I would like to say a big thank you to Gary and Val on yet another great 5 days we have spent camping on your site! All facilities are fantastic, I used the shower for the first time and loved it easy to use! We did more walking this time and managed the odd pint in Thornton Le Dale which is a very short walk away from the campsite. We had a few days rain so wellies needed and 2 very hot days in the sun! Anyone visiting when it's hot it's hot remember drinks, suncream and hats to avoid sunstroke. We will be back soon I'm sure!

Fabulous campsite!
Basic facilities - 2 female toilets, 1male, 1shower and 1potwashing sink. Very clean and looked after.
Tents around outside long field with loads of space for kids to play.
Stream the length of field providing hours of entertainment for kids- bring shorts and water shoes.
Extremely helpful friendly couple running site.
Short lovely walk to Thornton Dale with fab ice cream shop, bakery, play park with football/basketball area and skate park.
4km from Low Dalby by bike.
4G so could even watch the footy.
Already planned to return!

Lovely campsite. The owners are extremely friendly. Large grassed area, pitch up where you like, perfect for children. Clean toilet block. Fire pits/logs for rent and very tasty homegrown burgers to purchase. A perfect place for a traditional family friendly camping getaway. Amazing value for money. We will definitely be back!

Went for 2 days over spring BH, new owners have made a huge difference and are very attentive. Toilets clean and fully socked etc. Maybe in the future some sinks for the gents to wash would be good, but there's a shower now so not a huge problem.
Great site, kids love it. Val and co also sell homemade BBQ stuff and hire fire pits, with logs so its a great atmosphere.
Only real issue I have is the amount of campers who drive up to the toilet from the end of the site, as with 2 small children and a dog you want a site as traffic free as possible.
Owners should now establish a few site rules to the benefit of all campers.
We will be back.

Lovely scenic basic campsite. We were a bit hesitant about staying here due to previous reviews, but as it was a last minute decision to go to Dalby on bank holiday weekend this was all that was available.
And it was a pleasant surprise. The facilities have indeed had a renovation and toilet and showers were always clean and toilet paper provided. Even at 10 at night they were still clean and still had toilet paper.
The facilities are basic with just two female toilets and one male and one shower. Although it did look like they were in the middle of extending the renovations/facilities. Also a proper bin (not a skip) was provided with recycling area.
The owners were polite and friendly.
The location was great. Not far from the lovely village Thornton Le Dale and great for riding to Dalby forest for a day of mountain biking.
The price was also great at £10 a night and we didn't leave until 4pm the next day with no extra cost.
Will definitely be coming back to stay again.

The site is under new ownership for 2016. The facilities are being upgraded and the prices have increased.
We have not stayed here this year but plan to in the near future so as I was walking in the area I spoke to the new owner and they were extremely pleasant and helpful. There are no ratings for facilities etc we have not yet stayed and I have not seen them!

Camped Saturday night here what a beautiful scenic area to be in. As mentioned in other reviews on here very basic facilities and you enter the site through a working farm yard. Don't get me wrong love this type of camping as have wild camped elsewhere with this scenario. What does let this place down is one single toilet for the men and two for the women. Neither had loo roll but least the the womens had a sink with cold water. The men's had neither. Could of done with a good dose of bleach. When we arrived at the site enquired of the cost per night. This was for a bongo campervan with two adults req no hook up or awning. My friend was also here the same time in his campervan with his young son. We were told ten to twelve pound per night? The pitches are unmarked and basically go where you like. Although the ground was pretty water logged more in places than others so took care not to get bogged down. The pitch cost actually changed to fifteen by the next morning with no explanation. We were intending to stay two nights but this as well as the state of the toilet facilities and skip full off of rubbish adjacent put us off. . Also allowed campfires as many of what seemed to be regulars had them on the go!

Two adults, one child (aged 12) plus dog, Vango EOS 550xl tent.
Ended up here after deciding last minute to get away for August Bank Holiday weekend - you don't/can't book (I phoned first to try) & pay on arrival. Fortunately, we decided to pay for one night initially with a hope to stay another night if we liked the site.
We paid £10 in total for the night, however after speaking to a regular camper on the site they said the owner does often change their mind on how much it is.
Initial first impressions was that it appeared a very basic site with no rules at all - pay on the door then you're left to it, in a beautiful location. The kind of site we usually love; however, not on this occasion! On entering the site you notice a skip for your rubbish, then adjacent to this was an open sewer with it's lid missing - nice!
There are no set pitches; you pitch wherever you take your fancy. The grass was very long in all areas of the site which can be a bit of a pain if the weather turns wet. Unfortunately not long after we had pitched up the weather turned for the worse; turning our pitch into a bog! As soon as our feet touched the ground, water seeped through covering our shoes.
There is ONE toilet for men with NO sink/tap to wash your hands - eww! As for the 'ladies' there were two toilets in total with one sink with a cold water tap. These facilities were absolutely disgusting. We have stayed at basic sites before and spiders, cobwebs etc do not bother us but they were even too filthy for the insects to use! There is no loo roll provided, which I had prepared for. What I had not prepared for was the cardboard toilet roll holder on the floor that had clearly been used instead of loo roll. They were truly dirty and I doubt they were ever cleaned.
There were some showers located over the road to use, but did not dare to look in them to discover what they were like! There is nowhere to wash pots.
Ok, so maybe for the hardened camper this might not sound too bad, but then we were kept awake until FOUR THIRTY AM with the several sets of drunken revellers who were there (these were not all together - these were different groups of campers). Again speaking to a regular to the site we were apparently at the 'quiet' end of the site!
My partner had to save a chicken at one point that was being savaged by a dog that was left to roam around.
It really is such a shame as it is in a beautiful location, with walks to Thornton Le Dale and Dalby Forest from the site, however even if someone was PAYING ME to stay here again I wouldn't unless some massive changes had been made.

This is my favourite camp site by far!
You can't book a pitch (you just have to turn up) which is ideal because we always decide to go camping last minute! Every time we have been there has been plenty of space.
The location is amazing, the camp site is surrounded by fields with sheep & cattle and there is no noise from any roads. The field also has a stream running alongside it with swings over it for children to play on.
Sometimes the camp site has sheep roaming freely, which is something to be aware of if you do not like that, I personally thing it is brilliant, especially when they have lambs with them.
Once you have paid the owner (£10 per tent per night) he basically leaves you to it. It states that you are not allowed to have camp fires but we always have a small one (in a bucket off the ground) and so do many other people.
The toilet bock is simple but is fit for purpose. Other people might call it grubby or out dated but when you are camping what more do you want?. There is also showers located across the other side of the farm but I have not yet tried them out!
Close to Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land, Go Ape, North Yorkshire Railway. Highly recommended :)

We stayed for a weekend here, the same weekend as plan b played Daley forest, which none of us had tickets for, unfortunately!
An excellent little site, very basic but there are showers at the next field.
Tenner a night which is quite reasonable for camping nowadays, and the farmer left us to it which I loved!
There was a big group there going to plain b who had a generator and decks blaring all night so anything goes!
Our kids loved the sheep in the field, and kids n adults loved the stream and rope swings! We walked into Thornton Leo dale one day and went to a couple of pubs.
A very nice weekend!
