JUST LOVED THIS PLACE. Small site but full of character. Views to die for. Facilities a bit dated but very clean. Owner very friendly. Just a lovely rustic site. Pitches very level. Great centre for touring the area. Will be back very soon. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for two nights over the Easter weekend as I cycled around the North coast. I love the views and the huge hill at the campsite. Owners are very friendly & Ben the dog is always around to keep and eye on things.
Toilet & Bathroom facilities are clean, and the shower is actually better than the one I have at home! I have literally no complaints about this campsite. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Compared to other campsites, I feel this one feels more homely, and I was in a tent! I wish I could have stayed 3 nights instead of 2.

We stayed here for two nights in order to change over our caravan from a nearby dealer. The weather was wild and stormy but the welcome we received from Mervyn and Ben made up for the weather. Mervyn could not have been more helpful and we really liked the site. We have already decided to return later in the year and would advise everyone to give it a try. It is really peaceful and is in a lovely area. Toilets, showers, electric, play area as well as meeting rooms and hard stands are available.
Thank you Mervyn.

Spent a few days on this fantastic spot in August. Had a wonderful time with the family on our first visit to Northern Ireland. However Mervyn was a star. Best of all though was lovely friendly Ben, the Collie.
Also the weather was lovely, thank you Mervyn for sorting that. Can't wait for a return visit.

Just back from a nights camping at Hillfoot. Fantastic wee campsite, ticked all the boxes and with an owner who always has plenty of time for you, and for a chat or two for that matter. The mountain views are spectacular from this we site, we'll sheltered by hedgerows. Always warm water for washing up. All in all I would highly recommend this site, definitely be back.

We visited Hillfoot in july during our trip to Northern Ireland. This was one of the nicest campsites we have ever visited. The owner is very friendly. He even drove to the next town to buy campinggas, since we had run out. He also has a lovely dog called Ben, who kept us company every now and then. Highly recommended!

I might actually say this is the best site I've ever stayed on. The local area is stunning, and so quiet. Amazing views. There is a nice shower/toilet block and the local village is lovely and useful. The owner was very friendly and helpful, always had time to chat and he obviously loves what he does. I really can't think of a negative. Highly recommend!

We stayed here last week and from the moment we arrived the owner was very pleasant and helpful. Picked out the best pitch for our tent, and showed us all the facilities.
We had electric hook up and the ground despite previous rain was not saturated and well drained.
The views are fantastic and so quiet, plenty of wildlife to look out for.
We were pitched up near to the main toilet and shower block which were clean and well maintained, always plenty of hot water and wonderful power showers. The washing facility was also very clean too. There was a lounge area that we could use to sit in and watch tv if you wanted. Although we did not use the newer shower block, we did look around it and looked very good too, in this block there is also a sitting area with a lovely wood burning stove that would be ideal to sit and relax by.
There is a children's play area to that looked appealing to younger children.
Less than 5 minutes drive is the town of Dungiven, with two supermarkets, the Eurospar has the cheapest petrol prices that I noticed in the area, the other store further up the road, was larger and had more stock with an off licence too.
The owner was always around and very approachable should you need anything, his knowledge of local amenities and history is excellent, and enjoyed the conversations with him of an evening.
The temperature dropped in the evening during our stay, and he lent us a very welcomed duvet to lay over the top of our bedding.
It cannot go unmentioned of our regular 'guest' Ben, the very friendly and popular campsite dog, as the site was quiet we got most of his company!
We would certainly recommend this site to anyone looking to explore the area, Belfast was a little over an hours drive, Antrim Coast 40 mins, Londonderry 30 mins, lots of walks nearby too. Not sure who was more saddened at leaving at the end of the week, us, the owner or Ben, one thing for sure, we will come back!

Stayed here for six days end of august, very quiet and peaceful excellent place to just chill out, everything was very well kept toilets, showers etc. Were spotless, if like me you have no transport then you have a walk of a couple of miles to dungiven, the local taxi will cost you £3, 00 same as a pint of Guinness, I would certainly go back to hillfoot campsite, one last thing the prices were really good.

From the moment we arrived at the site we could not have felt more welcome. The owner, and his lovely dog, Ben, showed us to our pitch, which was close by the showers and toilets, and there is also a handy water standpipe. The site is very well tended and the owner was often to be seen doing little jobs or mowing the grass. He is always happy to stop for a chat and is a mine of information for places to visit. The toilets and showers were spotless and the water plentiful and hot. On one of our last nights we felt like having a little fire, and the owner supplied us with the brazier and also the wood. We felt very welcome and safe here, and the owner is very conscious of keeping the site quiet at night.
Dungiven is handy for a little supermarket for your shopping needs. Our two little girls were made to feel very welcome and there was a little swing and slide set which they played on to their heart's content. They also loved Ben. We travelled to Benone beach a couple of times which is Blue flag with lifeguards. The views were spectacular. Be aware, that it does get VERY busy and cars park quite low down to the shore and sometimes had to be moved as the tide came in! Having a National Trust membership we took advantage of it and visited Carrick-a-Rede bridge and also Giant's Causeway, which were lovely as we had a brilliant 2 weeks unbroken sunshine.
We also took the children to Belfast for a day trip and visited Titanic Experience, which was fabulous, but not cheap. Also on our itinerary was a visit to Derry city, which had a lovely atmosphere and there was a food festival on when we went. We didn't have the time to travel further West, but County Donegal was very enticing in the distance. We would definitely stay here again if we visit this part of NI again.
