A little gem of a campsite. Very friendly, helpful owners. 5 hardstanding pitches in a line, in a small field behind the main house. We were the only camper staying. It relatively hard to find a 365 days a year site in Fife. Near the entrance to field is a small toilet/shower building with one of each in. The shower is £1 coin operated.
It was looking a bit 'end of season' but it was December and will probably be spruced up for next season. It had snowed a day or two previously and there was snow on the ground when we arrived. The owners son had salted the approach road and the way onto the pitch, so it was easy enough to get onto the pitch.
The pitches slope a little, so we used our ramps to level it a bit. At £10 per night, the site is good value. Also if you happened to need a running repair, the owner is an engineer and can repair the living part of a camper/caravan.
When finding this site, traveling up the B936, Authermuchty to Newburgh road, turn off into a no through road at 'Glassarts' cottage. It's about a mile up that lane, taking the left hand fork about half way up the lane. It's well placed for exploring Fife. We travelled the Coastal Tourist route round Fife from the Forth Bridge, looking at all the little harbours up the coast to Crail.
We then explored St Andrews, a wonderful historic university town - a sort of cold Cambridge by the sea! The site was then well placed to get away on fast roads back to Edinburgh the next day - well sited for exploration. We didn't get the chance to explore the local area however, but it looks interesting for lovers of quiet walks and wildlife.
Summing up - Good location, quiet, hilly woodland suroundings and friendly people - close to ideal.

Found this gem of a campsite through uk campsites. This site is small but if you like the country and walks this could be for you. Large pitch with electric hook-up at a reasonable price. The surrounding forest has many walks.
A short walk into Auchtermuchty (Known locally as Muchty)was very pleasant. The site owners have a wealth of information on the area. Spotted 3 red dear one morning, a lovely sight.
Will definitely be returning to this site.

Wonderful spot, Ken and Rosemary could not have been more fabulous. Will definitely return later this year. Quiet and peaceful location, which hit the mark. On this occasion the weather helped to enhance the views. Plenty to do and see in surrounding area. Ideal for dog walks, forest walks and generally relaxing.

This was our first visit, anywhere, we are new to motorhomes, (compromise for my wife, instead of a caravan) can recommend this site to anyone, especially if you like nice quiet walks.
Very peaceful surroundings, didn't try the cider or the venison, we'll get that on the next visit, which won't be very far in the future.
A very helpful & friendly couple.
Our dog loved the long walks through the forest, as there is no problems with letting him off the lead.

We visited here for 3 nights to see family nearby. This is a lovely quiet site, with basic but perfectly adequate facilities. The owners are really friendly, as are the resident dogs, who we met up the woods! They could probably get away with raising their prices a little, and we would have paid more than charged. A sign at the end of the road would be useful, also take your time going up the road if you have a touring caravan, as it was a little hairy in places when traffic was oncoming.
We will definitely be back!

Arrived later than expected on sat 9/11/13 and the owners could not have been more welcoming it was like home from home a cuppa was offered. A nicer more sincere couple nothing is to much trouble. Ehu sensibly positioned to pitches all facilities ideal. This site is so calm and peaceful and surrounding forest and glens are beautiful. Their campervan called Bluebell is an education to older styled touring. I never thought I would enjoy a week at The Clink [prison ] so much thankyou.

Absolute gem of a site. Quiet, secluded and sheltered. Great for dogs or cycling in Pitmedden Forest, forest has a choice of routes for cycling. Forest surrounds the site. Farm selling venison a short walk through the trees. Also a place next door which makes home brew cider, just take your own bottle. Kids loved the sheep in the field right next to the pitch, and also the chickens near the toilets. Owners are super friendly but not imposing. Not a large site by any means, only five pitches. Plenty of room though. 'muchty is a nice wee town a short drive away with a shop and a takeaway and a couple of pubs. Only one shower and toilet which are rustic but perfectly fine. Would we go back, of course! Great price and location.

This site is a very good camp site. The owners can not do enough for you, it is very nice and quite, the views are great. This is our 6th or 7th time now would recommend to any body. There are shops down in the village and a pub that does meals. Will be back year after year. Near by is Perth 20 miles, Kirkaldy about twelve miles, plenty of places to eat nearby.

We visited this site as our first port of call on our tour of Scotland on our motorbikes, the site is basic. But the welcome you will receive is second to none. The track to the site is a bit rough so be careful if you are on bikes.
Again the hospitality you will receive on arrival cannot be faulted, nothing is too much trouble, one of our group left an item behind and it was no trouble for the owners to post the item to me.
If we go back to Scotland we would not hesitate in booking again. I have got a caravan and would not hesitate in pitching it up at this site.

Visited this site for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. We spent the weekend relaxing and watching the sheep and rabbits in the field next to the site. The owners, Rosemarie and Ken, were very helpful and nothing was too much bother for them. The site is very basic but if you enjoy peace and quiet then this is the place for you. The pitches are hardstandings with electric hookup (£9 a night)and there was plenty of space for our 24ft motorhome. The toilet, shower, water and waste were basic but were all within easy reach of the site. The road in to the site is a bit 'nippy' but a motorhome next to us 24ft long plus a trailer approx. 12ft got in and out ok. Will definitely visit here again.
