Just back after a fortnight in Delftse Hout and have to say we enjoyed it tremendously. We were on pitch 73 which was ideal (what a shame we hadn't brought our super pitch hosepipe as that's what we had - even though we hadn't booked one). But yes, site was great. Daily hosing down/cleaning of toilet block took ages to dry, and never enough hand towel paper to last the next 24hours. But that's nit-picking! Sorry! But as a family with two teenagers, not much activities for them on site, BUT a FAB site for off site activities. Delft the town is minutes away, and SUCH a charming place! Then the bike routes surrounding. Wonderful! And so close to Amsterdam (yes - DO pre-book tickets to Anne Frank Huis online - massive queues), The Hague - hairy bike ride away! ;-) And we went to Antwerp for the day which was great! SatNav takes you wrong way so yes - go towards IKEA roundabout turn left for Samsung buildings and then right after really narrow bit of road! Hope this helps!

Stayed here for 2 weeks and had a brilliant time. Not the first time in Delft having stayed here for 3 1/2 years 10 years ago so it was like coming home.
Staff were very friendly and park has excellent facilities, including very well equipped play park, a heated outdoor swimming pool, on site shop and on site restaurant and snack bar.
We had picked pitch 113 when booking the site, and although this was a good pitch was difficult to access with such a large outfit as the roads are very narrow with hedges so not a lot of room for tail swing. Also 113 had no power point so we had to run a cable from a normal extension lead from a utility shed next to the pitch but alarmingly this extension lead was also supplying another pitch and charging the site golf cart. The power point for this pitch was actually located a considerable distance away and although I had a very long power cable would have needed a further cable of equal length to reach. There was also a tree blocking our satellite dish mounted on our roof so no SKY TV but this was not a problem as weather was excellent and there were loads to do.
The only grumble and it is a very minor one was about the barriers for getting in or out. These would be fine if you had a left hand drive car but having a right hand drive car using the access card was not easy especially if I nipped out for something without a passenger.
Delft is well situated for touring the country and there are loads of activities with a 2 hour drive of Delft and with the excellent Dutch road network is quick and easy to access.
If you want an action packed holiday with things to do for the kids I would recommend the following attractions: - For the smaller kids there is a soft play area just along from McDonalds at Delft on the next junction down from the campsite on the A13. Also situated there is Race Planet indoor go kart centre. Madourodam miniature Holland is close by in Den Haag as is Dreivliet Amusement park. Duinrell theme park and leisure pool are close by in Wassenaar, and highly recommended is Archeon outdoor living museum where you go through the stone age, iron age, bronze age, Roman era and middle ages all with actors and loads of activities for kids. You will spend a whole day here.
Apenhuel primate park at Apeldoorn and Burgers zoo at Arnhem are absolutely superb. Dolfinarium Harderwijk is also an attraction but not recommended as it is not good to see such majestic creatures in captivity.
If you like theme parks there are loads within a 2 hour drive including, Slagharen, Hellendoorn, Walibi Holland, Efteling, Walibi Belgium, Bobbejaanland Belgium and Movie Park Germany.
This has probably been the best Holiday we have been on in a long time. 37 degree weather did help however :o)

We booked this site in advance through the caravan Club for 5 nights. On arrival the reception was very friendly and informative. There was a very good shop at reception, with a full time bakery. We went to our allocated pitch which had water/waste and electric hook up, the water was shared with 1 other unit. The pitch areas were divided by hedges and within each area, 4 pitches, which for the ones at the back may be a bit tight with a large unit. The hedges and bushes were very overgrown at our time of visit which did cause some problems. The toilet facilities were fine. The site also had a restaurant/bar a large play area with table tennis, and a small swimming pool. The overall feel of the site was that it could do with a bit of modernisation and renovation, which I think was actually going on at this time. A short ten minute walk takes you into Delft City which is very nice, full of canals, lovely shops and cafes. The nearest largish supermarket is Albert Heijn, in Choorstraat, Delft and there is a huge IKEA, Concept Store 5 minutes walk from the site. In Delft there is a Railway Station, 55 minutes takes you to Amsterdam. This site is excellent for visiting Delft and would recommend it for this. We would probably return to this site but as a stopover, only.

Excellent site with excellent people running it, they all spoke perfect English. The site itself is very clean and flat and is only a short distance from the city delft, you can catch a bus to and from the site into town where you can use the tram service as well as the train device to get around we didn't use our car for the whole two weeks. Only one problem to watch out for (besides the number of cyclists!). Do not use sat nav to the site as it takes you through an estate and then under the motorway where the police are fining you 90 euros as it's now only open for cyclists and buses, so when you come off the motorway head for the Ikea roundabout and down the front of that and the site is on your right turn then about 200 yards on the left. We will definitely return as we didn't see enough of the place.

We have used this site very often in the past, we used to go when our daughter was young and had some really fabulous holidays. We were there this year just my husband and myself and unfortunately I do not think we will be returning! The site itself has not changed very much, the restaurant has had a make over and it's lovely still serving nice food but unfortunately the pitch we were on was very cramped, but we made do! The family across from us however obviously thought our pitch should have been allocated to them too! Every day they had visitors with children who were just allowed to run riot, they had no discipline at all the granddad stood by and allowed them to kick a leather football around, usually using our awning as goal posts! Several times the car was hit and also all 3 of my little lanterns were shattered we 'tried' to speak to them (not interested) my husband went to the reception to complain the staff agreed that this shouldn't happen but done nothing about it! We know kids are on holiday and want to enjoy themselves but surely not at other peoples expense! Really spoiled our holiday! We've been to a lot of sites and have caravanned for almost 30 years and have never had to put up with this! A nightmare!

Nice clean site. Staff very friendly and spoke perfect English. Only a short drive away from the Hook, so if going to Holland on a night ferry then advisable to park on the road outside just past the site as the pitch might not be ready. Bikes can be hired from reception and buses stop outside the site which go into Delft or it's a steady 15 minute walk. Trains go into Amsterdam from Delft but it's 24 euros each, so we drove in and used the park and ride which was 8 euros for the day for upto 4 people. Queued almost 2 hours to get into Anne Franks house, wished we'd pre-booked tickets but well worth the wait, very humbling. Small shop on site selling the essentials. Not many supermarkets in the area, found a Jumbo and Lidl in Nootdorp. Don't rely on using credit/debit cards as they aren't widely accepted. Large Ikea near site but gets very busy.
Site perfect for families, children's entertainer collects the kids every morning for the kids club, with music to let them know that they are there.
Facilities very clean and plenty of them, never had to wait long for a shower or privacy cubicle.
Leaflets of things to do/see in reception but not many in English, so advisable to do research before you go. Site is in a good location for exploring the area.

Excellent site a mile out of Delft city. Cycle routes everywhere with some of the best starting near to the campsite. Large pitches and good facilities with small pool for children/parents. Particularly suitable for young families as there is a children's club and large play area. Shop well supplied and daily bread available. Nearest shop we could find was in city centre an easy cycle ride away. We did not use our car for a week as this site is so accessible to transport and shops etc. Can hire bikes at campsite. Staff are excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent stay at the Delftse Hout site, good facilities and many places to walk or cycle.
Situated on the edge of a National Park and only a short distance from the Hook of Holland.
Delft town is only a 10 minute walk away and has many restaurants and bars, prices were not cheap but then it is a tourist area.
On site restaurant offers a selection of meals or there is another a short walk away down the cycle track.
You need to remember that most places are shut on a Monday if you are planning a visit.

Spent 12 nights here, using Camping cheques. What a lovely site! The staff were very efficient and spoke perfect English. The shop didn't carry a massive selection but we usually walked into Delft and did our shopping at C1000 at Zuidpoort. Very reasonable and took our (MasterCard)Thomas Cook preloaded credit card. In addition, there was a bus from just outside the store which stopped at the site entrance (2 euros each) which was cheaper than taking the car in. The toilet facilities were thoroughly cleaned daily and there was a launderette, which housed a small library with some English books. We only used the restaurant once and weren't too impressed - when I order steak well done, I don't expect it to still be bleeding! The swimming pool is small but was wonderful the day the temperature hit 33 degrees.
There is a lovely lake just outside the site - fishing, swimming, windsurfing or just ideal for an evening stroll. There are many green parakeets resident in the area and caused a lot of excitement on the site as we all tried to photograph them!
I would definitely return to this site.

Just returned from this very nice organised site. I'm so impressed that this site has wifi (free) no matter where you are on site you get it, why do our sites that have wifi charge us, they should take a leaf out of these sites. We arrived from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, 30 mins down the road was the site. We arrived at 6ish and was greeted by very nice english spoked staff, given all the info. We went to Amsterdam by train, 24 Euros return which was reasonable for such a nice Hour ride. The Dutch people are so nice and friendly. Holland itself is so clean too. Delft was a very nice place to walk, we walked in most days. Beware of all the bikes though, they have more rights than the cars. The location of this wonderful site is in such a perfect spot. Please go to this site. I will definitely be returning soon
