Just returned from a weekend at Fox Hagg Farm, with hubby and two dogs. The protocol at the site is very relaxed and informal (just the way we like it!). We found a suitable pitch, set up our encampment, then my other half set off to find Mrs Dyson, to settle the bill.
Toilet block was tidy, and it appeared it was inspected every day, as it didn't run out of toilet roll all weekend. Showers were nice and hot (run the water for 10 seconds to get cold water out of the system).
A car is required for shops and pubs; however, good walks start at the site and take you down into the Rivelin Valley or up onto Lodge Moor. Further afield, we parked up at Heatherdene Picnic Site and did a circular walk round Ladybower Reservoir. The scenery, at both Ladybower and from the tent field at Fox Hagg Farm, is superb.
The only criticism I have, and this is in no way aimed at the owners of Fox Hagg Farm, who are very busy dairy farmers, is a minority of dog owners use the tent field as a dog walking area. This only becomes an issue when the owners don't
Clean up after their dogs (I witnessed this, and it still grinds my gears. You know who you are.). Cowpats, on the other hand, are fine by me; they are organic and very few and far between. Overall, a nice quiet, relaxed site. We will go again.

Stayed here for our 1st caravan weekend(close to home!) Made welcome by the owner, Mrs Dyson. A small, basic site with wonderful views and great eggs (£2 doz.) Cost us £12 a night with EHU, toilets, free showers and hot water for washing pots etc. Access up or down Lodge Lane is a little steep! Farm collie Bess is very friendly! On the downside, the tent field displayed evidence of bovine activity (cow pats!) and rubbish left by lazy campers hadn't been cleared, but if you're running a busy farm as well you can't go checking up after every departure can you?
All in all, a pleasant site that we'll visit again.

We stayed at Fox Hagg Farm and found it to be a very enjoyable stay! We would recommend it and will be returning in the future. Please note that as other reviews have stated Fox Hagg is a working farm and the pitch for tents is just a small field - so watch out for cow dung. Most memorable part of the stay was returning one evening to find cows in the field. From talking to other guests this does not happen very often and the cows are harmless. Small recommendation -walk round to the farm house (where you pay) and get yourself some eggs, very yummy and so cheap compared to your local supermarket.
The surrounding area is stunning with plenty of walks near by. This area is nice and relaxing but close (4min drive) to good shopping facilites.
Great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly!

In response to the previous review I think it's only fair to point out that Fox Hagg Farm is a working dairy farm and if they appear to have a more relaxed approach to details like collecting fees it is because they are genuinely busy. The site is adequate, clean not over priced and the people are friendly. It is also less than 30 minutes drive from spectacular scenery in the Peak District. What do you want do you want for your money? Valet service, your laundry doing?

Stayed there for two nights as it was the closest site to a wedding we where going to. You have to pick your pitch then go to the house connected to the farm to pay (not very obvious where you have to go). Looks like there are a lot of people living there in small caravans. Did not rate the site and will not be back but thought it worth adding as not recommended by us.
