We loved this site, everyone was really friendly and the owners went out of their way to help. The pitches are lovely with lots of water taps dotted around, we had one at the end of our pitch. The park is brilliant, the kids loved it and could play safely. The park is very long and fenced in so the kids could play football without risk of hitting anyone's unit. The toilets were spotless, and I loved the coconut soap in the dispensers. The hairdryer is free. And there are bathrooms, one with a bath in and the rest with showers, toilet and handbasin - bliss. Made bathing so much easier. There is a shop within the reception area and a menu from all the surrounding pubs. There is a fishing pond on site, just a short walk from the caravans. The kids loved it. The site is ideal and we even enquired about a seasonal pitch. The site is a few miles from Northallerton and in the other direction a few miles into Thirsk. Lots of pretty villages around and close to the motorway. Also not far to Lightwater Valley. Wish we hadn't left it til the end of August to go and that we had found this site earlier in the year.

Visited this site last week and chose to stay in the overflow field , as we didn't require electricity . It rained the first night but the field drained very well. Beautiful location and loads of space for football etc. Lovely nature walks and very tranquil fishing lake. The farmer was incredibly helpful and the staff were friendly . They have a good range of books and mags that you can borrow from reception but do not sell the basics that you so often run out of. The shower block was very clean and warm - dishwashing area only had one sink but a number of washing/drying machines. Only 4 miles either way to Thirsk and Northallerton and both are lovely bustling market towns. In Thirsk the Herriot museum is great - both for fans of " All Creatures great and small " and for the kids who are too young to remember it.There is a large Tesco in Thirsk which is on the edge of the town so you miss the traffic in the centre. Would certainly return .

Excellent site. Friendly staff. Large pitches. Lovely toilet block with bathroom if needed, ideal if you have younger children who do not like showers. Lovely fenced off play area with the normal things in but also a few little tikes things for the little ones. Lots of little walk ways and dens for the older children to explore. Our party included children ranging in ages from 2 -15. A short walk away is a fishing lake on site and fees for this are nice and cheap. The only fault I could maybe find is that the reception should sell a few more things and they would make a fortune if they sold fishing nets for the kids to fish for tadpoles.

Stayed over bank holiday. Left it very late booking because of the weather and found this was the only campsite left with pitches in the area so was a little dubious. When we arrived all our fears were removed. We were greeted in a lovely reception area by the owners. Was put in the overflow field but this was all marked out with very spacious pitches. The toilet block was one of the best that I have stayed at with lots of individual rooms with showers, sinks and toilets etc. Always clean and tidy. There was a little playground that kept our 5 year old amused and there was space at the side for our 11 year old and his friends to play cricket and football on all weekend. There was a little walk way to the fishing lake through the trees. The site is currently extending with log cabins and static caravans and I am sure it will only make the site better when complete. Overall there was nothing that you could fault.

Stayed here over the Easter weekend for 4 nights, this is a fantastic site, especially for the kids, they loved it. There's a lovely pub at the end of the lane that does 5* food. Pitches are very big and the owners are very friendly and will do anything for you, the only downside was on the 2nd night once the site was full an electric problem occurred, the site owners were very apologetic and did everything they could to rectify the problem, but after 3 nights it did get a bit annoying, other than that would recommend, had a great weekend and will be back.

Spent Sat and Sun night here over the bank holiday. Flat field, no flooding / puddles which was a surprise after all the rain. Only about 20 tents / caravans on field so nice and friendly. Friendly couple who run it, helped anyway they could with good advice on local ameniites. Good shower rooms, ideal with small kids, only 4 so did get busy so better to leave it till later on in the morning or night.Rooms got a bit wet and dirty but they seemed to get cleaned quickly. Small play area for kids and lots of space for them to play.River and lake along a nature walk, kids loved catching tadpoles. All in all, good chill out weekend.
