Stayed for 3 days, using site as a base for touring the southern Lakes. In particular wanted to visit South Lakes Animal Park which proved to be an exceptional experience.
The site has a CL field and a separate field for other visitors. Everything is immaculate, the toilets/showers are better than most you will find and the scenery is stunning. The Burlington serves excellent meals at very reasonable prices.
No grandchildren with us - just as well as little for them here and we were better able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this excellent site.

This is our 'local' campsite (10 miles from home) and this is just the latest in many visits over the last 2 years.
If you enjoy the countryside, peace and quiet, stunning views, immaculately clean facilities and a friendly and helpful owner, then this is the site for you! The pitches are hardstanding (on local slate) and generally large enough to accommodate a caravan with a car in front, and there is plenty of grass between each pitch, adding to the feeling of spaciousness.
In the village there is a Post Office/General Store and 2 pubs, which also serve food, and the 'bright lights' of Barrow and Ulverston with supermarkets, shops, cinemas etc are within 10 miles. The Cumbrian West Coast, Western Lakes and villages are slightly further afield and can be explored by car or train. There are also local walks from the campsite following the public footpaths which run through the farm.
However, one of the greatest pleasures is simply to sit and relax in the rural surroundings of this excellent little site.

This is a nice, quiet, tidy site with disabled toilet facilities and recycling facilities. It has a 5 van CL field with a seperate 5 van field for other use. The hardstanding pitches are running slightly down but the caravan was easily levelled front to back. The approach is a bit tight in places but manageable.
There are towns and villages nearby with shops/pubs etc and we chose 'The Black Cock Inn' in Broughton in Furness which was very good for food and beer.
The toilet block has four toilets with showers in two of them and the block was very clean. There are good views over the Duddon Estuary on clear days. There is a rope swing with a tyre for the kids but little else. In all honesty, it probably suits the older couple or those looking for quiet and to be fair, it was a bit remote for us, but all in all, for £12 each night with electric hook ups on all pitches, it was good value. The owner is very friendly. Pets are welcome. Have a look at their website and make your mind up, but definitely worth a look if you like the location.
