Stayed here both on our way down and back from Germany
As all other reviews found site very welcoming and friendly, facilities more than adequate and cleaned daily (although loo rolls had a tendency to run out so go prepared!)
Swimming pool was welcome in the hot weather and there were plenty of children of all ages using the games and children's play area
Pitches were generous and allowed if parked correctly to connect up both waste and water, electricity is 6amps only.
Bar (and restaurant this time of year) were open every evening and wifi worked well
Shop in village was open every morning at 8am for baguettes and croissants and other essential supplies.
The walks, ranging from 4km to 14km around the area, many passing virtually by the site were well marked and interesting.
The nearest supermarket was Supermarche in St Omer, about 9 miles away and just past the vets where Bernadette works in the mornings and can arrange for your pet to be sorted before returning to the UK.
All in all a lovely site for either an overnight stop before heading onwards or staying for a while

A great site in a marvellous area of France. Small and with individual sheltered pitches the site has a great bar with Flemish games that keep the children and adults amused. The crazy golf (free) will keep children amused for hours by itself.
The site owners are friendly and happy to help and the children's playground has enough for hours of fun.
Cassel and Bergues are well worth exploring and St Omer is the place to go for the Auchan hypermarket but also as a great town to walk around for a few hours. Rando Rail near St Omer will keep adults and children happy and there is a great cycle route around the area for children and adults and the nearby marshes are fascinating with an exploration centre at Clairmarais where you can hire a rowing boat or electric boat to explore.
There is enough to do for a week or more and the presence of so many children during during our stay testifies to this being a child friendly site. We were not able to sample the food as it was not a weekend!
The toilet block was excellent but would need another shower and toilet if all the pitches were taken. The pool is only open in July and August.
A tip for those wanting the chemical disposal point - look in the bushes towards the back of the motorhome wastewater area!

This was our first venture into Europe and we can't say enough about the welcome we received at this site. Although we were early in the season and preparations for the coming season were behind by about a month due to the weather this did not detract from a great stay.
The facilities were clean and perfectly serviceable. The on site bar / restaurant was warm and extremely friendly populated mostly by return visitors. The bar puzzles are definitely worth the visit.
We used this site as a stop on route further south and would recommend it to anyone. We will definitely return like most of the people we met there.

We use this site several times a year, en-route to / from the UK. A lot of Brits do the same, but other nationalities use the site too.
The site is bookable online, and if you request an appointment with the vet, then Bernadette will arrange it for you. The (English-speaking) vet is in St Omer which is about 15 minutes away, and is very thorough. If booked this way, a discount is given – we paid 69 Euros for our 2 dogs.
The site is well maintained, and in the summer there are flowers everywhere.
The toilet facilities are simple, but are adequate and kept clean. There is a washing machine available on-request.
Guy and Bernadette have added free wi-fi which is accessible in the bar, and this is proving very popular. The restaurant is open on Saturdays and Sundays only, except during the main summer holidays, when it’s open every day. The food is excellent.
There is a swimming pool on site, for use when the weather is hot. There is a (new) children's play area – though we have visited many times and I don’t ever recollect seeing any children. There is a boules ‘court’ too.
The site is a few minutes walk from Buysscheure, which is a well-maintained village, where there used to be a small shop for essentials, but this was closed when we visited in April 2010. There is a bar in the village, but we’ve never used it as we always use the bar at the site.
As elsewhere in France, there are footpaths and tracks everywhere that can be explored. We use the Serie Blue Carte de Randonee maps (available in the UK from Elstead Maps, who offer an excellent service) – numbers 2303 O and 2303 E cover the area of the site. There are 3 signposted walks from Buysscheure. Guy has a leaflet, in French, about them. You don’t really need it though, except to know how long each walk is.
La Coupole is not far away and is really worthwhile, though it can be upsetting.

What a delightful site this was to visit. The owners, Guy and Bernadette made us very welcome indeed and directed us to a large open pitch with excellent service facilities alongside.
We were first attracted to the site by the convenience of Bernadette working for the local vet in St Omer which offered us the convenience of making an appointment for our dog to be checked before returning to the UK.
The site has a very attractive swimming pool and good facilities for children. Bread, Croissants and general grocery supplies are available in the nearby village shop about half a mile away.
Guy is always working hard to maintain a very high standard on the site, supported by Bernadette who is a wonderful cook and produces the most fantastic chips and creme brule we have ever tasted. Guy says it is a local secret recipe but can be persuaded to divulge it later in the evening! We would recommend anyone staying on site to take advantage of the friendly bar and restaurant. The restaurant is open each evening during July and August but Bernadette only cooks at the weekend in other months.
Not surprisingly, the majority of people who visit are dog owners. There are some beautiful walks from the site into the countryside and Guy can provide details of walks on request.
The towns of Cassel and St Omer are well worth a visit and for those interested in First and Second World War history there are many interesting sites to visit including the Canadian Memorial and Trenches at Vimy Ridge, the launch sites for the V1 and V2 rockets and a very interesting museum at La Couple on the fringe of St Omer.
A site we would thoroughly recommend for its friendliness, ambience, cleanliness, peace and tranquillity.
Are we biased? - yes, you bet we are, we absolutely loved this site and will be returning.

We stayed for three nights on our return to the UK primarily to visit the Vet in St Omer where Bernadette made a reservation for us. The site itself was beautiful with plenty of flowers everywhere & nice large pitches screened by hedges, a waste bin shared by two pitches & serviced. As we were adjacent to the chemical toilet disposal, we noted that most people emptied their cassette into the slot for the motorhomes as the chemi disposal was hidden in the bushes & most missed it. The toilet block facilities were minimal with 3 male / female toilets, one shower (male/female) + one disabled shower male / female. One sink for washing dishes so we queued and one basin for washing clothes. The facilities were clean with toilet paper provided but tiles in the shower were cloudy from body fats. Fishing facilities proved to be a dirty pond with some carp living in the green water. Lovely swimming pool but too cold to take advantage - note: men require speedos.
We arrived on the Friday evening after a long & tiring journey through hills and twisty roads having left the motorway at Bologne, travelling via St Omer & through various villages. Guy was welcoming but obviously working the bar (well patronised by locals) and smelt of booze which was disappointing. The area, whilst interesting, is quite elevated and therefore much cooler (overcast with showers while we were there) after coming from the Dordoyne & Loire. We were aware of the TGV train passing nearby but did not find it obtrusive.
The restaurant appeared very popular especially with the locals and particularly busy for Sunday lunch into the evening. Several people on site required information/advice from Guy but said it was impossible to get any sense from him as he had been drinking.
The village shop had plenty of choice for caravanners and pleasant. St Omer is quite run down and industrialised but with plenty of big shops. We found the area disappointing after visiting beautiful towns in the Loire, Charente, Gironde, Dordoyne etc and will not be returning. We will use a vet in another town as there are plenty doing the pet passport scheme. Having said all that, we met several people on this site who were happy with everything. I suppose you cannot please all the people all the time!

We only stayed here for one night after our ferry crossing as we headed south but I do wish we had stayed longer! The weather was stunning so we sat out all day on our ample pitch that was screened by hedging, truly wonderful. The owners are awesome and very friendly. The food in the restaurant is also to die for; the meal here was the best of the whole holiday by far! The facilities were also good and clean. The hook up points here are typically French so you need an adapter, I went without one but the have some you can borrow. Would I go again, oh yes and can’t wait to!

We stayed at this site for 1 night on our way south and for 2 nights on our way back. We loved it and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Guy gave us a very warm welcome; we were on a very early ferry and arrived at the site at 9am but this wasn't a problem, he showed us a pitch straight away and we fully expected to have a pay another day for the early arrival but he said it was ok.
The pitches are a nice size and kept in great condition. The facilities are also spotless as well. We have 3 dogs and Bernadette sorted out our appointment at the vet at St Omer. For the 3 dogs the total bill was 77Euro that included all the tick and flea treatments which we thought was excellent as had been told to expect a much bigger bill. Our dogs were welcome everywhere on the site and we even took our smallest Mitzy into the bar to eat one night as other people had as well.
Bernadette cooks on a Saturday and Sunday and we ate twice and both times it was a fantastic meal and its a very lively experience with both Guy and Bernadette! There was a big French family in on one night and we all ended up playing table tennis! It was a lot of fun.
St Omer is an ok place, with quite a few shops. In my opinion it is a little run down and when we had a walk out on Saturday everything was closed. There was no where open to get a coffee or anything. There is some very large Supermarkets; a massive Auchan about a 15 minute drive and its also a Commercial Centre so you could get anything you wanted and that was all open and very busy on the Saturday we went. We also found a Lidl which was very cheap again about a 15 minute drive from the site.
We also visited Cassel which is 14km from the site. Its set high up and its very pretty with a church that dominates the top of the town but again when we visited on a Saturday it was like a ghost town with not even a bar open to get a beer. We had spent 2 weeks in the south and are not familiar with Northern France so maybe this is normal.
We also stumbled across a war cemetery; the first we have been to and have to say we were both very moved. It was so well cared for and there was a book to make comments and some of them moved us both very much.
We are looking to have a further week in France in September and would definitely stay before our return crossing. As for spending longer than a few nights there I would personally wouldn't want to. This is no reflection on the site, its just we had 2 weeks much further south which I much prefer. The area around the site is very pretty, just not an area in general that I would choose to spend my whole holiday. Saying that the weather wasn't great the time we spent there so I think that has swayed my opinion slightly, it was cold and rainy when we were there.

We have stayed here several times and thoroughly recommend it.
You get a very warm welcome. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean. Indeed, the whole site is well tended, with lots of flowers in the summer.
The bar is open all week, but the restaurant only at the weekend - Bernadette cooks local dishes and the food is great.
They can arrange for you to visit a very good vet in St Omer, and you get a discount if the appointment is arranged through the site.
There is a small shop a few minutes away that sells bread and all the essentials - very friendly owner.
It takes about 40 minutes to drive to the Tunnel.

We spent three nights at this site last week, we will be returning in July.
Guy and Bernadette, the owners, are very helpful, friendly and welcoming.
The site is quite small, about 30 pitches which all have their own electric point, tap, drain and bin. The pitches are grass and are of a good size with a hardstanding area on each. Washing / toilets clean and tidy.
Really good value at 18 euros /night for outfit +2, at Easter
Didn`t get a chance to sample Bernadette`s cooking but looking forward to using the restaurant next time.
Small shop for bread and essentials 10 mins walk. Supermarkets 15 mins by car.
Looking forward to going back in the summer.
