Positive points
1 mile walk to St Ives and lovely beaches
Grass kept short on campsite
Caravan clean
Negative points
Drive onto campsite consists of crumbling buildings and old farm equipment.
Caravan very, very old.
Roller blind in bathroom:had to roll by hand as pull string missing.
Curtain in lounge area completely missing but tie back still there!
Sticker on fire saying WARNING unsafe to use.
Fire extinguiser out of date 2011!
Smoke alarm broken: battery rusty
Elecric box in cuboard said LAST CHECKED 2005
Cooker ignition not working, had to light oven and hob with matches.
Handle broken off bedroom door so unable to close door once inside.
Matresses in both bedrooms very uncomfortable due to springs.
Hairbands wrapped around end of curtain rails in kids room to keep curtains from coming off but didn't work.
Large lumps of paint from rusty stool on carpet, kept picking it up but by end of week the stool had no paint left on it!
Kettle leaked continuously and there was a pool of water on the worktop at all times, in the end I put the kettle on an oven glove.
Plates and bowls were mismatched and chipped.
Potato peeler was broken and can opener very old and difficult to use.
Hsd to keep my finger on tumble dryer button for the 15mins as it kept turning off.
I could come up with many more problems but all I can say is 'Faulty Towers'!

Hellesveor Farm camp site is situated a mile outside of St Ives and has access to the SW Coast Path from the site. There is also a bus stop nearby. We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived, as from the outside the amenities looked quite old, however, everything was kept reasonably clean and has been painted and tiled – there was also soap and a hand drier in the toilet block. There was plenty of hot water for laundry / washing up, but no separate sinks so we filled our bowl and washed up outside our camper.
The grass was kept short and the camping area was neat and tidy – there are also some static caravans.
There are no shops nearby so you need to stock up before arriving.

We booked this site for its closeness to St. Ives
The site was quiet and well laid out but the toilets and showers were full of cobwebs, I don't think they were cleaned all the time we were there, on the plus side there was always toilet paper but no soap and nowhere to hang clothes in the shower.
Considering the price we paid I was very disappointed with the facilities they all need updating.
The water points were rusty and hanging off and the grids blocked with leaves.
As this site also has static caravans to rent I think perhaps it is more geared up for them.
Compared to other sites we visited this year this was one of the most expensive and definitely the worst. Definitely would not return

Firstly we had a nightmare getting to this site! Probably our fault - but please don't do as we did and approach it by the 3306 from the East as it means going through the centre of St Ives which was impossible ( we had to turn round !)- so if you have a caravan then approach it by the 3311 and then the 3306 from the West. When we eventually found it we saw a brown camping sign on our left but I've a feeling that the first sign didn't say Hellesveor -so again -just a warning to you because when you do turn left you then see the Hellesveor sign and the site is then on your right.
The campsite is a farm and quite small. At first we were the only ones with a touring caravan. We felt it a bit expensive at £20 a night for what it was but maybe St Ives is more expensive than other resorts.
There were 2 showers for men and 2 for ladies. One of the ladies showers was next to the farmhouse and I recommend you use that as it was an electric shower so you didn't keep having to push the knob in! I also told my male partner to use it as it was just a shower on its own -not in a block. He said the mens showers were quite cobwebby!
We took the coastal walk into St Ives which should have taken about 40 minutes but we went wrong and we had our second nightmare in one day and ended up in a thicket of brambles ! So if you take this path make sure you keep walking down down down to the sea -then turn right -and you'll be fine.
The first beach you come to is quite unusual and we ate there at a beachside restaurant -it was very good. We then walked round to the main harbour beach. We really liked St Ives -so full of character - quite different from Newquay where we went to next! It was a 30 minute walk uphill back to the campsite but we got a taxi one night for £4.
If you have a sense of humour then I have to share it with you. Do you remember the French and Saunders sketch where they are both tough farming ladies and one feeds her finger to one of the dogs? This site brought that to mind. You'll know what I mean when you get there!

If you want to be as close to St Ives as possible, but want something cheaper than Ayr, then this is your best bet. Its a mile out of St Ives, but the walk is not half as steep as it is to Ayr (your closest campsite to St Ives), so its not too bad.
The campsite is set on a working farm and is quite small and friendly. It has some static caravans on the site, then there is an area for tents and tourers with electric hook-up if required.
There are toilets, showers and a pot-wash and laundry room. The toilet and shower facilities have been improved, but compared to a lot of campsites, the facilities are still quite basic. However, you get hot water so what more do you need. There are also two water points on the site - easily accessible.
The site is in a nice spot. You can either walk down the main road into St Ives (in some places there is no pavement or lighting, so watch out at night - best to take a torch), or you can go down the very scenic coastal footpath which leads directly from the campsite. I think this is a very scenic campsite, you really feel like you are out in the countryside.
There isn't a shop on the campsite, although you will find shops (including a Co-Op - open till 11pm) on your walk down the road leading to St Ives. We always went into St Ives for pubs, but did spot one off from the main road not too far from the campsite.
When busy, the site doesn't have much room for ball games and there are no childrens play facilities and being a working farm you would have to watch very young children. However, it is a very small and friendly site.
I have stayed on this campsite before and definitely would in the future, I think its a great campsite. The campsite owner is a very friendly lady and was very welcoming. It cost us £15 p/night for two adults and a campervan.
