Best campsite I've visited. The owner, Mervyn was lovely, he waited on the main road to guide us as it was getting late and we got lost. He even helped us pitch the tent!
The pitches were large with plenty of space between. Shower and toilet facilities were excellent, housed in a lovely little lodge with cooking area tv and an open fireplace, very cosy.
There was a play area and it was dog friendly.
A very picturesque in a valley at the foot of the hill. Peaceful and spacious with a lovely atmosphere, couldn't fault it.

Just home from a great touring holiday in Ireland.
This is one of the best sites we have stayed in, in all the years we have been camping and caravanning.
So clean and tidy and welcoming from the owners and their dog (including a daily visit from Ben 'the dog'). Would recommend this site to anyone staying in Northern Ireland, very convenient for travelling to all parts. Lovely scenery from the site too, peaceful and very well kept site.
Would definitely return to this site, thank you for a great holiday.

Just back from 8 nights at this wonderful peacful campsite. We had a very warm greeting from Mervyn, the owner and his wife. We were shown to our pitch, then round the campsite facilities, which were spotless.
Our weather wasn't great but it was just as relaxing, sitting at the tent taking in the beautiful scenery. It was definitely a very dog friendly site and our dog was made very welcome, which isnt always the case with some sites. Despite the amount of rain(and it rained, at times!) the site was well drained and dried very quickly.
Mervyn was very informative of the immediate and surrounding areas and was able to give us advice as to where to visit which was also great as we had never been to that area before. He also made a point of speaking to us at least once each day to check all was ok.
The 'scented geranium' nursery in the adjoining plot was also very lovely and Annie and Guy very friendly to chat to, as were 'Bill & Ben'
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hillfoot and hope to be back many times, definitely could not fault this site in any way.

Just back from a great weekend on this lovely site. We were with a large group of friends and had the campsite to ourselves which suited us perfectly.
The site has a beautiful setting with the Glenshane mountains behind (climbed by the more adventurous in our group!) and overlooking fantastic countryside.
The five hardstandings were wide and the camping area was well drained and flat.
There was plenty of room for the kids to run about and a swing and slide to help keep them amused.
The washroom facilities are housed in a little cottage and are clean and warm. Food prep and dish washing facilities are also in the cottage which were adequate for us as a group but I'm not sure how it would work out for groups of strangers. There is a washing machine, tumble drier and hairdryer available. The kids enjoyed the air hockey table in the games room. There is a little sitting room with games, books, a television and wood burning stove which was a fantastic for warming up and relaxing in when the Northern Ireland weather lived up to it's reputation!
All in all this is a great little site and we hope to be back soon!

This campsite is a little gem! The owner is very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The site is located on the outskirts of Dungive about 30 minutes from Londonderry / Derry or an hour from Belfast and is over looked by the Glenshane mountains. The lower parts of the site is still being laid to accommodate tents but it has 5 hard stands for caravans and plenty of room for tents. We stayed in an Outwell Vermont L family tent and had more than enough room to pitch! Hook-up is only available for 5 lucky guests, with one water standpipe and a waste toilet.
Other Facilities include 2 shower rooms with toilet, washing up area, TV and games room and washing machine / tumble dryer. All very clean and looked after! If you enjoy walking or just relaxing this is the site for you but my 2 kids got bored, so bring enough games for the kids…
Like I say this site is a little unknown gem!
