After a very long journey from the North West, with a pick-up in London, we finally arrived at the site at 10.30pm on Friday night and were greeted by a smiling Charles who showed us to the Yurt.
We are pretty much non-campers and had decided that booking the yurt as (1) a surprise for the kids and (2) not having the hassle of having to erect a tent and taking a chance on the weather was a good option for us.
The yurt was lovely, with a double bed and 2 single camp beds supplied by the site.
The site itself is small, yet tranquil and the loos (one closed off but out in the open and the other in a hut) were basic, but clean and didn't smell at all. The shower was better than the one we have at home and for a basic campsite was a luxury.
The owners, Charles and Anni, were very easy going and obviously love the place, which is a working farm with chickens and geese and the occasional peacock strutting its stuff. Not forgetting 'Pesto' the dog (you'll have to ask the owners how he got his name - nothing to do with pasta).
It was a great location set about a mile outside a lovely village and on the border of some of the prettiest regions of the Cotswolds.
None of us (a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids) missed the TV or not having the internet and the camp fire we were able to make on the Saturday was great fun.
Don't expect the height of luxury, but you can't go wrong at this site and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone of any age.

Lovely site, but you do need to be prepared to rough it. No running hot water (apart from the shower which we didn't use), and the compost loo's were not to everyone's taste - though the children thought they were great fun! No they don't smell either, I rather liked peeing in the open air (out of view - don't worry!) but I wouldn't want to come if the weather was going to be inclement. (The number 2's station does have a roof!)
The site is small, and priced slightly high for the facilities (we thought) but this does mean that there is plenty of space. The orchard is lovely, and camping in crab apple season would be lots of fun!
The site is not flat - though we didn't find this a problem with our air bed and the children had 2 carry mats each. If you are on one carry mat then you might not find it too comfortable.
Not easy to find - read the instructions carefully especially noting the red and white striped pole - I was far too confident and we could have been there 30 mins earlier!
The walk in to the village is not really suitable for smalls - either a long way round or up a busy road. However the village is thriving and lovely.
The owners were very friendly, as were the peacocks, ducks, dogs and goats.
This is a very rustic site. No play ground either, but a large wooded area better than any play ground.
All in all we had a lovely weekend, and would go back without any misgivings.

Spent a very pleasant weekend here Whitsun bank holiday.
In its first year at the time of writing (2010), the site is small (20 pitches) and each tent is afforded a lot of space so consequently the price is a bit on the high side (£20/tent/night) but well worth it IMO for a number of reasons:
Space: plenty of space for each pitch. We shared an orchard with only one other tent (and a flock of goslings), even though the site was at capacity.
Shade: Most pitches are in woodland so well shielded from sun and wind.
Campfires: Allowed!
Wildlife: It's a working farm so there was no shortage of creatures to entertain the kids from the above mentioned goslings to baby goats and peacocks.
Amenities: A piping hot shower and a very nice compost loo - so much better than chemical ones. We rarely had to queue for either.
Situation: Only a mile from the Thames and some nice rural pubs yet still easily accessible - about 25mins from the M40.
As a fairly disorganised, last-minute camper I was wary of giving too good a review for fear of the place becoming too popular and always being full when I wanted to come. However this would have been most unfair on Charles and Annie, who deserve every success for having made their site such a pleasure to use.

We stayed in the gorgeous yurt last weekend and had a great time. Beautiful unspoilt countryside, lovely owners who could not have done more for us, great 'green' facilities and the yurt itself was fantastic. We had everything we needed (wood for the stove, cooking equipment and utensils, candles etc.) and the owners were very accommodating in terms of allowing us to move the cooking equipment into the yurt because of the cold! having said that, even in the -5 temperatures, we were warm and cosy with the stove going! We have already recommended Turkey creek to a number of friends and hope to come back very soon.

We stayed at Turkey Creek in February 2010, we stayed in their yurt and we had a brilliant time. The site is in a lovely area, not far from a lovely village with all amenities. The yurt was absolutely fantastic, really nicely decorated, very cosy, the little wood burning stove kept us lovely and warm which was brill considering it was February. Inside the yurt there is everything you might need, including a kettle, crockery, cutlery and outside their is a barbecue and a gas stove. The owners were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had a perfect stay. We were given fresh eggs every morning, plenty of logs for the fire and they made sure we knew to call them for anything. At the moment there is no shower block but the owners let us use their bathroom. There is a compost loo not far from the yurt. We were kept company by the hens, peacocks and dogs!
