Our first proper camp as a family. This is a pleasant little site on a bit of a slope, grass could do with a trim, the 2 showers are hot but basic, the toilets are ok, wash up facilities are ok with plenty of hot water, only 1 sink though.
This is by no means a posh site with all the trimmings, it's a basic down to earth site with everything you need for a pleasant stay & very well priced for the New Forest.
Moors Valley country park is a 15-20 minute drive, Lindhurst is about 10 mins. Lots to do around nearby but nothing on site so it's nice & peaceful.
We will definitely book again

The site is gently sloping with more than enough room and plenty of electrical hook-ups. After leaving the A31 the site is well sign posted from the road and as you drive through the farm. There is a good information board just inside the site gate, and you can pitch where you like.
The facilities are good: a nice area for washing up, the showers are perfectly functional and roomy even if they are in a shed, and there’s a shed with free access to a freezer for ice blocks and plenty of information leaflets about the local area. The new toilet units are a good investment, very well kept and clean.
We will definitely put this campsite on our list of places to go to for a good holiday when we’re next visiting the New Forest.

I was minded to add this review after reading the slightly mixed reviews earlier. This is a really picturesque campsite with no issues with toilets as far as I could see. It's is a lovely well-maintained campsite with beautiful vistas across nearby forest and fields.
The toilets were plush and clean (a new luxury trailer with showers; not a cobweb in sight) and the grass was well-tended. It's perfect for people seeking quiet (certainly on weekdays in May when we were there). The farmer was friendly and low key (which we liked) and my old slight disappointment was the lack of nearby walks (you had to walk 20 mins to the local pub at emery down which had loads of walk nearby).

The site is tucked away from main roads in the middle of the New Forest in a lovely peaceful setting with a view over the fields and a fishing lake.
There are only a few pitches and fewer electric hook up's so booking both would be advised.
There are only two showers, two ladies toilets and one gents toilet so in high season there may be a bit of a wait however they are cleaned to a high standard daily as is the washing up facility.
The owner of the site was very helpful and accommodating. There were no issues with dog fouling and if you are looking for a quiet tranquil site this is great.
The local pub (The New Forest Inn)is a short walk and the food and service there were great as was the atmosphere.
All in all good value for money, nice setting, basic but clean and we will stay there again.

Lovely quiet site with good clean facilities off the beaten track, with lots of space even when nearly full as it was when my children and I stayed.
The toilets were clean throughout out stay with lots of hot water in wash areas and shower, only down side was the shower had a push tap on it and it was not on for very long.
Short drive to shops with good choice. Near lots of places of interest, and the sea. Good selection of leaflets on site to advise and plan trips out.
My children enjoyed the site and the New Forest so much they want to go back again soon so are trying to plan our next trip.
We will be in touch again soon for a return visit well worth the long trip down from Yorkshire.

The site is well situated in the New Forest in a quiet location with lovely views. The site overlooks a lake but campers are not able to have access to the lake for insurance reasons (it is fenced off). Access from the road and into the site is a bit bumpy so those with low / laden cars need to be careful.
The site is gently sloping from the entrance upwards to the far side of the field. Pitches (unmarked) are pretty level. The small number of units allowed on the site contributes to a relaxed ambience. We visited at the start of the season and booked at the last minute. There were only two other units (both caravans). We were in a tent.
The photos show the facilities. The toilet trailer is separate to the shower hut (both unheated). There are two ladies’ toilets (with one sink) and one gents’ toilet (the light switches are up high in the corner by the door). The hut has two showers (push-button). There are freezer and washing up huts. There are no sockets to charge things. Unfortunately, there was no hot water on the first morning. A member of staff later advised that the switch had been inadvertently turned off.
I feel the owners perhaps need to be more direct with pet owners and explain quite clearly where they can take their dogs. One owner walked their dog up through the site itself instead of around the dog area.
There are no walks directly from the campsite – you’d have to walk back out to the main entrance. The nearest town is Lyndhurst where you’ll find shops, bank, small supermarket and many tea rooms to choose from. We ate at the New Forest Inn - a short distance from the campsite – excellent food and service but expect some delays with food when they’re really busy. The pub has a lovely garden. There are many attractions nearby – due to our short stay, we managed to visit Beaulieu – excellent value for money (excluding the food).
Overall, we gave the site 7/10. This site may not be for families with children and teenagers requiring entertainment. However, if you would like a site that is peaceful and don’t mind the more basic facilities then this is well worth the money.

Nice and peaceful campsite, quite small but great for a quick weekend break, kids loved it. Only downside was the toilets and showers only a couple of each, but like I say it is a small site. We would def go back. No good if you like the hustle and bustle of the big sites (privacy was great) Plenty of land around to walk the dog and every one cleaned up after their pets. Lets hope this continues by the time we go back next year and you don't get a odd few that ruin it for everyone

Great little camp-site, almost exclusive. Site is situated bang in the centre of the New Forest, couldn't ask for a better location. Right next to a lake and a great view to add, you couldn't ask for a better location.
As people have mentioned before, some parts of the site are on a very slight incline, but this does not prove to be an issue to be honest. Just remember to put your head at the top of the slope when pitching your tent and you will be fine, this is not a major issue at all.
This year (2009) saw new shed was installed with a freezer so you can have freezer blocks all day long, great if you don't have a fridge. The shed also acts as a tourist information point with leaflets and local info.
Toilet facilities are ok, basic but functional. Need a really good clean out to be honest (lots of cob webs and spiders - but I expect this and if you wear flip flops this is not a problem when showering, good hot water in the 2 shower cubicles but poor lighting in the toilet block.
There was no problems with dog poo!
There are 3-4 electrical hook up points for caravans, not much else in the way of facilities a basic site but that's all I want, friendly owner who visits daily to collect money off the new arrivals.
Cost is very reasonable we paid about £10 per day for a 6 man tent, so we couldn't grumble at that. We even stayed for 3 days longer than expected.
If you don't mind having no facilities (shops etc.) then this is a great site, I would recommend it for people who are after a quiet time as the location is fantastic for walks and wildlife.

This site is in a fantastic location and the owner is helpful when you see him! Unfortunately they are the only 2 nice things I can say about this site.
On arrival I decided to use the loo (only 1 for ladies) which hadn't been cleaned for days (and weren't cleaned the whole time we were there, despite heavy rain on the Saturday which caused the door on the ladies toilet not to be able to be shut and the floor to be muddy and slippery) the smell was awful.
We then tried to pitch our tent in an area which didn't have dog poo in (dogs are allowed to roam free on this site and owners clearly don't watch what they do!) which was on quite a slope. The dog poo got worse on the Saturday which was great for us as it meant our 2 small children couldn't just run out of the tent.

Stayed one night en route to the isle of Wight. A decent cs site in the new forest it has basic toilet and shower facilities and a couple of hook ups.My only gripe was the grass was in need of a good cut. There's a pub about a quarter of a mile walk away which is very pleasant through the forest
