 Good clean site, plenty of room for lively dogs to run around. Wardens spot on. Shop limited, has ice cream and milk, but tesco within 300 yds.
Uttoxeter is quite a small market town with a few pubs, Wetherspoons with usual fare, and The Steeplechase, friendly atmosphere and good meals. Quite a large Factory Shop outlet near the JCB yard.
Superb rail connections, station only 250 yds. From site (Derby / Stoke), best shopping for Stoke is at Hanley (a short bus journey from rail station). Will certainly visit again in 2008.

This is the first CC site that we have stayed on and we weren't too sure what to expect. We normally go North but have been making an effort to visit new places and had no idea what Uttoxeter could offer.
The site itself didn't look very spectacular to begin but it was level, spotlessly clean and not too busy. There was a well equipped playground which, to my amazement, kept the kids entertained all weekend and a shop that sold ice creams. The toilets were spacious and very clean.
The camping area is at the side of the racecourse, but it wasn't a racing weekend so you can wander wherever - fantastic for walking dogs with masses of energy. It might be a good idea to take some wind breaks because it is quite a windy site.
Uttoxeter is within easy walking distance and there are plenty of pubs to choose from but most don't serve food. All in all we had an extremely relaxing weekend and will probably go back in the future.
