What a great camp site this is, I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area, especially if you are going to the Eden Project.
The site is set in two areas with the main site housing camper vans, tourers and some family tent pitches, there is also a new area with tent pitches and its own new toilet/ shower block which also includes a utility room with sink, bowl, washing up liquid, freezer for ice packs, kettle and even a microwave; there was always hot water for washing and the showers and the whole block was cleaned daily.
The pitches were large and flat with hedges around to provide privacy, or if like us you are going as a group then there were larger pitches where you can be as a group and a camp fire (if off the floor)
The area is quiet with only local traffic at night so you can hear the tide at night which is great when staring up at the milky way as the light pollution is very low.
There is a little shop on site which can supply the morning essentials like milk, there is also a 24hr warden who can help with anything you might need, the staff are great and could not help enough and are full of ideas of things to do and routes to take if walking, cycling, bus or car.
In the local area are many bays and beaches as well as great access to the main Cornwall roads to get you throughout Cornwall for all the sites.
There are many great pubs near by who all serve lovely food until 8-9pm (although check this first as it might change during the season) I would fully recommend a trip to Charlestown and its lovely pubs and inns for food.
The best thing about the site is that the Eden Project is about 1. 5 miles and is a very pleasant walk (although be warned there are a couple of big hills in between) but if you are going to the Eden Sessions then I recommend walking as it makes a perfect end to the day walking home (make sure you take a torch if you do though as there are a couple of dark lanes) if you don't fancy the walk then a taxi can be arranged which would be cheap and there is a free bus service back to the site after the session has finished.
I will definitely be using the site again for the Eden sessions next year so who knows maybe see you there.

We have just spent a fabulous week in one of the log cabins, we stayed in Polkerris Lodge. We travelled by motorbike and really appreciated the comfort within the lodge and thought it amazing value for money.
The accommodation was first class, the facilities were superb and the cream tea on arrival delicious.
Prior to arrival we had read reports about road noise but found this not to be the case during our stay, in fact we spent many a happy hour on the veranda with a nice bottle of wine.
The site itself is in a great position for walks along the coastal path, to good beaches and the charming town of Charlestown. The staff at the site were always very helpful and cheerful throughout our stay. To summarise it all we were sad to leave, would definitely recommend this to others.

WOW how this place has changed. I used to camp in Cornwall every year but I haven't been camping for years and so I thought I'd get back into it with a bit more comfort. I visited East Crinnis a long while back when there was only one camping area(the main site) and a field opposite. How the place has matured! The main site is fantastic with flat pitches most divided now by tall hedges for nice privacy, E hook up (if you miss the hairdryer!) and a sparkling shower block. Theres also a utility room with sink and more importantly a freezer for the icepacks.
For me though, I prefer a bit more tranquillity so I went up on the newly developed 'meadow' about 50 m from the main site. No E hook up which is perfect for me and the missus. There were only about a dozen pitches very nicely spaced and the one I was on was by far the best (it's the one on the right under a huge tree which keeps the tent in the cool shade first thing and faces the setting sun. Perfect)
The meadow had it's own recently finished toilet block which is built on the end of an old farm building, rustic outside, spotless inside. Only one shower and WC for girls and boys but I was lucky with timings and kept an eye out for when other campers were coming back so no queueing! The washing up sink outside would benefit from a canopy but it didn't rain when I was there so I didn't suffer
The bottom field, where I stayed last time, is now a landscaped pond with benches to sit and a great walk for dogs (still have to convince the missus to let me get one!)
Staff were very welcoming and danny has clearly lived in the area all his life because he was full of tips for places to visit. Danny also offers a tour to eden if you want a guide.
The site is less than a 10min drive from St Austell, Charlestown harbour and Eden (If you go the back way as directed by danny you should miss the traffic)
My only regret was the hangover after one night in the local pub, the Brittania, great food, great beer and only a 10-15min walk depending on how much you drink
All in all a great re-introduction to camping. The world is too big to visit the same place twice but I'm glad I made an exception here

We booked this site as we were late and it was holiday season with a lot of sites fully booked. We were met with a smile and given a pitch in their 'Summer Meadow', which is a field away from the main site but only a short way up the road. We weren't informed of this when booking though. The pitch was nice and spacious and no one seemed crowded. For those with children if they wished to use the play area on the main site it would mean them going down the road which although not busy has no footpath.
This area has a new shower block which whilst new is still basic camping fayre with the sides of the roof open fully on one side (the ladies side) and wooden battens separating it from the farm building at its rear that it has been partly formed from. There is one shower for each sex and with the one each for males and females on the main site it only gives you two for each sex on the whole site. As the male and female areas in this new block do not have a dividing wall at the top if you like privacy when nature calls you will have to make the run to the main toilets on the site. The showers were hot and powerful once you gained entry.
This new block has an outside washing up area that has no cover and when it rains the water from the roof of the toilet block flows on top of you. You could go down to the main site to the hut but this is a pain and there is only one sink there. It would be an easy fix with a simple extension to the roof. A light would also be useful.
We were blighted by road noise all of our visit and whilst this is out of the control of the site it should be considered.
The site is handy for supplies in St Austell and the Eden Project is only 20 minutes in the car. The warden did inform us they had a map for a 30 minute walking route, this would save you some of the entry fee. I mention this as the pre-paid tickets they offer at the campsite reception would not give you this discount.
The site warden and owners are friendly and helpful

This was our first time camping in the UK and we were pleasantly surprised to find our generous pitch was hedge lined similar to French sites. Unfortunately we were right next to the play park which has some really noisy swings. Our kids didn't like being close to the park either as they wanted to spread out a bit.
It is a lovely compact site and we could not fault the cleanliness of the site at all.
Although Par is not for sight seeing there is Fowey and Mevagissey only a short drive away, these two places were our favourites as they are what Cornwall is all about.
The nearest beach is Carlyon Bay and although you go through a construction site to get there the beach itself is clean enough and there was free parking due to the work going on. We did have a trip to Newquay which the kids loved as the waves are stronger on the north coast.
Getting back to the campsite, in general it is close to the road into Par and you can hear it throughout the day. We could also hear someone trying to tune his car engine nearby which was annoying although not the campsites fault.
There is not much to do for older kids as they only have a play park the size of a small pitch and nowhere really to go and run around.
Staff are pleasant and friendly.

Started off a bit strange as there was no-one in at the time we arrived but that proved to be no problem. A quick call to their office number and Danny came racing over in a a matter of seconds.
After a quick look around we asked if we could go on a pitch that had been reserved and paid for but the family hadn't turned up and it proved to be the pitch of the century. A lot of pitches including our own had a tall privet hedge dividing it from the adjacent one for privacy and ours, like a few others came with its own tarmac parking space - result! Not only that but we also backed onto some very lively woodland. All-in-all the perfect spot.
The site was very well tended (almost manicured but in the nicest way possible) with extremely tidy gardens, children's play areas and a toilet block that would be an envy of most sites.
Now for the one downside, the location. The village of Par is probably not the most picturesque village in Cornwall and the Par industrial area that is very close to the site is not the nicest place to drive past to get to the campsite.
The beach at Carlyon bay is a complete mess as there is major construction works ongoing at the moment so you need to travel elsewhere. However, the food in the Wave restaurant in the Brittania Inn on the St Austell Road (within 15 minutes walking distance, we know as we walked there!) is fantastic quality in a fantastic chic/contemporary setting but at very reasonable price range.
But the plus side of the location is the ease in which to get to the three places that we wanted most to visit - The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House (NT). Each took less than 15 minutes drivetime to get to.
Overall, very friendly staff (both the warden and Danny), very clean and tidy, loads of very hot water all included in the price (no 20p shower tokens!) and to cap it off, nearly every pitch has access to an EHU.
And the price for all this? £10 without EHU and £12 with EHU - absolute bargain.

When we arrived at East Crinnis we were immediately impressed by the whole site. There are 3 log cabins as well as a very peaceful and private camping site.
We stayed in one of the log cabins which were of a very high standard, immaculate and very well equipped. Everything we could possibly have wanted was there. We received a very friendly welcome from the owners which included a Cornish cream tea and a bottle of wine.
The weather was poor during our visit but because of the wonderful cabin and atmosphere we had the best holiday ever. We will return.

We booked to stay at East Crinnis the week before our holiday, I had tried other sites but they were all booked up.I spoke with the sites owner Betty, (she sounded lovely) and when she said they had availability I thought it sounded too good to be true.
On our arrival we were met by Liz the campsite warden, she was fab, nothing was too much trouble, extremely friendly, very helpful and full of great knowledge of the area.
The site itself is very well organised and clean. It has spacious pitches which had little conifer hedges or plants or big rocks between to give you shelter and privacy. You can stay in tent, caravan or motorhome(hook up available), children and dogs were welcome.
Clean toilets and shower blocks, which were hot and retained a good pressure. Washing area for pots, washing machine, tumble dryer and small freezer for ice packs. There is a fishing pond and playground, which my 2 children loved.
The site is just behind a main road, but this did not disturb us at all. It has nice gardens and well established plants. There is a gate at the entrance which closes at 11pm, so your not disturbed by cars and it makes you feel very safe. There is also an over spill area (the meadow) which has no electric hook up or facilities but is less than 50 metres away from main site.
The local area has a Cornish Market and Kidzone play area, there are a couple of pubs and general stores all of which you could have a good walk to. A short car drive away is Tesco and Asda. We were so busy visiting different places we didn't get chance to go into the town of St Austell.
The beaches are not too far away, Carylon Bay or Par being the nearest. The best beaches were in Newquay(20 miles away), where you can buy reasonably priced fishing nets, crab lines, buckets and spades, wet suits, body and surf boards. We found the best place for crab fishing was in Looe here you can go on boat trips, look round the harbour, shop or eat out.
We didn't have the best weather whilst we were here, but we had no shortage of things to do or places to go.
All in all, this site is well located, clean, quiet and friendly, it is perfect for those who want to just relax or for parents who want a quieter site so the kids actually sleep. If you're looking for an all singing and dancing site with bars, shops, entertainment and late night partying this is not the place. Just hope we can stay here again the next time we visit Cornwall.

Small family friendly site. Very friendly and helpful wardens on-site, who regularly cleaned the facilities. The shower block is small and not the most up to date, however there was plenty of hot water and it was very clean. Most useful for us, was the utility room with kettle, ironing board, enormous washing machine (£4), tumble dryer (£1 for 15 mins) and loads of leaflets on things to do in the area. Also a small play area with swings / slide / monkey bars was perfect for our kids.

My first time camping and it rained nearly the whole time but I loved it! Great site, small and friendly and compartmentalised, which gave for added privacy.
Really clean toilets and showers and plenty of hot water.
Only slight grumble is that our pitch was slightly worn and muddy - but the owners cannot control the weather (sadly).
Only stayed three nights due it being my 'initiation to camping' but I already cannot wait to go again!
