A gem of a site. Very friendly owners who welcomed us with mugs of tea and cooked delicious breakfasts which we ate outdoors in the morning sun whilst taking in the stunning views. Facilities are very clean, but the site is generally sloping so you may find yourself pitching at an angle. Definitely worth repeat visits!

Great little site in lovely location. We visited with a rather large caravan and the owner was very helpful in assisting to get us on and off the site - it's a little tight for big units so best to check with owners before booking.
Toilets were basic and clean but the shower room was great for us as we were visiting with two youngsters under the age of two and it was large enough to accommodate toddler showering paraphernalia! The dishwashing facilities are unique but adequate.
The site itself is grass and slightly sloping with terrific views. The nearby settlement of Middleton in Teesdale has all essentials and is an attractive market town. There is a lot to do locally ranging from low level railway walks to high moorland. We found plenty to do even with a formidable double buggy!
The owners will lend a local map and their local knowledge is invaluable. Although we didn't partake of the cooked breakfasts on offer, we did smell them and watched campers waddle back to their tents afterwards. We will probably return to this little gem of a site next year and will be sure to book the morning feasts next time.

The owners are very friendly & very helpful. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and we were given refreshments on arrival. The site is clean, tidy and very quiet. Fresh free range eggs were available for purchase. We had an enjoyable holiday and would be very happy to return to this camp-site again.

A truely fantastic place to stay, very relaxing! The owners, Richard or Stephanie and Sage the dog were all so friendly and helpful, the the toilets and shower were spotless, fresh wild flowers in the windowsills, and useful imformation at hand, including a cooked breakfast if you book it, and fresh eggs to buy too, laid from the friendly hens milling about. the views are breath taking.
Plenty of places for you to visit, like High Force, and Barnard castle, and lots of local walks too! Middleton Teesdale is minutes drive away, and has plenty of shops and places to look around. as Arnie says, ' I will be back'!!

May 2005 An excellent stay on a clean friendly campsite, you couldn't wish for anymore if you like a quiet, relaxing location. Loads of nice touches, including the owners bringing us a couple of hot water bottles on a very cold night for our little girl...free of charge of course!

August 2004 We have just returned from this lovely little site which has beautiful views across to the pennine way and above Grassholme reservior. Very friendly owners who will provide breakfast lunch and dinner if booked the day before. Numbers on the site are restricted to ten (people) due to the site having only one shower and two toilets but there is a pot wash and all the facilities are very clean and pleasant to use with free hot water and a small charge for electric hook-up. Breakfast eggs are laid by the various breeds of chicken which roam the site and the farmer breeds rare teesdale lambs, which I saw him pat on the head as he did his rounds(aaah!) The owners said they could cope with larger groups by prior arrangement. We didn't try the lunches or dinners as we didn't know they provided them until the day we left but the breakfast bacon and egg butties were delicious. If you want total tranquility with friendly owners this is the place for you - we didn't want to leave and will certainly be going back there again.
