We have visited this site several times over the past couple of years. We love Alderburgh the site has got a new toilet and shower block which is wonderful. The site and staff are very friendly. Lots of walks in the area some nice pubs and restaurants. There is a cinema in town, lots of quaint shops, two lovely fish and chip shops open all day fresh fish to buy at the sea front huts.

We stayed on the campsite for the first time on 22nd June 07; we had a great time although the weather was not too good. We hadn't booked, but I had enquired on the Thursday to see if they had room for two camper vans, they did have and had remembered my enquiry on the Saturday and had even pencilled our names on the two pitches; very impressed! The owners were very informative and helpful. The shower/toilet and washing machine block were brilliant; new, clean and fantastic showers, having travelled in France a lot, I have to say they are the best showers I have been in. A suggestion, although there were sinks by the washing machine would it be possible to have undercover sinks added on the outside of the building for washing up ? The pitches are a great size and fairly flat, it makes all the difference. Aldeburgh is a lovely place and the campsite is situated next to the beach and a 5 minute walk from a lovely Suffolk town, with nice restaurants and plenty of fish huts. Well worth the stay, had a great time, will be back very soon.

We stayed at Church Farm recently. From reading past reviews it seems that the toilet blocks have been replaced over the winter, they are now spotlessly clean state of the art! Pitches are neat, spacious and well defined by small hedges. Pitch we stayed on had hook up and drinking water tap. Not many facilities, no clubhouse etc, but this is Suffolk, well known for peace and quiet! When booking service was friendly and efficient. Very dog friendly, when booking we mentioned the dogs and were given a pitch with dog walk behind. As site was quiet we stayed until 5pm for no extra charge. Looking forward to visiting again soon! We only live 25 miles from Aldeburgh so know it well for days out, but staying there was even better. Excellent walks in either direction along beach to good pub food, walking distance to famous fish and chip shops as well. Local Co-op is quite upmarket, has an olive bar! Ok ,pitch a bit pricier than some, compare to 5 star hotel rather than 2 star, we all need a little luxury sometimes!

First visit to Aldeburgh this season. Plenty of pitches available but some still underwater. The toilet block has been wonderfully updated, all singing and dancing. You need a card to get in as they have installed an electronic key device. You have to pay £5 deposit for this card. The office shuts at 5pm on Friday evening so if you arrive later you cannot obtain a card and therefore cannot use the facilities. Fees have gone up again this year to £22 off peak and £26 peak season. Rather expensive but it is Aldeburgh!

First trip in motorhome, but have been going to Aldeburgh for years Now costs £24 per night, and to be fair we didn't really use the facilities other than getting rid of waste, but the toilet block did look a bit grim. Aldeburgh is a wonderful place, and I think that's what you are paying for at this site rather than the facilities. Though the manager did give us an extra long pitch as we have a toddler and two dogs with us. The pitches also have lots of bushes separating the pitches. One word of caution are building right next to the site at the moment and is very noisy. Aldeburgh great place, v dog and child friendly and feels very safe. Would recommend the area to anyone.

Top site, clean, friendly, quiet, close to beach and five mins walk from the town. That last reviewer must be confused with the campsite on the Leiston road. I read the last review and was a little put off, but I have just got back from a weekend on the site and I can not fault it. Will be returning next year.

Pitch price a staggering £24 per night. Showers cold if you don't go in before 8.30am and they have a push button system that stays on for about 20 seconds. Only one working washing machine for the whole site (including static caravans) so be prepared to spend a day waiting your turn! If you have children there is nowhere for them to play on the site, however the beach and the town of Aldeburgh is two minutes away. Also be warned that some of the pitches are prone to serious flooding as we found to our peril twice during our two week visit. Reception not particularly helpful in this situation, just offering us the chance to move to another pitch! Customer service not one of their strong points! Aldeburgh itself is beautiful and restful and well worth a visit, with lovely restaurants and pubs and friendly atmosphere. Thorpenesss nearby has a lovely man made lake that you can hire out a boat. So lots nearby to keep everyone entertained.

Maybe I'm grumpy and overly-demanding, or perhaps simply naive, but if I pay £20 for a pitch (the most I've ever paid) I expect some form of heating in the toilet block (on a very cold morning), locks on all toilet doors, an impeccable standard of cleanliness and showers that stay on for more than a few seconds (admittedly inconvenient rather than tragic).
For all that, the location is wonderful, the pitches are delightful with their blooming borders of gorse, the staff friendly and it was only for one night anyway.

May 2005 Quiet site on the edge of Aldeburgh, close to the beach and within walking distance of shops and pubs. There are a lot of statics but no bar so peaceful at night. In fact, there no facilities for washing-up either, and no play area. Two showers and plenty of loos for both sexes, but they left them uncleaned over the bank Holiday - a bit naughty at £18 a night. (However, they don't seem to be at all concerned with party size for the fee). The area is lovely - easy reach of Dunwich, Thorpeness, Snape, Orford and Sutton Hoo. Excellent food at the Dolphin in Thorpeness. Plenty of walking and cycle trails. Great for a short break, but I would want more facilities for a longer stay. No booking - just turn up. Life saver on a busy Bank Holiday!

August 2003 Pleasant, friendly site with well laid out pitches. Shower block and laundry room adequate. Tents are not allowed on this site, but awnings and trailer tents are OK. £15 per night with electricity hook-up, £12 without. There are lovely views over the marshes toward Thorpe Ness. Unspoilt and natural pebble beach 5 minutes walk. Some construction work currently in progress alongside the site but not too disruptive. Walk 10 minutes into Aldebrough town which is picturesque, lively and interesting. There is a cinema, plenty of bars and restaurants and I recommend the Crossed Keys for a meal and the White Hart for good beer and frequent live blues music. You can buy seafood directly from the local fishermen when the boats come in. Walk along the beach to Thorpe Ness and on to Sizewell. If you enjoy wild-life walk along the dunes from Sizewell to Dunwich via Minsmere. I have been visiting this site for many years and would recommend it to everyone.
