We pre-booked for two nights over the weekend and arrived outside office hours at our reserved, clean and spacious pitch for our motor home.
Pitches are equipped with electricity, fresh water access and grey water drain (which I think is standard setup on this site anyway) and came up to £ 28 per night. Arriving outside office ours the friendly staff arranged the swipe card which is necessary to access facilities to be put under a cone right next to the electrical hub.
Showers and toilets are very clean; as we arrived late the £ 5 deposit for the swipe card could be paid next day during office hours.
From the main gate of the site it is not even a one minute walk to the beach and Aldeburgh 'town' is an easy walk about 5 min along the beach.
We recommend the site because of it being close to the beach with spacious pitches, clean facilities and its friendly staff. Suggested improvement in our opinion could be the hose at the chemical toilet disposal: the structure itself works well but the hose attached to the wall is too long, therefore reaches the surface of the toilet and can potentially get in touch with the content of the boxes.
One recommendation if you consider staying at the site and want to use the water supplies and grey water drain on the pitch without moving your vehicle: when you enter the pitch you will find the hub with electricity, fresh and grey water either in the left or right hand (backside) corner. That is because you share the hub with your neighbour (the hub includes two electricity outlets, two pipes for fresh water and one drain for grey water - you will find an additional bigger drain in the middle of the pitch): make sure you have long enough pipes and/or hose on board, so that you can respect the minimum distance of what we think is 6 meters between the vehicles.

This was our first outing in our motorhome. We stayed one night (Saturday). Site is only a couple of minutes away from the beach. Site operates a park on the right of your pitch policy, facing outwards, which we found impossible as our motorhome is German so door would have opened into dense bushes / trees bordering the pitches! They did let us stay where we were (on the left) but said that if anyone complained we would have to re-park. It was pricey for one night £26.00 but being that close to the beach I guess you pay a premium. Did not use any of the facilities so unable to comment on them but a nice site nonetheless. They also let us stay on our pitch later on the Sunday as there was no one else using the pitch, which was very kind.

At £24 a night with hook-up and water and very recently refurbished toilets and showers, this is a very good site and with excellent spacing for each site, with small hedges in between the touring places you can have a certain amount of privacy and quiet.
The shower / toilet block was excellent and uses a swipe card system to ensure no day trippers can just randomly use it; excellent hot showers as often as you want and very clean toilets were a sign of the quality of the site.
Although it doesn't accept tents, it does allow awnings for campers and caravans and even with these in place there is ample room in your allocated bay.
We stayed just the one night, but it's well worth a return visit and with only a ten minute leisurely walk into town and the nearby supermarket and a two minute walk to the beach or nature reserve, it's absolutely superbly located.

Site location is ideal for a motor home user as a 2 minute walk gets you to the pebbly beach and in 10 minutes you can be in the town with pubs, restaurants and shops aplenty. We had a great meal in the White Lion on the sea front. Our pitch was probably the biggest we have enjoyed anywhere in 30 years of camping and with water, electricity and grey water drainage on the pitch it was ideal. Great walks along the coast and Thorpeness is worth a visit.
£28 a night is expensive and with 1 gents shower out of action the 2 nights we were there only 2 remained. Dishwashing facilities are limited with only 2 sinks which share one tap! Reception OK but no attempt to provide local knowledge etc. And the swipe card entry to the toilet block is frustratingly erratic. At this price I would expect more showers, sinks and a reliable entry system. On a positive note the facilities were kept clean although I am sure that a squeegee for the shower floors would be useful.

Visited the site twice recently for the weekend. Much improved shower/toilet block since our last visit (in 2006). The swipe card system is OK as long as you swipe at the right speed and hold the card vertical! My children are fantastic at it - I lurk outside looking pathetic until someone lets me in!
Pitches large.
Not a great site if you have children who like to play with other people. On both occasions other children were few and far between. Ball games are not allowed.

Great location near to beach and easy walk into Aldeburgh with all shops and facilities. Good sized pitches but most touring places are a fair walk from the toilet/shower block. Limited dish washing facilities (although we never had to wait) and poor design chemical waste disposal point (be prepared to get wet feet!)
Not cheap at £28 per night but you are paying for the location, we would happily use the site again. The site is predominantly holiday/mobile home pitches with touring pitches as secondary.

Very good, well laid out site about 10 minutes walk into Aldeburgh. The pitches are spacious and the hook-ups well laid out. Facilities are excellent but the swipe card entry system to the shower block is flakey! We had a problem getting a card (£5 deposit per card) which worked and, given that the reception was quite a walk away, it took us quite a time to get into the facilities. A key code system would be better.
A fully serviced site was £24 per night all in which is not cheap but given that this is Aldeburgh, I am not surprised.
Aldeburgh itself needs no introduction. Best pub is the Cross Keys: food OK but not startling and the extractor system does not work well - your clothes need washing after a couple of hours there.
Best restaurant is the Lighthouse but you MUST book. The Regatta is good also and the fish and chip shops are excellent. Plenty of expensive designer shops and good supermarkets.
The beach is pebble but there are miles of it; the sea shelves a bit - I would not want to swim in it; Southwold and Walberswick are better for swimming.

Great location and a high quality site. Relatively expensive at £28 a night, and if you book in advance, you will be asked to pay the full amount for your stay there and then. No acknowledgement is sent via post or email, so make a note of your booking dates. I suggest you also ask for your pitch number. We arrived at lunchtime and had to wait for the reception lunch hour to be over before we could get our pitch.
The rules of the site state no tents and this includes a pup tent next to your van. We were asked to take ours down and so had to move sites as we can't all sleep in the van.
The elsan disposal is a little tricky as it is only ankle high. We also couldn't get our van over the waste water disposal which is close to a fence. Fortunately reception organised for one of their guys to lift us a manhole cover elsewhere, which we could get the van over.

Stayed at this lovely campsite last weekend. Brilliant location 2 minutes from the beach and a pleasant short walk in to the lovely town of Aldeburgh. We walked to Thorpeness which was also worth a visit. Pitches are large and relatively private surrounded by recently planted laurel bushes. Each pitch has its own electrical hook up and water tap. Toilet, showers and laundry facilities are brand new and exceptionally clean. Campsite was busy but didn't feel cramped and we didn't have to wait for showers. I think that it is probably on the expensive side at £24 per night compared to other sites but well worth the money. Great site for children as the pitches have lots of space to play. There are no playground facilities but with the location so near to the beach this didn't worry us. Will definitely visit again!

Yes it cost a little more, £28 per night but you get what you pay for. All services on the pitch, no extra for awnings, people, cars or dogs, no walking around with water barrels. Good size pitch and a very pleasent site. On foot the beach is 2 to 5 minutes away, depending on your pitch location and the supermarket no more than 10 minutes. The site is immaculate as are the toilets and showers. I rate this site as one of the best and the location is perfect for the coast and countryside.
