Very nice site, we only staid for 2 day's as we were trying out a new awning toilets and showers are immaculate. This is a lovely quiet site with the most amazing views, there is a visitors center and a cafe that dose all home made food and reasonably priced. All the pitches are hard standing with grass on the side for the awning, very good price for what it offers have been to other sites that are not nearly as clean and are much more expensive. The only bad thing was there are no dog bins anywhere to be seen. On the hole a very good site.

This campsite is excellent value for money, Close to Aberdare town. Electric Hook ups avaliable. Lovely walks. Small quiet site. Showers right next to campsite and clean. Cafe on site Adventure playground. Only bad point was not much there for small children.

What a lovely site, just a mile from Aberdare town centre but you'd think you were deep in the Brecon Beacons. Beautiful views with very friendly staff. There's a cafe and visitors centre on site with plenty of tourist info. Well worth a visit. There's a separate field for tents and campervans/caravans. The local stables have horse riding available for both kids and adults.

After reading other reviews we booked on the site thinking it would be a quiet, safe enviroment for our kids aged 8 and 12 years (and dog). Yes, the actual area has some lovely views and the facilities were very good, but the actual site was the most unorganised site we have ever visited. It seems that local people are allowed to walk through the camp site with dogs or to visit local campers, which is fine, if they are reponsible. But we booked for 4 nights and were thinking of packing up after 2 days as it progressively got worse. By the last night there was a party in swing until approx. 4am, and people walking passed and onto the camp site all night shouting and singing. The night porter finally did his round, but by this time both my kids were frightened. We`ve been on quite a few sites around the country which are cheaper, but have ground rules they stick to

September 2004 Beautiful setting, excellent facilities. Have booked again for 2005.
Being in a country park, you have immediate access to tourist information, the park cafe and facilities and excellent walks and cycle routes.
A short trip (or walk if you are feeling energetic) brings you into the town of Aberdare, which has lovely shops and eateries.
Highly recommended.

september 2003 having family near by this was an ideal location without imposing my three very active boys on the household. The whole set up was very clean, we were very impressed that the showers were free, along with the washing machine and hairdryer. There were good facilities to tap into as we have an older caravan without hot running water, which can delay things rather in the mornings. Having hot running water on tap was very useful. The walks are well routed and beautiful. A quiet spot if you want to get away from it all,but close enough to all the towns facilities to get what ever you need.
We knew of a reasonable and friendly cafe/fish bar in the town, where the food is plentiful and tasty. Its situated at the top end of the town by the Black Lion Pub. I think this is now called the Pop-In cafe. Although there is not a great deal of amusements in the way of the usual kiddies attractions, all my three boys loved it, and my eldest usually thinks hes deprived without spending. The town is pretty and has some lovely shops. We are planning another trip soon as this site is open all year except one weekend over xmas. Well worth a visit.

May 2003 A very reasonably priced campsite with excellent facilities that were spotless. Tescos, Asda, KFC and McD’s within two miles! There are also rooms available and a visitors centre. We’ve stayed in both the rooms (there’s some family rooms too) and in our tent on the site. It’s just a short walk from Aberdare town centre and the people are very friendly and helpful. A beautiful part of Wales, and is perfectly situated for visiting the valleys. We will definitely visit again. This site is not very busy at all and we were the only tent in the field the bank holiday weekend, and there were only three caravans on the serviced pitches.
