Just returned from a night at Gwerniago. Love the place.
Spotted it a few months back and hoped to return for a few nights, in the end only managed one night due to a combination of weather and a virtualy useless Argos cheapo tent.
Owners are very friendly and the views from the site are stunning, the Dyfi valley is very beautiful.
Walked into Pennal on the night and had a few quiet beers in the Riverside Hotel, another friendly place.
Walked back in the dark with torches, good fun. Returned to a dark and quiet campsite with a few campfires going, people sitting around talking quietly, perfect.
Site dark and silent by half ten.
Just gutted we couldn't really stay any longer as our tent was leaking like an old tea bag.
Facilities are basic but clean, there is a toilet at the farmhouse for night use and a toilet and shower block in the static caravan field, showers were 50p for five minutes £1 for 10.
I love this place and reckon it's a gem, hope to return soon with my trailer tent.
Great comedy moment when a cow wandered into the tent field. Fantastic entertainment watching some fast jets racing up the valley earlier in the day.
Superb!

Beautiful campsite, easy to find and close to the local village (with a post office, small shop and a pub). Gorgeous valley views with ample space for tents and basic but clean amenities.
The owners were friendly and went out of their way to help us. Would recommend especially for young families.
They also accommodate for caravans and provide pony rides for the little people.
Great place for checking out Snowdownia, and close to one of my favourite Wales attractions, Corris.

Today we have returned from our bank holiday getaway. My husband had entered the Dyfi Enduro and we needed a site near by.
As there was only one review about the site we weren't too sure about booking but as we wanted EHU, I am so glad we did. Mair was just great and had reserved a perfect pitch with a view over looking the valley. I think you can choose were to pitch if you don't want EHU.
The site itself is on a working farm but you'd not know once on the campsite, it was relaxed peaceful and to say it was a bank holiday and with the dyfi going on too, the site wasn't cramped at all. It's a mixture of a few statics, caravans with the tents being on several levels in the field, which does give the site a natural feel not at all like some sites I've seen were your almost in rows.
The site is basic compaired with the one my sister stayed on with her family this weekend, but I felt their site was too full of rules and all children were told to be kept under strict supervision at all times but our site even though there were children playing it wasn't noisy and unruly at all and without the rules of the site my sister was on.
As the previous review said the site has 2 loos and 1 shower for each. Hubby can give the blokes shower the thumbs up even with the mud he was caked in, he said it was just right.
The dishwashing facility is in the lower field with the tents, this must have been put in since the last review was made.
You do have to drive to any shops etc as there are no pavements, they are only 10 mins ish away.
For the money, views and peace and quiet this site is for you.

This is a nice site with superb views as it is quite high up. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The pitches are reasonably level and electric hook-ups are available. The village is about 15 mins walk away and there is a shop and a decent pub which serves meals. Ladies and gents each have a shower and two loos - not exactly luxurious but spotlessly clean and towel and soap are provided. Showers cost 50p.
Only two downsides, and both could easily be remedied by the owners. First, the water to the washbasins is barely warm which made shaving difficult. Second, there are no dishwashing facilities which made things rather difficult because we like to cook. A sink, even outside, would be wonderful.
