On a weekends tour of Norfolk we decided to stay at Karma Farm for just one night in mid-November. Although we didn't turn up until 10.30pm Will has very friendly and helped us choose a suitable spot with hook-up - not too difficult as we were the only people staying that night.
I have to agree with the other two reviews here, the site itself is very basic but it's okay as long as you know that. There were two toilets, two sinks with cold water, a shower cubicle (though if you want a shower you'd have to fill one of the solar shower bags either with hot water or leave them out in the sun - of which there ain't much in November!) but nowhere to wash-up. I have to admit that I was rather surprised by the latter but it didn't cause major problems.
The site is an interesting place to stay; surrounded by lovely, quiet countryside and with its own birdwatching platform so you can look over the nearby lake. However, the site itself does feel like it's on the run-down side of bohemian if you get my drift. I reckon it could do with a bit more tlc to reach it's full potential.
However Will was a great host and delighted in showing us round the site and his farm - and at £10 a night I wouldn't complain and we'll probably return sometime soon.
To sum up; Bohemian site in lovely countryside but facilities are basic.

Karma Farm is just as the name suggests. The campsite is a small bit of land that forms part of a working, organic farm, which promotes itself as carbon neutral.
The owner (Will) is very friendly, and the prices reasonable. We also paid £7.50 per night for 1 tent and 2 adults.
A toilet and running water is provided. There is a shower ROOM with an un-plumbed bath, but no shower as such. Two solar showers (the kind you can buy from camping shops) are provided. We struggled to get much heat into them, as it was a bit overcast, but to be honest there's a basin in the toilet room, so a quick strip-wash is always an option too!
The site also has a barbeque area, a ping-pong table, and a platform for bird-watching.
As for the area, it really is idyllic. Very quiet and rural, but still only 20 mins drive/ride (we came in on a motorcycle which is a great way to explore the area) from the beautiful city of Ely whos sights easily take up a day, or 30-40 minutes from Cambridge. There are occasional planes taking off from the local RAF base, but these tend to stop early in the evening and aren't an annoyance. The village of isleham itself has two pubs, a chinese take-away, and a co-op that opens until at least 10pm, all within 20 minutes walk of the campsite. Make sure you visit the priory and the church while you're there, and if you have time, Grimes Graves (near Brandon village)
Overall, if like myself, you like somewhere quiet, then this site is definitely for you. Just be aware that the facilities are VERY basic, so bear this in mind if you're travelling with children, or you can't live without your mod-cons!

Myself and some friends have just returned from a lovely weekend at Karma Farm. The site for pitching was quite small, able to fit up to 7-8 tents and one trailor tent if needed. The ground was soft and pegs went in easily but the pitches could be seen as very close together. However, as I was with friends, this wan't a problem. The site itself was very basic. If you are looking for upper class camping, this place is not for you.
There was one toilet and sink (one tap so no hot water). The toilet was clean and loo roll provided. That said the campsite wasn't meant to open for another week and we were happy to take what was on offer. There was also a drinking water tap and I believe one or two electric hook ups.
Will, the owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. He is planning on putting in a solar panel shower. There was a BBQ area which was undercover. As Will is wanting to have an eco-friendly campsite, some of the site, like the BBQ area is made up from recycled items. Again if you are wanting luxury then you might not be so impressed but it was perfect for us. Will said he was hoping the farm would attract bird watchers and people who want to fish, as there is a marina near by.
The nearest pubs were about 20-30 mins walk. We didn't manage to get to them but apparently one of them does a mean roast dinner. There is also a Co-op a few minutes drive from the camp which is pretty well stocked. Also noticed a chinese and indian restaurant in the town. Newmarket is a 20 minute drive and is a lovely town to visit, as is Newmarket Races.
To sum up, if you don't mind the basics then you won't mind this site. This is reflected in the price at about £7.50 per night for a tent and 2 adults. I have already booked to go back. All in all we had a great weekend away.
