We have just returned from staying in the log cabins at East Crinnis, there are 3 cabins all very close to each other and directly in front of the road running on to the camp site. The traffic is constant all day and evening so there is very little privacy or peace.
The cabins are described as luxury but they fall short of that. There is no freezer not even a small one at the top of the fridge so you have to share the one provided by the campsite for the campers and that is sited in a block away from the cabins. If you need to wash cloths you have to use the campsites washer costing £4 per wash and £1 for drying, this is after paying nearly £600 per week.
It says there is Course Fishing but the fish in the pond were no bigger than 6 inches with most of them a lot smaller.
If you stay for 3 nights you get a pass to the Eden Project but if you stay for 2 weeks like us you get nothing (something wrong there)
The cabin was clean enough but all in all a very disappointing place to stay as we have stayed at much better log cabins and they really did deserve the name luxury.

This is a real gem of a site.
We visited at Easter with three children, aged 2,7&10. The site is very small and has a friendly feel. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. She even laid on an Easter egg hunt for the children on Easter Sunday which was a lovely touch. We were able to pick our own pitch and they all seemed a good size. Loads of hook ups.
There is a small adventure play area which my children loved and loads of space around the units for the children to play. We placed our caravan in a pitch overlooking the play area as we knew our youngest would want to follow her siblings. Wooden picnic tables are provided. The sanitary block was always immaculate and the showers were nice and hot. There is a small washing up/laundry room with tourist information and books to borrow. For people with dogs there is a beautifully landscaped walking area around a pretty pond. The campsite has lovely shrubbed areas and flowerbeds. If you have non-camping friends, there are two log cabins for them to stay in.
You would really need to use your car if you came here. We are keen cyclists, but the road outside the campsite is busy and not safe for children and there did not seem to be a safe way to access the cycle network with them. We drove to Bodmin for the Camel Trail which is a beautiful way to get into Padstow. The China Clay Trails are interesting and you can park at Wheal Martyn and cycle to the Eden Project from there, you'll even be rewarded with a discount! This is one thing you must see if you're in the area. The pass is valid for one year. We are just sad our's will have expired before we next get to Cornwall. We also cycled from St Austell to Mevagissey and back along the Pentewan trail, the climb into Mevagissey is hard, but it's worth it.
There is a beach accessible from the campsite on foot, Carlyon Bay, but this seemed to have been transformed into a building site when we were there, I'm not sure if there'll be much beach left in the future. You can access the coastal path from here though and there are loads of beautiful beaches nearby.
If you're into Daphne Du Maurier, the 'House on the Strand' and Jamaica Inn are within spitting distance.
Lanhydrock House (N.T) is also very close.
This is maybe not the best site for those who want to party every night, but if you want peace and quiet and a friendly, safe environment for young children to play, it's great.

Absolutely fantastic - incredibly helpful and friendly wardens. They even do a site walkabout every morning to check that everyone has everything they need. If you need anything, they are happy to lend you things for free. Toilet/shower facilities cleaned at least 4 times a day - powerful and hot showers. Very flat pitches. Picturesque and quiet location. Minutes from the nearest beach. Great for dogs. Safe play area for children. We don't have one complaint. We go camping in Cornwall at least 3 times a year, as we have family down there and we can honestly say that we will never go anywhere else. Highest possible recommendations!!!!

Upon arrival at this site we were greeted by the site warden who was very friendly and then shown to our very spacious pitch. Our first impressions of this pitch were a little dubious as it was opposite the childrens play area although these fears were unfounded as true to her word the play area was cleared and quiet by 21.30. This was achieved by the warden walking round making sure all was quiet, Also the site was closed to all vehicles between 2300 and 0700 by a locked gate. Showers and toilets were very clean and ample for this small site. There were 2 sinks provided for washing up with unlimited very hot water and a washing machine (£3 for 1 cycle) and tumble dryer (20p for 3 mins or £1 for 15mins)also provided.
There is a Tesco and Asda close by for shopping and several beaches a short drive away.
