter. The on-site facilities were excellent, immaculately maintained, couldn't ask for better. Would use this site again.

Just back from an enjoyable two night stay here. The owners were very friendly and the ducks even friendlier. The beach is on your doorstep and there is a wee park and sandpit in the middle of the site. We would recommend taking EHU because these seem to be the best pitches, in a private section with its own toilets. We had a smashing pitch overlooking the duck pond. The other pitches seem to be in the open space in the middle of a ring of static vans. The Bervie Chip shop is highly recommended 6 miles up the coast(sit in or take away) and the "seafront splash" parks on Montrose seafront are smashing.

Have just returned from a couple of nights stay at this site in a tent with two children and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it rained a lot when we were there it was still an enjoyable stay with plenty for the kids to do. The friendly and helpful owners kept the site clean and tidy and the shower rooms were spotless. The animals kept my kids entertained for much of the time except when they were hunting for baby frogs in the pond or searching for crabs in the rock pools. There is a clubhouse which was useful when the rain became torrential and it has a large selection of books and games and a pool table. The owners did say that you could stay in the clubhouse overnight if the rain got too bad for the tent but thankfully it held out against the elements. I would thoroughly recommend this site whether you have children or not and we will definitely be back or the kids wont speak to me again.

Have just left this caravan site 3 days early and would advise anyone going to think very carefully about this choice not an easy place to relax as always wondering what the owners will complain about next if it is not having visitors to our caravan (who were checking the place out for themselves) it was the dog LOOKING out of the awning. As for the animals I have to say our dog was much better behaved than the goats that got to roam so freely (on top of our car and the tables) the chickens that snatched food from our kids hands I suggest that maybe they should be on a lead! But if that is not bad enough the owner himself we found to be very rude the animals we could cope with but to pay good money and get spoken to like dirt for nothing we will not!

Have just come back from this campsite.
We had [by far] the best view from our pitch through the Wigwams to the sea. [Even with the haar drifting in and out!] It is only a small area for tourers so booking in the summer will be essential. There is also a separate area for camper vans. The children's play park was in by the static vans [makes a change as other sites we've been to have it within the tourers less noise for us!] There were even some sit and ride tractors for the kids by the shop.
The toilet block was clean and tidy. [Can't comment on the showers as we didn't use them this time].
Saw that in the 'Kabin's' bingo was on for everybody on both the Friday and Sat night if you wanted to go.
The site itself was, in our eyes, one of the best. We loved that the beach was literally on the doorstep. The children loved all the animals. At this time there are four young goat kids, who needs telly when you can watch their antics! Marnie would have spent all day chatting to Rio the pony! We enjoyed watching the swans chase the ducks! Fresh hens eggs can be bought from the shop on site [would recommend those as well!]
With Montrose less than 20 mins away you could get access to shops and further things for the family.
The only down side is that the owners do like you to be off pitch by 12 on the day that you are leaving, but as I pointed out to OH, the lane coming down is pretty narrow and at least by leaving by then meant you are less likely to meet another outfit.
We will definitely be back again.

As proprietors of the park, we would like to update visitors on the changes. The criticised toilet block has been demolished and the replacement will be in operation by May. Although the shower facility had its misgivings, we did not charge for its use and there were two other paying alternatives elsewhere. The small shop is not continually manned, but sufficient signs direct customers to where one of the two owner/operatives might be. To the north of the park there is half a mile of sandy beach, albeit tidal, the adjacent foreshore being owned by the caravan park. Alas there appears to be no simple redress to criticism by visitors. I trust this will alleviate any fears of queueing for showers, the shop, or playing on the golden sands of Miltonhaven Bay. Regards, Stewart & Kath Scott

A small, friendly and well run site with a mixture of wigwams, statics, tourers & tents (and now the old mill house has been converted for rent as well.) The beach is right next to the site and is made up mostly of large cobbles.
A small shop on site is available from 9am-7pm(but you have to ring a bell to get someone to open it which can take up to 15 minutes)Does not sell papers or rolls but you can get milk, bacon etc A games room with a pool table (only 20p)is for everybodys use as is a small sand pit with swings,a chute and toys for the kids to use. One fault we found was the shower block, only two showers for the tourers and you have to lock the outside door so one person ties up both the showers. Kids loved the animals a horse, some rare sheep, chickens and ducks roam free.

Having been 'campers' for many years we have visited a LOT of campsites, some good, some not so good. Miltonhaven on the East Coast of Scotland has to be one of the best by far! A compact yet spacious site it sits right on the sea shore and offers a beautiful walk to nearby Johnshaven.
It is well equipped for both camper and caravanner and has the added benefit of WigWams for those who are 'without'. There is a clubhouse which makes everyone welcome and hosts a good shindig!. There is always something happening and always a friendly face and hand to help, should it be needed. This site comes greatly recommended and adapts to whatever type of break you wish, get away from it all or join in, the excellent running of the site ensures that YOU CHOOSE. Swans, ducks, chickens, ponies, goats, sheep, you name it! Miltonhaven has it! Superb Choice:)

This is easily the best site I have been too. It is well run and the facilities whilst a bit older are in good order and clean. It has a playpark for the kids and you can get to the beach in minutes.
