Have just returned from our third stay on the Wellington Lake. We were not disappointed. Greeted by friendly staff in the lovely tea room, no problems with pitch, they are all of a generous size and fully serviced.
Very spacious shower rooms, proper adjustable temperature showers and nice and clean. We stayed for three nights, its a really peaceful atmosphere with plenty of wildlife particularly Geese and groups of Goslings (not so quiet but lovely to see).
Fishing was good, saw some very big carp, caught a few but we are pleasure anglers so don't try particularly hard. Security is good with Managers making their rounds several times a day.
We will be back.

Just returned fromA lovely Weekend at Waterloo Farm. A lovely quiet peaceful site, great site if you like peace and quiet, countryside, walks, bike rides etc and fishing but we don't fish. Lovely tea room with nice food, James made me something different as I don't eat meat thank you. Made very welcome and then left in peace.
A couple of loo/shower rooms in each field, which are large and nice and warm. A place to empty for mhomes too.
Cant wait to return next year

Having stayed here twice previously we were almost put off by some previous guests reviews. As we really like the fishing on the lakeside pitches we decided to go back and we were not disappointed. The site owners were extremely helpful and accommodating with a couple of our requests.
The facilities were cleaned each morning, soap, paper towels and toilet rolls were all available. Pitches are of an excellent size with 2 pegs to fish from on the lakeside. Fishing was really good as always with good sized carp, bream etc.
Lovely walks in both directions along the Brampton Valley Way and Market Harborough is a lovely town to visit. Will definitely return in the future.

We have returned from a two night stay at this site.
Checking in very pleasant we were on the family site as this was the only one left not much of a view but ok for a couple of Nights. Went on the track on our bikes the tunnel is worth a visit.
The toilets and shower cubical clean and tidy but I felt it needed some external lighting at night as did the walk back from the cafe/bar no lighting at all. We had a meal which I found very enjoyable and a nice bottle of wine.
This is a very quiet and relaxing site I would visit again.

Very welcoming site owner on arrival, showing us to our pitch. We had a pitch lakeside so awesome if you fish (cost included in pitch fee). Shower/toilet block is two wood 'chalet' type sheds which were clean and warm with two rooms in each for men and women.
Site could do with some cosmetic attention like hiding tractors equipment etc, and some planting up with bushes between fishing pitches as it gets cool if the wind picks up. Close to lovely town Market Harborough and Foxton locks if you wish to go offsite. A disused railway line runs through the site so makes good for walks/dog walks
Forgot to say site reception doubles as a café where they do sunday lunches, teas, snacks, they even had a wedding reception for one of the campers the weekend we were there so assuming licensed for drinks.
Only major fault is the bin area not being very tidy/organised and a very rude/short cleaning lady who got snappy with us whilst trying to guess where the overflowing rubbish area was suitable for our bags.

Tricky one this, because on the one hand it ticked so many boxes but in reality fell short on others.
We wanted a site that offered pitches next to a lake. We both fish and get a bit fed up of dragging gear to a lake on the other side of the site. So from that point of view the site cant be faulted. The pitches are literally feet from the lake edge. Huge pitches, 2 fishing platforms on each, electric and water. The lake and the fish are in good condition which is also a plus.
We went with friends, pitches next to each other and did enjoy good weather and a couple of lovely nights drinking wine by the waters edge. Very nice indeed.
The toilet/shower facilities are good albeit there are only 2 of each but we never had to queue or wait.
However on the downside, the site looks a bit scruffy and a bit uncared for.
The pitches whilst big are poorly maintained, the road around the site is again poorly maintained, the waste/recycling area is a disaster (don't think it was emptied/cleared in 4 days we were there), the dog waste bin near to us wasn't emptied in the 4 days we were there either, the whole site just looks scruffy. There is no attention to detail at all.
The surrounding area though is worth a visit, Market Harborough is a lovely market town and a visit to Foxton Locks (20 mins) is a must.
So whilst the site satisfied in 1 way its let down in so many others.

This site is in a perfect location surrounded by countryside and very peaceful. If you like walking there is a disused railway which is now a public footpath that is next to the site with lovely walks into Market Harborough (half hour) and neighbouring villages. We stayed on a lakeside pitch which is exactly what it says, just a couple of strides away from the lake. The fishing pegs are private to the pitch and my husband caught plenty. The lakeside pitches are enormous, include fishing and are fully serviced. The site is dog friendly. And now for the BAD POINT - The toilets and showers were dirty on arrival and were not cleaned during the five days we were there.. There were no hand towels in 3 out of 4 of the toilet/shower units. The bins overflowed with rubbish. The floors were very dirty. One of the ladies showers was not controllable, took 10 minutes to get warm water which then went to very hot and freezing cold without touching the dial. By the time we left the toilets were extremely dirty - toilet brushes were available but no bleach/cleaning fluid. Based on comments by other guests this was the norm. Such a shame as everything else was good.

This was our second visit to this site to visit people in the area. It consists of 3 separate areas- a small family area away from the lakes, the other 2 are adult only and are overlooking the fishing lake or around the fishing lake. There are also 2 log cabins. I don't think there was a children's play area. The site itself is spacious enough with large hard standings but we felt that not enough care was given to the hard standings - there were weeds growing through. Also the grass around some of the seasonal caravans needed to be cut right back. We were overlooking the lake and certainly needed our blocks as on quite a slope. The shower rooms could do with a spring clean. They consist of a shower, toilet and basin in each room, 2 for ladies and 2 for men. Plenty of room for getting changed. There is also a separate toilet for both male and females. For a site of that size I would expect a couple more showers as could see it getting very busy and having to queue. There is a small pitch and put on site but that was in need of having the grass cut. They do recycling on site but it's not very clear which collection box was for which. The bins area wasn't adequate for the size of site and basically they needed emptying more than once a day. There is a lovely cafe on site which catered for breakfasts and lunches. Very reasonably priced and food was very nice. There is also a craft shop on site that hired bikes out but that wasn't open at all during our stay. Staff and owners were very pleasant and helpful. In the 3 days we were there however we didn't see anyone working on the site apart from emptying the bins first thing.
Location of the site is brilliant. Just over 2 miles outside of Market Harbourgh and can be reached by walking along the disused railway. The town itself has a lovely range of shops and cafes.
All in all we would certainly visit again but feel that so much more can be done as this site has the potential to be a 5 star site.

Stayed on one of the lakeside pitches, which have electric water and grey waste on each pitch. Pitch was very large. View of the lake was lovely. Took a bike ride both up and down the Brampton way, easy riding, don't forget your torch for the tunnels though!.
Cafe was good, drinks and a warm panini was lovely.
Downsides. Sit a little run down, grass could be kept better, and the shower block needed the cobwebs removing, and the pedal bins cleaning out more often. The waste/rubbish area wasn't adequate for all the vans on the site, needs to be better kept.
Tea room was closed by 5 pm on the Sunday, and the craft shop wasn't open at all during our stay.
Easy access to the site, non lakeside pitches were quite on a slope, would need levelling chocks.

We've just spent a lovely couple of nights here trying out our new caravan. On arrival we had a lovely greeting from Lorna, who showed us to our pitch. One with a lovely view.
Being novices and due to motor mover not working we had to park manually. And were assisted by a staff member and a fellow camper. Very grateful for this.
The toilet and shower facilities are superb. Best we have seen so far, lovely and warm on a cold morning.
Lovely walk along the Brampton Valley Way to Market Harbourough, took around 40 minutes.
We will return to this site again. Highly recommend.
The only downside for me personally was no WiFi. But can live without it for a few days.
