Excellent location with stunning views. A lovely small site with both caravan/camper and tent pitches. Electric hookup available at a reasonable cost. The camping pitches are flat and spacious. The toilet and shower block is good although the shower temperature can be a bit erratic, they are free however so no real complaints there. There is even a tv room/lounge to keep the kids occupied as well as a children's play area. Ben the dog greets everyone on arrival and spends time with you while you pitch your tent, he is very friendly and mild mannered but soon moves on if there is no food available, although he will check back regularly to see if you are cooking. The site owner, is always on hand when needed. He seems to appear as if by magic when you need him and readily offers advice and information about the surrounding area/attractions. We spent two nights at this site and would have stayed longer had we not pre-booked the next site.

Overall an excellent site which is very quiet at night. A great base from which to explore the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Bushmills Distillery. I wouldn't recommend the Gaint's Causeway & Bushmills Railway unless you are a big fan of trains/trams, it is very slow and uncomfortable and parking at the Causeway works out cheaper (for a group of 3 or more) if you don't mind driving. Another thing worth noting about visiting the Causeway, it appears that you have to pay to get to it by going through the visitors centre but you can access it for free if you aren't bothered about a guided tour. Also, there is a bus that takes you to the Causeway for one euro from behind the visitors centre or you can walk down the road for no cost.

Just back from a few days camping at this site. Can say not one thing wrong about it. Lovely flat ground. Owner and ben fantastic so helpful. Other campers very friendly. Great facilities. Its a hidden gem shops only ten mins away. There is lovely walks and scenery around it. You have the mountains on one side and the valley on the other. Was very quiet. All in all a really lovely campsite. Will definitely go again.

I selected this site based upon the good reviews and they were 100% spot on!

The owner is always at hand if you need him and keeps this site running like a well oiled machine, Ben also helps - but mainly by eating up the left overs!

I visited with my 6 year old son for his first camping trip and felt very safe to let him wander around as there is no traffic and the site is small and has a very friendly atmosphere. There is a small play area but lots of free space to make your own fun.

Toilet blocks with showers were always clean and games room gives a great indoor area if it rains

- but being NI that rarely happens ;)

It has great views and you really know you are close to nature - no noisy getto blasters at this site!

I will be sure to be back.

Lovely location in beautiful surroundings with very friendly owner. There is hook up available and a small washing block with a couple of toilets, showers and dish washing area. There is also a small room which can be used for groups who want to sit inside together. My only complaint was that the hot water was run from an immersion heater which I had to turn on when I got up (the owner had showed me previously where it was) so I had a very lukewarm shower as the water hadn't heated up. But other than that, this was a lovely site.

This campsite is situated in beautiful surroundings with the Sperrin Mountain range behind the site and has exceptional views. The site itself is flat and well kept with plenty of fresh running water points.

The toilet/shower/wash up facilities are excellent with plenty of hot water and I was pleased to be able to fit my young daughter in the shower cubicle with me and still have space to get dressed etc - a big bonus with young children.

The campsite owner was brilliant - very helpful, offered lots of advice about nearby attractions and just an all-round lovely guy. Ben, his dog, is always in tow and the most gentle, friendly dog - my children were besotted with him.

Dungiven is less than a mile away with plenty of shops etc and the site is very central for visiting all of Northern Ireland, the Giants Causeway was 25 mins away through beautiful scenery. We would definitely use this site again and have fond memories of our stay.

A lovely campsite. Spacious camping areas, with electric hookup for tents, caravans & motorhomes. Mervyn, the owner, is lovely and paid regular visits to ensure everyone was settled and to lend a helping hand to put up tents! He was very helpful in picking a suitable site for families travelling together. The site is well levelled and well kept.

Everyone gets a visit from Ben the dog, it caused us some problems as our dogs took an instant dislike to him (no idea why he's a lovely, friendly Collie that wouldn't hurt a fly), in any case, every time he visited the campsite was treated to 2 very noisy dogs until Ben retreated.

Apart from that absolutely nothing to complain about. Great value at £10 per site plus £1 electric. Free showers & free laundering facilities and free access to a rec room with TV, fridge and freezer.

Its a relatively small campsite in a quiet area but very close to shops. Beautiful views of the hills - even in very wet weather. On site you'll also find braziers and BBQs dotted about for use by anyone.

Mervyn very kindly let us scavenge for scrap wood to burn when our fire logs ran out. The open fire helped to deter the Midges that came out periodically particularly when warm and damp. (I would recommend bringing repellent - but really most people aren't that bothered by them)

All in all thoroughly recommend this site and hope to return within next few months.

My husband and I have just returned from a short break at Hillfoot campsite and what a wonderful place it is,

The owner Mervyn is a very friendly man who goes out of his way to make you feel really at home and could not do enough for you.

The campsite is very well kept and clean, there are two wash blocks with free hot showers, hairdryers and sinks for campers to do dishes etc,

One of the blocks has an old fashioned common room with a tv, airhockey, games and books for the kids, there is also a washing machine and tumble drier.

There is a small play area for the kids with a swing and a slide. Not forgetting 'Ben' the campsite collie a friendly and gentle natured dog that comes to visit everyone a few times a day.

The views from the campsite are beautiful and you are only a short drive from the shops of Dungiven.

We would have no hesitation in booking this campsite again, really does tick all the boxes. Turly a great campsite.

We stayed at this site on the May day bank holiday weekend and have already booked our second stay! We brought a 6 man tent, two aged collies and two energetic kids.

The site was great for the kids. A swing and slide and open enough that they had freedom to roam around without being out of sight. The little park was also dog friendly.

There are two toilet and shower blocks. Both immaculately clean. The water is scalding hot, so be warned! The owners have converted an outhouse into a little cottage that houses one of the shower blocks and a lovely common room with tv, fireplace, books and games.

There is also a kettle, washing machine and dryer, air hockey table and various books. The other shower block is fully functional and is undergoing some improvements at the other end. I think the owners intend to make another common room.

Speaking of the owners, they are lovely! Mervyn made the rounds every night to check everything was OK and offer suggestions for places to visit.

The nearest shop is a short drive away. There are breathtaking views and lots of countryside to explore. We visited Dungiven Priory- lovely place!

I should mention that there is electric hook ups!

We were accompanied by the lovely Ben most of the time, the site's collie! Very friendly with our dogs and great with the kids.

All in all, a lovely place to stay. The area is truly a hidden gem!

Myself and 9 of my friends / colleagues stayed for one night, for many it was our first camping experience, we can only describe this as an excellent site that exceeded all of our expectations.

This was primarily due to the friendliness and helpfulness of Mervin, Liz and Craig who not only helped us put up our tents, build our fire and sorted out our electrical hook ups, but they treated us like family.

The campsite has showering and toilet facilities, all of which were to the highest standard. Value for money was excellent, we will definitely be back soon!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here over the really hot final weekend in March. What a fantastic site with everything you need.

On arrival, the site owner greeted us with lovely Ben (the dog) and showed us to our pitch (all flat and bump'less)! Once we were set up we had two lovely evenings at the foot of the Benbradagh mountain.

The beautiful views are unique to the site and are a must see! There is a supermarket 2 minutes down the road for everything you'll need and it's a great location to go west to Londonderry / Derry or north to Bushmills/Giant Causeway.

The owner has transformed a little cottage into toilets, showers, games room etc. Which are kept in great condition. A lovely site, to which I will be back very soon!
