We booked at the last minute and were allocated the last remaining pitch on the main, small camping area. The electric hook-up was too far away for our lead, but luckily we had an extension lead with us. We were not told about the £20 deposit for toilet keys before our visit, but were trusted to pay at the shop the next day. This all seemed a bit haphazard to me.
The toilet was spacious, and very clean. We were looking forward to our cream tea in the shop, but sadly they had run out of scones. :-(. We were given toasted tea cakes instead.
All in all a very pleasant little site for a short break.

Camping & Caravan Club Listed site (5 pitches - all fully serviced). Small wooden chalet with 1 male and 1 female toilet, 1 shower and 1 laundry room. On site tearoom, lovely breakfast, friendly staff.
Also log cabins available for hire overlooking fishing pools, which seems to be the main interest of the site.
Site backs on to cycle / walking track from Market Harborough to Northampton, ideal for hikers / cyclists. 15-20 mins from site to Market Harborough for shops, restaurants, etc. Great Oxendon village 10 mins from site but only a pub no shops.
Pleasant, quiet site overlooking farmlands, can be breezy.

We stayed here for 4 nights and where fortunate to have beautiful weather. Our pitch was situated on the rear field next to the middle fishing lake, the pitch had a slight incline but nothing severe enough to bother about.
The field was beautifully maintained and the groundsman who lived on the same field was a very pleasant chap and very helpful. The fishing for me was rubbish but perhaps that's more me than the lake as others seemed to have no problem and said that it usually fished very well.
The toilets where basic but clean and adequate unfortunately although according to the Ukcampsite legends there are showers and electric hook ups, but in our field there was only one hook up (although the owner said he planned to put more in soon) and we where also told that the showers where only for Camping and Caravaning members only.
There is a lovely tearoom there that serves food most of the day, we didn't eat there but the food looked great. So to sum up if you want a pleasant quiet basic holiday in relaxing surroundings then this is a must, we will definitely be going back.

Stayed just one night as I was working in MH the following day. Really friendly and helpful welcome. It has slightly strange positioning of tent pitches, sort of on a verge, but the grass was nice and short and it was level, with plenty of space, so I have no complaints at all.
The loo and shower were both spacious and absolutely spotless. There is wireless internet, which works properly, and the breakfasts in the cafe are wonderful!
It's a quiet, peaceful site down a track quite some way from the main road and it sits alongside a disused railway which has been turned into a walking and cycle path, which was very pleasant to stroll along. I will certainly stay here again next time I'm in MH.

Visited this site for one night this week and wished we could have stayed longer it was so good! It's in a superb position with views across farmland. Each pitch has a shingle covered hardstand with electric, water and Chemical disposal all nearby.
The hosts are very welcoming and Breakfast in the conservatory is to be recommended.
The facilities are located in a log cabin and are like new. The only minor gripe is that the sink plug in the Gents wash basin didn't have a chain on it, the water was so hot it almost scolded my hands retrieving it. There was also a lack of hand towels in the toilets.
Locally, we found Market Harborough a great place for shopping with cheap car parking and no height restriction barrier. Nearby Foxton Locks is also well worth a visit.
We'll certainly go back when we're next in the area - very nearly perfect almost a 10 out of 10!

Stayed here for the night as we had friends staying in one of the log cabins and we wanted to enjoy the evening with them, a chinese meal and one or 2 drinks without worrying about driving home. Its a perfect site with the added bonus of the restaurant and bar. The owners make you feel very welcome. Also has a small craft shop on site, the fishing lakes seemed very popular, The facilities are kept very clean and tidy, Very close to Market Harborough. Plenty of walks and perfect for those who bike. Its a local site for us so will be back later in the year. Well worth a visit.
