90% of this site is fantastic, beautifully maintained and tarmacked throughout. Unfortunately, the touring section is in the other 10%. A large field with hard standings - however to get to the hard standings you either need a 4x4 or lots of helpful campers to push your van onto the pitch - (fortunately for us we found some). As this was our first trip we were a little worried that this was the norm for all campsites, however we were assured by other campers that this was the worst they had been on (in terms of ground care) in 25 years. The walks in this area are great and the play area kept our boys well entertained. The shop is not really a shop as it only stocks about 10 different products - unfortunately for us not even stocking bread..... We paid £17.50 per night which was quite expensive for what they had to offer. All this said, I think in the summer months, the setting alone will be enough for us to go back there. Worth noting, that as of July this year they are hoping to turn the last touring field into a static park and not take any more tourers (hence the lack of investment in the pitches).

A well kept and pleasant site with excellent toilet and shower block. The site is in a woodland surround and nearly all of the pitches which were not totally in the shade of the trees were taken up by those with seasonal pitches. This meant that for the twelve days we stayed there it was impossible for us to get any sunshine on our pitch.
Pleasant country walks are avilable from the site and access to the Nostell Priory (NT)grounds is possible. We did find that the site fees were quite expensive and this coupled with the lack of any sunshine on many of the touring pitches means that personally we would not stay there again.
