Now we are retired we look for a place we can walk the dog and a local pub with good food & beer. This place has both and is a site we will be using again. Facilities were basic when we visited but with the motorhome that is not a problem. The owners have not had the site long and have done a lot of work to improve it. Expect the hookups and showers to be up and running by our next visit. We will revisit in the autumn and see how the site has improved. There are 2 shops in the village, about 15 minutes walk and there is a path all the way from the site entrance. The COOP is the best of them. The site is level, on firm ground but no hardstandings. It is well drained and I don't see a problem in the winter. Owners very helpful and informative, just ask. Good children's play area and fishing on the river if you go in for that.
As our first time camping we wanted to stay local. This site is new and has great potential. We were the only ones camping on our one night stay and lack of facilities and teething problems for us (broken airbeds :() meant we had to cut our camp short. The pub itself seemed very nice and the owners were nice. Like I mentioned before lack of facilities really let this place down but they are currently working on this and I'm sure to return once its site is improved. Its not far from Thrybergh country park which is a lovely day out and there is a shop pretty local although we didn't walk to it and the pub prices were reasonable. The pitching prices were fantastic. And there is a playset for the kids next to the pub which has outdoor seating. Overall much to be done but overall good site.
Not an established site yet. Few facilities. However you are welcome to use the pub toilets/basins but there is no shower as yet. Currently a portaloo in a very large field off the back of a pub. Next to main road. Huge field though.
We didn't stay due to lack of facilities but I understand there's a block due to be built for next season. Nice children's play area. So should be good. Local Thrybergh lake/visitor centre worth a visit. Wouldn't recommend going unless you are fully self sufficient but next season might be worth a look.
