We've just spent the one night here on our way back from a week's trip to Snowdonia and I'm only sorry that we didn't have time for another night.
Approaching the farmhouse, one has no idea of what a treat is in store once guided to the various pitches. As mentioned below, the lady owner is very charming, friendly and relaxed, making for a pleasant calming set up.
We chose a position which gave great views forward to the hills and sideways down the estuary - stunning!
The newish facility block was fine if not altogether gleaming but no complaints really; in fact it's a bonus to have such facilities on a site like this.
We managed a ride up Happy Valley and round to Aberdovey and had a great late afternoon meal in the Medina Coffee bar. Very friendly folk there too.
The night skies were amazing and waking up to more sunshine was a real treat and just had enough time to enjoy a final cuppa on one of the picnic benches chilling out before the drive home.
Wonderful and now we realise why some folk can't stand all the regimentation at the main club sites!

Small farm site. We did not use the facilities but they looked very nice from a distance. The thing that blew us away about this site were the stunning views. We had only booked for 1 night as we were touring but would love to go back for a longer stay. Lady we spoke to way charming and showed us to an amazing pitch. Lots of picnic tables set up to be able to watch the sun go down, lovely.

Fabulous place. Great site. No fripperies so lovely and quiet at night. Beautiful views. Will be returning next year. Could perhaps do with someone doing a last round after lights out just to make sure everyone appreciates that it really is time for lights out, but there's always someone that wants to sit chatting a little longer and louder than the rest of the site! a quick word when it got really late knocked that on the head. Just the prettiest place with bus route running past at the end of the road, so you can dump the car if you want to. Stunning beaches just a few miles away and the loveliest, most patient pony brought out each day for the little ones to have a little ride. Loved it.

We have been travelling around Wales on our honeymoon, staying at various places and a few different sites
This campsite was lovely - and after driving into a fair few campsites and turning straight around, it was much awaited!
The facilities were definitely their biggest asset - Being all lovely and new! There is male and female toilets and showers plus a family washroom (with a bath!) and a disabled toilet/shower
The pitches themselves were spread out quite nicely, keeping the tents and static homes separate - which was much appreciated
Certain pitches came with a lovely view, but not all of them.
In the area is the Dyfi Osprey Project which was fab!
The owners were friendly enough and there were lots of animals to have a little play with
Overall we have no complaints about the site - it was a little too high in price for our liking, but we feel it did live up to the price

This was our second time at this site, this time with electric hookup. We went with 3 other couple (two tents no hookup and one campervan with hookup). The owners were great and let us all pitch together. The area we were in was perfect with lovely views across the countryside. The site was much busier than when we first went but there were never any queues for the showers or toilets. I only had to wait once to wash dishes. They offer pony rides for £2 and the little one loved this.
The facilities are kept nice and clean.
There is plenty to do and this time we went to the nearby wildlife sanctuary and also went to Towyn.
We shall probably make this one of our regular sites to visit.
I think the only thing that would benefit the site is a little play area for the children.

This was our 2nd visit to this site, first last summer with a tent and our first visit with our 'new to us' trailer tent. We initially booked for 4 nights but extended it to 6.
The site has a clean shower block with plenty of hot water. There is also a small fridge/freezer available.
The views from the site are stunning!
Some lovely walks from the camp site - last year we walked to the coast (Aberdyfi) over the hills.
The owner is very friendly. She has a good knowledge of the surrounding area and will advice on walks.
Would recommend it for its great views and good base for walking.

Great site in a lovely part of the country. The site is in a good location with lovely views. The owners are very friendly the site is lovely and clean. We love going its perfect for a relaxing break. They have pony rides around the site for the kids. We have been about twenty times and the standards have been brilliant every time.

Lovely fields to pitch in. Well maintained. Grass mown. Picnic tables dotted around. Lots of space. Nice views.
Toilet block very good. 2 toilets for men, 2 for women. Clean. Separate shower room for men and women with 2 sinks and 2 showers in the ladies and a nice big area with a hair dryer. Plenty of hot water.
There is also a family room - didn't look in side so not sure what it had. Also a disabled access toilet.
Washing up good. 2 outside, 1 inside. Fridge and small freezer. Both were jam packed and some people have no idea of consideration for others do they!? The fridge looked like it could do with a clean and due to the open packs of greasy olives and the like I didn't fancy putting anything in even had there been room.
Open fires were available.
Pony rides for the children one evening were nice if a little short.
Very relaxing site.
Surrounding area is nice but we struggled to find anything significant to do - especially as we couldn't take the dog on Aberdovey beach.

A really lovely site. We turned up on spec on a sunny saturday in July and were warmly welcomed. 2 adults and a tent and we were told to pitch it anywhere we liked.
There are all sorts of pitches - some with views down the estuary (and a good stiff breeze to match) some with shelter and some with bases where you can light a fire using the logs the site provides.
Plenty of flat pitches with hook ups if needed and ground that doesn't bend your pegs.
The showers and toilets are excellent.
Definitely be back next time I want to go windsurfing in Aberdyfi or Ynys Las and/or mountain biking in Machynnleth.

After checking the reviews on UKCampsite.co.uk, we chose Gwerniago for a few days away with a new tent and we weren't disappointed. The site is only a 3star, but it is lovely. Driving into the site you pass through the working farm that's a little scruffy, but the campsite fields are picturesque, with some glorious views down through the valley. The site has several camping areas on different levels with lovely mature trees dotted around. Campers can pitch anywhere, although the electric pitches are roughly marked out. There are lots of picnic benches and fire pits around, so we managed to pitch around each of these.
The amenities block is excellent - built only last year, it's clean and modern with 2 male and 2 female toilets one side, showers the otherside. Each of the male and female shower rooms had 2 large shower cubicles with lovely hot push button showers. There is also a separate family shower room. The amenity block was spotless, we noticed the site owner inspecting/cleaning at least twice a day.
In Mychynlleth itself, there's a medium size co-op open until late, two chip shops and an excellent chinese takeaway. Catch the train from the station to Barmouth for a scenic ride along the coast, passing the Osprey nest and going over the rickety Barmouth bridge.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, extending from 3 to 4 nights. The only criticisms of the campsite would be the bins were sometimes full and there was nowhere to let the dog off the lead for a run. But that's minor. The site was great value for money and we'd certainly go back.
