We spent a weekend on this site and thoroughly enjoyed it. The warden is a very genial host and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. A very nice person to chat to (and she even offered to pick us up a newspaper on her way in on the Saturday morning!).

The site has hard standings for 5-6 units with EHU; plus some 20 other grass pitches. There are 2 toilet blocks although the smaller one was closed whilst we were there due to the time of year. The one that was open had 7 showers: 4 were double size cubicles in large self contained rooms with toilet and sink; 2 were stand alone showers; and one was in a fully equipped disabled room. These were kept immaculately whilst we were there.

Site charges are very reasonable too.

The site itself is behind a pub but you wouldn't know it as there was zero pub noise whilst we were there. There is a children's adventure play area that is between the pub and the campsite which was popular with pub visitors but again, did not cause any issue at all. The pub itself served very acceptable food at a usual price: a mixed grill, steak, 2 pints and a G&T came to £42. The meat was very nicely cooked and is sourced from a local butcher. I would have no issue eating there again. Service was very attentive also.

The site sits next to a small river which was teeming with fish. A walkway takes you to a small wooded area which kids would love; and bridleways take you along the river. 15-20 mins walk will bring you to the canal which also has plenty of flat walking.

The nearest shops are 15 mins away by bicycle in the village of Cam. There are several shops including a small Tesco plus a Shell garage before you get to the village centre.

I hesitate to provide such a good review in case it's full the next time we want to visit!. And we will be visiting again.

Stopped here for one night on our way to Cornwall and again a couple of weeks later on our return. Very well located just ten minutes from the M5, good pitches with plenty of space and very nice shower, toilet facilities, Individual rooms with shower, basin and toilet, plenty of hooks and nice and warm. Having a pub on site is a bonus too when you've been travelling for several hours, no need to cook, the food is very good. Jan, the manager, is helpful and informative about what's what. A footpath along the river and across a little bridge takes you into Rosie's Wood, a nice place to walk the dogs. A good site for a short or longer stay.

Spent 3 nights on this site, flat mainly grass pitches, very quiet whilst we were there so plenty of room, freeview reception fine. Jan was pretty much always present during the day time and was very helpful, security was excellent with 2 barriers + Height control barrier.

Next to A38 directly into Gloucester one way and Bristol in the other direction, but given proximity to road site was remarkably quiet.

Onsite pub offering reasonably price food and drink.

Bathroom facilities kept clean with 4 bathrooms in main block and 2 in small block in middle of site (closed whilst we were on site).

Small kids play area near entrance to site and a small river running along the edge of the site, maybe something to watch with really small children.

Would happily return to this site in the future only 4 miles from jnc 13 of the M5 so good for those travelling in either direction for the deep south west as a stopover site. Dursley has a Tesco, Sainsbury and Lidl so no worries when in need of provisions

What a lovely site. Jan the warden was so friendly and gave us a really warm welcome. Lovely pitches next to the river, the shower and toilet facilities were spotless and very well set out, each cubicle like a mini bathroom, the pub served lovely food, and we will definitely be back. Although we did not have any children with us the play area looked excellent, and although next to main road the site was very quiet at night and you couldn't hear the traffic. Lovely Berkley castle is only down the road, well worth a visit, and also Slimbridge wildfowl trust.

Stopped here for one night on our way down to Cornwall, what a nice and well looked after campsite, also well secured, Jan the warden is a lovely person and made us feel really welcome.

The only downside was that we ate at the George Inn and had one of the favourites a chicken curry, well I think the chef forgot to add any curry powder as it didn't taste of anything most dissappointing, it must have been one of his off days.

We stayed at this superb site for Easter this year. We arrived and had a lovely welcome from Jan. Our party consisted of both touring caravans and tents. The pitch sizes were perfect. Plenty of space for the children to play, with a great park and woodland area for making dens etc. Jan is fantastic with the children and will do all that she can to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. We would definitely return and recommend this site to families.

Had a fab week camping holiday on this lovely site this is our second holiday this year on the same site.

The wardens could not have been more pleasant if they tried, the site is always kept clean.

The facilities were very clean. The pub on the site served lovely food as always.

We would highly recommend this site to all family and friends.

Bryan & Lynda are excellent wardens, they make it there business to make everyone feel welcome and keep the site in excellent condition. The facilities are good and the shower rooms are a great improvement on the facilities experienced on our previous stays. The pub is handy, good beer and food is usually good quality and value. You can get cheaper, as someone has pointed out, but not of the same quality and quantity. However, the restaurant is useless at dealing with complaints, nothing is done by the staff on site, the website would not accept complaints at the time and going to 'info@. ' produces a standard reply and nothing more. Luckily there are other quality venues a short drive in each direction, where we took our business for the rest of the stay Such a shame that a most enjoyable stay was marred by this. To sum up we very much enjoyed staying on the site and using the pub with its friendly staff, until its management let them down.

We have spent 8 wonderful nights at this lovely site this month. The wardens Brian and Linda are very helpful and make you feel at home. The toilets, bathrooms and sinks are very good and absolutely spotless.

The pitches are large and have tall hedges around them. The pub serves nice food and drinks.

We really enjoyed our stay!

Just got back from our first camping holiday for many years we spent a week on this beautiful quiet site. The wardens Brian and Linda could not do enough for us from the time we arrived to the we left.

It is a beautiful peaceful wooded campsite with a pub at one end. There are lovely walks in the woods, kids will have great fun climbing trees and play pooh sticks. The play area for the children is fantastic. The kids can be playing while the parents have a drink sitting watching them.

The facilities are very clean and well kept. We have already booked our next holiday here in September hopefully taking our 3 year old grandaughter with us.
