We stayed on this site for 5 nights and this was just long enough to have a relax and visit some of the local points of interest. This is a level site with pitches for overnight stays as well as ones for longer stays that have their own water tap and electricity. The pitches were reasonably maintained, the general feel was that everything was ok, but would have benefited from a bit more care and attention. An example was that quite a lot of leaves blew into the covered bar area but were not cleared up, just left to litter the floor round the eating areas for several days. Cleaning of the toilet/shower block is done around 6am daily.
The site is owned and run by a family and English is spoken. Welcome sessions are held which explain the activity programme e.G. Visiting singers, petanque competition etc. The site has a nice swimming pool and space for outside ball games, quite family friendly. The reception sells passworded access to internet if you have a laptop. There is no shop, bread can be ordered though there is a bakery a short walk away.
Loches is the nearby town which is well worth a visit- or two. It is a short, level walk along the river to the town. There is an interesting mediaeval chateau in the old part of the town. Market days are also worth exploring and there are many stalls selling local specialities. The town has bars, cafes and restaurants so all tastes are catered for.
From this site it is a short drive to chateaux - one tip, get advance tickets from the Tourist Information office in town to save queues for popular places in high season, we saved ourselves a 90 minute wait that way!

This site is in a very convenient location, being virtually in the centre of the town of Loches. The site is quite large and has a choice of open or shaded pitches, (we chose shaded ones) which are pleasantly roomy; the toilet and shower blocks are spotless and pleasant to use, with piped music !
It is only a 10min. Stroll along the river to the town; passing a pleasant park. Once in the town, the château is worth a visit, also a trip on the road train which takes you around the notable buildings, with a running commentary via headphones. There is a market in the town on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The site is also a good base for visiting the numerous châteaux in the Loire.

We arrived during a very wet spell and were surprised that the site does not have any hardstanding at all - grass only. One big motorhome was up to it’s axles in mud. The receptionist told us this was the wettest start to a season for ten years.
Generously sized pitches, all with 10amp electricity, can be found either in partial shade or in a more open position.
Fully serviced pitches cost an extra €2 per night (using camping cheques). Bread and croissants can be ordered from reception for the following day.
My wife gave the loos and showers 4 out of 5. Never busy, in the new block the WCs are English style, the gents having an open pissoir with wash basins being mainly enclosed. I'm 6ft tall and broad shouldered but even I found the showers ok for room. Importantly everything is kept clean.
There is a beautiful walk alongside the river then through a lovely park into Loches town centre. The city has shops and cafes in the lower part with the ancient city above which is well worth a visit as 4.50€ allows you entry to all three monuments. Beware! No health and safety rules operate when climbing the donjon!
There are two supermarkets a short drive from the site. We bought diesel from the nearby Leclerc which is some of the cheapest around.
