 This is a fantastic little site. It's basically a huge gently sloping back garden, bounded by mature natural hedges and trees so pitches are very well sheltered. Foxdale is one of the most quiet and tranquil sites we've been on, being set on the edge of the tiny village of Marloes.
All pitches are on grass and the present owners, who took over in February this year, do a great job of maintaining the whole area. They've just installed hook-up on 4 pitches - motor homes may benefit by having levellers although if hook-up is not required, ample level ground can be found.
Facilities rarely found on smaller sites include a licensed bar, breakfasts, packed lunches and garden benches/tables. The toilets, showers, basins and bidets (yes bidets) are a little dated, but are in good condition and kept perfectly clean.
Martin's Haven is only 2.5 miles away (for the boats out to the Skomer and Skokholm nature reserves) and a regular bus service runs there from outside the nearby Lobster Pot Inn in Marloes village. Meals are available in the pub by the way.
On the down-side, the site doesn't have dedicated chemical disposal or MV dump points, but neither are a real problem. And the approach roads are a little narrow but were easily negotiable with care in our 24' motor home.
The pros of this site far outweigh the cons. A beautiful camp site, especially for those interested in nature and the countryside.
The owner told us that unfortunately for some very obscure reason the local authority will not allow them to accept caravans, but motor homes and tents are always welcome.
