Just returned from a brilliant week staying at Windmills Campsite. Lovely quiet site for families and couples with fantastic views across to Pendine Sands. The toilet block is on the old side but the toilets were always clean and tidy and well maintained. There was only one shower in the ladies but I never had to queue and always had hot water, regardless of what time of day. The owners were very friendly and helpful, they were always around and were very informative about things to see and do. The walk into Tenby was lovely and took hardly any time at all. The path back is slightly steep at the beginning but does get easier! Campsite is well located for access to lots of attractions of Pembrokeshire. Had a great stay and would definitely use this site again.

We have just returned from a great week at this site. The owners live in the house at the entrance to the site and do what they can to make sure that the site remains quiet and tranquil for all to enjoy. They do not care for inconsiderate campers and do seem to "vet" potential campers making telephone enquiries. There is no shop on site, but there is a very good Post Office and general convenience store about half a mile away in New Hedges village. There is also a pub and a pretty good steak house in the village well worth a visit. The communal facilities on site were basic and perhaps a little outdated but were clean and in good working order. There is only one shower each for the ladies and gents which did lead to some queueing during the morning / evening ablution regimes even though the site was only at one third it's apparent capacity at it's busiest. They were, however, free and never ran out of hot water during the course of our stay. The electric hook-ups have designated, spacious pitches and their own stand-pipes. Our pitch even had drainage but alas (this time - probably for the first time ever!) we left the kitchen sink at home. Caravaners and Tourers would benefit from this facility more than us humble tenters. The pitch fees were reasonable, £14 and £16 a night for a hook up (our stay bridged mid and high season tariffs). From the sign at reception it seems that the electric hook ups (even those with drainage) were only £2 more a night than the non electric fees. The walk into Tenby brings you to the North Beach side of town. The walk is marked as three quarters of a mile on the site at the entrance of the camp site. This is about right, but it is all downhill. Nice on the way into town, but a different story on the way back. Neither my wife (who is 24 weeks pregnant) nor I are particularly fit and we managed it pushing 2 young children in pushchairs. I would certainly recommend the walk down. The lane is safe and you can get into town along footpaths crossing only 2 roads (one a service road to a hospital and public car-park, the other a fairly quiet residential / sea front road). If you don't fancy the walk back, there are a plethora of taxi firms in town waiting to ferry you back to the site. There is a really pleasant atmosphere about this site, very much to the credit of the owners and their vetting process. And to top it all you get a sea view in one direction or another from most of the site. What more could you ask? If you are looking for a pool and a club house, this is definitely not the place for you. All in all this is a nice, quiet, basic site for couples and young families. I would recommend it and would definitely stay there again. I might even take the kitchen sink next time!

Visited this site twice in the past, unfortunately lost my caravan in an accident on the way home from there last time. But the site is good and clean and very central for the area. Still using the owners inflatable boat I bought off him, very nice people.
