We had a lovely stay at this site. The pitches are really big and well kept. We found it was quiet and peaceful. The owner met us on arrival and was helpful in giving us information about the area. As others have mentioned the walk down to the sea via the fields is great. We also saw the seals and if you wanted you could join the coastal path and walk for miles.
The facilities were good. The 50p shower gave me ample time.
There is a pub within walking distance which was friendly with excellent food, however the site is remote and I would say a car is needed.
I would recommend the site to others especially familyies as the playground and fields would be ideal.

This is our fourth year of camping, we get away roughly 4 times a year and have stayed at some lovely sites but this is the first time we have loved a site so much that we want to return.
We have 4 children 14, 7 and twins at 4. We were in a tent with no electric, the pitch sizes are lovely and big and are round the edge of a huge field so you can spread forward as much as you want. The field is lovely and flat, it's the first time we have camped without the milk carton sliding down the table! The facilities were clean, in the washing up room there are large fridges and freezers for you to keep food/ice packs in and a washer and dryer. There is also a mirror on the wall with plug sockets next to it for hair dryers and straighteners! I love that bit! The play area is great, lovely spacious area for football where they can give it a good boot and not annoy anyone! Also swings and climbing frames which my younger ones loved. Annwen, the owner, was very welcoming and gave us tips on where to go and recommended
The walk down to the sea for a 90 percent chance of seeing the seals. We decided to go on this walk, we set off in crocs knowing it would be muddy, didn't want to ruin our shoes and forgot the wellies! We trekked down the dirt track and across a muddy field, then down a steep bit to the beach. It was an adventure and the kids loved it and thought losing crocs in the mud was funny! After about 20 mins of being on the beach we spotted the seals. There were 5 of them and they stayed for ages diving under the sea and coming back up to watch us, it was amazing and made the trek totally worthwhile. Abersoch is only a 20 minute drive and we had a lovely day out there in the town and on the beach. The site has 360 degree views of beautiful mountains and sea. On the last evening we sat outside our tent and watched the sun go down with the sun reflecting off the sea, the perfect finish. We chose this site because of the excellent reviews and I think sometimes this sets you off with high expectations which are hard to achieve. But as I said, we loved it and will definitely be returning.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 young children.
Weather was bad on arrival, very windy and with no hedge or barriers from the coast side it was impossible to pitch as the wind just took the tent as soon as we lifted it up. We were very grateful to two fellow campers who volunteered to help as we couldn't have pitched otherwise.
The location of the elec hook up we were allocated was along the side of the pitch with a hedge then a busy road, which kept us awake as it was quite busy all night.
The play area was nice, plenty of swings and climbing frame, located next to the facility block, so it was good to keep the children entertained whilst washing up. Washing facility was ample with plenty of hot water.
Showers were not great, 50p meter which gave enough water to have a quick hair wash and rinse, but the shower was either too hot or too cold and when in the shower it would suddenly go freezing cold tried switching it all ways but nothing worked. They definitely need sorting out my little girl couldn't shower properly as it was far too hot for her.
Toilets were pretty clean no real issues there.
The field was very waterlogged and some cars were spinning and struggling to get in and out.
We decided to try the beach and had been advised by other campers that it was quite a walk, the owner said we could take the car down then just cross a field and we would be there.
The track down was very muddy and not ideal for a standard car I would only recommend it if you have a 4wd as you could easily get stuck or damage the underside and at the end of the path there is nowhere to turn but on a patch of very muddy grass. We then saw two young men that came down the track on quads and right where we needed to cross the field the were playing with the quads wheel spinning and churning up the mud, which made it virtually impossible to cross the field. After a long trek across two large fields and piggy backing the kids across the mud one by one we reached a steep embankment down to a very lovely bit of coast. We would not do that again as it was just too much for the children. I think if it was dry hot and sunny it would have been better.
On the first night of our camping trip a group of around 6 tents arrived and pitched quite late on they had some dogs which were not on leads and tried to get into our tent a few times which was not very good as our son is very scared of dogs, it also meant that we had to keep our tent zipped up in case they wandered in. This same group had loud music until the early hours of the morning.
We visited Criccieth and Pwllheli and they were fantastic lovely scenery and plenty to do.
All in all very disappointed and wouldn't go back to the site again.

We absolutely love this site and have been numerous times. The owner Annwen is such a lovely helpful person who is extremely accommodating. Facilities are always very clean and well maintained. There are fridge/freezers available to use (free) and a washer/drier (small fee)
There camping field is very large and the centre is kept free to accommodate children playing. In addition to this there is a small park. There are amazing views surrounding and it is such a peaceful place.
We have teenagers and they love it here, despite there being little to do on site. We are looking forward to returning this year as we have upgraded to a caravan.
Loads of things to do in the surrounding area this is an excellent base and great value for money.

This was our first visit to North Wales and we chose this site based on reviews on here.
Glorious part of the world and so much to explore!
The site itself is excellent - the site owner clearly takes pride in keeping everything spick and span as I bumped into her at 0530 in the morning outside the toilet block - where she pointed out a fantastic sunrise over the Snowdonia mountains in the distance!
Facilities are top notch - clean and modern. We liked the fact that there were fridges and freezers available at no extra cost (for a tent with no hook up this is somewhat of a boon and enabled us to buy provisions and keep them fresh!)
Yes the showers cost 50p but for that you get ample time to do what you need to do - even fussy ladies who takes a little longer than most. I am happy to pay 50p if it guarantees hot water.
We went on a quiet week - only on the last night were there more than 3 or 4 tents in the spacious field.
The local area is beautiful. We took in a sup at the Ty Coch Inn (number 3 in the world by all accounts of fabulous beach bars) and also visited Aberdaron which has a lovely beach. There is a beach at the end of the track but it is for the more confident of foot to get to. Not quite mountain goat standard but almost. Once at the headland though you are treated by outstanding views. Were it not for my wifes pathological fear of cows we might have done more walking in that regard.
The nearest 'big town' is Pwllheli which to be honest is something and nothing. We travelled there for the Asda as we thought we 'needed' to shop at a big supermarket chain. If you can get away with steering clear of a small town traffic jam the Spar supermarket at Nefyn is very very capable of catering for all your shopping needs.
All in all a fabulous holiday!
We will be going again that is for sure.

We stayed here for a week over the May Bank Holiday we were very impressed with the site. The shower block and washing facilities were of a high standard, the play park was fantastic for the children as there was plenty to do. We stayed on the large field with friends and had a great time playing rounders, cricket and frisbee as there was lots of space. We had a bbq most nights, the site is in a great location to visit all the local beaches and villages. The owners and children were very welcoming and friendly always willing to help and give advice. We have already booked again and would recommend this site to anybody as we had a lovely holiday.

We arrived at Hirdre Fawr on the Tuesday after bank holiday Monday. We were booked in on the Monday but after seeing the forecast rang the site and asked if we could have the same amount of nights but delay it by a day - what a good decision that was, they had a monsoon on Monday with winds to match. What we liked about this was the flexibility shown, whereas other sites we would have either paid up front and got a 'no' or would have refused.
The site is situated in a lovely location ideal for Pwllheli, Aberdaron and Nefyn. The site was quite wet when we arrived, not surprising with the amount of rain that had fallen. We were lead by Annwen to the large open field which was probably the wettest, but it was just about OK. Pitched up next to the road, which was very noisy, we would try and get a pitch away from the road next time.
The facilities here are excellent, very clean and modern shower/toilet blocks and on par with other sites where we have paid considerably more per night. The rubbish allows for recycling and the washing up facilities are excellent, clean and loads of piping hot water. Great play area for our kids and lots of kids for making friends. The owner was always around if you needed any advice but was never intrusive, you hardly realised you were staying on a working farm! There was also a great den and rope swing area for kids at the back of the farm. The beach is lovely, we spotted 12 seals very close in which our kids loved. The TV reception was excellent, this goes agianst the digital checker on this site which says no coverage!
There is a general store and post office in Tudweiliog just up the road 1. 5 miles and a small store the other way to Edern about 2 miles, both have all that is needed for a camping stay. We visited the farm adjacent to Hirdre Fawr (you cant miss it as there are 1, 600 free range cluckers roaming around) to get some eggs, well worth it they were the best eggs we have tasted, Emlyn the owner here is a real character too!
We will definitely visit this site again, in fairness with all the rain that fell the site stood up to it really well. Thankyou for a great stay.

Went to visit Hirdre Fawr Farm over Aug Bank Hol weekend. We went as a small family group to celebrate my Birthday and found the campsite fantastic value and a very well run, efficient and in a beautiful location.
Loads of other reviews tell you what is around so I won’t repeat all that info. We were located in the spacious field, yes next to the road but honestly it did not effect our stay at all.
Annwen and her husband were often around to help if we needed any local advice.
We were lucky enough to be going to the site when they were holding there end of season Barn Party. What can I say - we all didn’t stop dancing til the end. I hope it raised a good amount for the Air Ambulance.
My tips would be to visit the Ty Coch Pub on Nefyn beach. A little gem and Towyn beach.
We had a very enjoyable time and are definitely planning a return visit next year.

Great site, really friendly and welcoming. Family are so nice and helpful. We had tents and tourers together in a group and plenty of space, with hook up for some.
Toilets clean and plenty of them, and showers good but 50p for 7 mins did seem to go quick! Great facility for ice packs, and washing up duties.
Play area brilliant, kids loved it, felt safe. Did not make it to beach this time, but will go back for sure!
We struggled a bit turning caravan through narrow gateway, but help was on hand, good to stop and get directions to pitch beforehand.
Totally recommend ty coch inn, and a visit to town beach, also Morfa nefyn chippy!

All in all an excellent campsite, flat well kept pitches with electric hook ups, play area for the kids with plenty of room to run and play, well equipped clean showers and toilets. Great washing up area with free of charge fridges/freezers to keep your fresh/frozen food in (altho freezers were very full). The best part was the private beach along a path and through 2 fields (about a 15 min walk)or if your car was up to it you can drive to the cliff edge. A bit of a scramble down to the beach but worth all the effort as its quiet, clean, private and perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and jumping off the cliffs into the water. If your patient enough you can spot the grey seals off shore. Would not hesitate to recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a great campsite in this area.
